I'm just saying this is the third or fourth time the Sens have steamrolled us. We need to show up ready to play from shift one. It seems like such a simple thing, but we can't figure it out.

I've gotta think it's Lyon's net now. Husso's been crap all season long. Neither; this is a team problem. Blew a three-goal lead against the Habs. Very nearly blew a four-goal lead against the Sabres. We've been playing with fire and tonight we finally got burned.

None of us really wanted to come right out and say it while we were winning, but we all knew this was coming. Maybe not against the Sharks. But definitely against someone. It was an inevitability. The really frustrating thing is that this is exactly the kind of learning experience you'd expect from a YOUNG team. Like, a team of 24-year-olds with a couple 1st-overall-pick teenagers. A team that can score almost at will but has never heard the word "defense." But Yzerman consciously iced a veteran team. And the hope was that we could avoid growing pains like this. Oof.

We got what we deserved - and, hopefully, a lesson we'll take to heart. You can't blow multi-goal leads and win by the skin of your teeth every night. You're gonna get burned. So, in a perverse way, I'm almost kinda glad we got embarrassed tonight.

What's crazy is we're doing what we're doing this season with very little legit star power and a very iffy D group and very iffy goaltending and a largely unproven head coach. So, yeah, to your point: This "rebuild" could get really interesting in a hurry.

The narrative I'm going with at present is that Gru is pretty good at unleashing players' offensive skillz (we're currently the highest scoring team in the conference, believe it or not) and not so great on the defensive side of things.

Also: Our goal differential is +20. Madness.

Don't look now - but we're 2nd in the Atlantic. Our team may be flawed, but damn if this isn't progress.

The Sharks just beat the Isles in OT. They seem to be playing decent(ish) hockey lately. Thursday should be interesting. They finally added the Larkin goal. They've come to terms with the loss. Losers!

NHL is so assmad about this loss that they aren't even showing Larkin's empty netter on the box score. #Winning

Not much to add to this. No one (outside of LetsGoWings dot com) wants to hear it, but this team's been playing with fire all season long. Don't get me wrong - I'm pumped the f*** up about us looking like a playoff team, and I do think we've got a pretty good shot at making the dance if things hold. And that's all we can really ask for at this point - being relevant and challenging for a playoff spot. But we're winning because we're scoring goals. That's pretty much it. If the scoring dries up for an extended period of time, we're boned.
