Tell me about it. "Yeah, you may have just scored, but...I HAVE FISTS!"

This is the first good look I've had at the "new Blues" and I've gotta say: I'm pretty impressed. They simply won't let the Wings get any kind of flow going.
-
We would be sick with Sundin, but like I've said many times before: not happening. Wouldn't mind being proven wrong, though.

Truism.

Oh good lord, give it a rest, eva.

f*** Scott Niedermayer. f*** Brian Burke. f*** the Ducks.
-
Why, because his goals aren't flashy and his skating's choppy? Gimme a break.

To answer the original question, Too Much.

Good call.

No, we don't.

I'm actually really happy for the 'hawks and Jackets. However, I think some people are overstating and overhyping this "Central turnaround." The absolute best either of these teams could hope for this season (and I suppose this goes for the Blues as well) is to just barely squeak into the postseason and be crushed by the Wings in the first round.

You always hate to see a player get injured. Having said that, LOL SUX 2 B DUX

3 of which will be spent on IR.

I'd say the exact opposite is true; we have a lot of grinders, but not enough pure goal-scorers. To be brutally honest, Hank is our only real "goal-scorer" -- and even he, I think, is a play-maker first and a scorer second. That's certainly true of Dats. So who else do we have? Homer's been putting up great numbers, but they're generally "grinder goals" made possible by the play-making skills of Hank and Dats. Separate them and his production will fall. Franzen - far more of a grinder than a scorer. Sammy - respectable production, but by no means a go-to guy. Huds - will be suffocated in the postseason and rendered useless. Flip - play-maker who doesn't like to shoot. 3rd-liners - ostensibly grinders. 4th-liners - ... We need an elite goal-scorer. (I haven't read this whole thread, so apologize if I'm being redundant.)

True enough. However, Nuckleheads have a legitimate reason to panic right now: they all know -- whether they choose to admit it or not -- that their team flat-out sucks and has no chance of competing for the Cup with the way the roster looks at the moment. Not to mention the increasingly public tension between Vigneault and...well, just about everyone on that team. With the Wings, you always know they're going to bounce back.

Ilya Kovalchuk scores 3 goals in the 3rd period tonight..
Dabura replied to Cheli24's topic in General
Imagine him on a line with Hank or Dats. Or both. -
Ironically, I don't think people would care nearly as much about this if we were having a poor season.

His reinstatement is conditional upon his ability to refrain from gambling in any way in the future. LOL Guess we showed him who's boss, didn't we, Gary? Eh? EH? Yeeeeahhhh :beerbuddy:

Zetterberg says he wants to spend his whole career in Detroit
Dabura replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Yes. He deserves a hell of a lot of moola, and he would be perfectly justified in demanding it. But I'm hoping for that euphemistic "hometown discount." -
Well obviously there are a lot of ifs clouding the picture. But if Hossa were to stay healthy, be hungry, and be open to returning at a reasonable price next season, I wouldn't hesitate to unload Kronner, Huds, Flip, Kindl -- any of the guys who have been mentioned, provided Waddell would play along. Hossa tends to get a bad rap, and I suppose I can understand why. But him in full-force is worth two Flips and two Huds put together, IMHO.

Right after they slash Lowe's tires.

Hopefully that means he'll settle for less than he deserves with his next contract. ....In retrospect, that sounds like a horrible thing to wish for. But you get me. -
They will be in the postseason with this current roster. Guaranteed.
