Oh s***. Huuuuuuge PP.
-
We really need to work on clearings.
-
Dicking around in our zone. I thought we were over this nonsense.
-
Or Satan to hurt their O-men.

I much prefer Versus. The SJ FSN commentators aren't bad, but I don't like watching these games from the perspective of Sharks fans.
-
When I say FSN, I'm talking local SJ coverage. Blah, looks like no Versus for me.
-
I really, really hope I don't have to watch this on FSN.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2007...&id=2862617 Burnny's really going to bat for this club now.
-
That's so cute.

We probably won't be able to afford Drury, but he sure as hell is sitting atop my wishlist right now.

Kill, crush, destroy, etc.

Buffalo has not looked "picture perfect."

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2007...&id=2861523 The knock on the Red Wings over the past couple of springs has been that they aren't tough enough. Not necessarily physically tough enough, although that has been part of it, too, but mostly mentally tough enough. When Edmonton began to win the physical battles and score timely goals in the first round a year ago, the top-seeded Wings had no answer. This year, they appear to have all the answers. Indeed, this is a team that seems to thrive on adversity and uses it as some sort of fuel. After years of calling for grit and tenacity and stronger willpower, I'm so happy to read a piece like this -- and to see all of this stuff in action. Holmstrom slamming Rivet to the ice was a thing of beauty not just because it looked cool, but because of what it represented.

You asked this on the last page and I responded with this: If you're going to ask stupid questions, at least bring new ones into the fold every now and then.
-
Ah, thanks. I remembered the 1-0 game, but that was it.
-
Thanks for playing. Now, please, take the trolling elsewhere -- perhaps to an Avs forum? I'm sure they'd embrace your perspective there.

Good God, shut up already.

Just because Bert isn't and will probably never be the player he once was doesn't mean he doesn't bring assets to the table, namely: - A huge frame - Great strength - Snarl - A good offensive upside - A versatile package (few players of his stature, power, and demeanor can also claim to have really good hands) In short, he adds a nice dimension to the forward corps. Even when he's not putting up points, he can be counted on to defend our stars and make room for them, which he's done this postseason. Remember when he literally picked up Phaneuf and bodyslammed him? It didn't involve a lot of skill, but it was a very important move; after that, Phaneuf was never quite the same.
-
No one's asking him to be that player again. We've all accepted those days are over.
-
I'm hoping for a Rangers-Wings SCF, but a Sens-Sabres ECF sure would be sweet. Besides, NJ's just so damn boring.
-
Certainly points do count for a power forward, and his lack of points is therefore a source of concern. But again, he's coming off of major surgery that sidelined him for most of the regular season and is trying to work his style of play into a new system -- during the heat of the playoffs, no less. That's an incredibly tough situation to acclimate to. Look, I'm usually very quick to ***** out players, but I strongly believe that so much of what Bert's getting thrown his way is unjustified.
-
Coming off of major surgery isn't a "dumb excuse," nor is trying to adjust to a brand-new system. 1. Because he's capable of playing and contributing. Just not to his full potential. Yet. 2. Because it's the playoffs.

True, true. It's nice to see some recognition from a big media outlet, though.
