I'm leaning towards the Sens, I guess.

Dear girl on the right in pic #3, Marry me. thx, bai

Who's writing off the Wings? I think what gowingsgo meant is that, should we advance, Schneider will be sorely missed. Not to the point where we won't be able to compete, but like Offsides said, the void is going to show, and it's going to hurt.

Dom had put out a hit on that particular octopus. He was just making sure the hitman had finished the job.
-
Early in the series, when all of that junk about the Sharks being "bigger, stronger, younger, faster" was being thrown around by every media outlet, Chelios was cited more than a few times as a key liability for the Wings. Funny how things work out.

Not to sound like I'm getting ahead of myself, but could someone possibly pull up the results of the regular season Wings-Ducks matchups?
-
I was young and I needed the money.

I love Marleau as their captain. Thornton is a perfect "A" -- good, passionate leader, but prone to losing his cool.
-
I'm trying to find the silver lining in this. Maybe it's added youth on the blue line? Eh? Meh?

I feel like he's one of those guys that can only go cold for so long, regardless of the circumstances. A guy like Sammy -- it could have easily been another two years before he netted one. But Bert can really respond when he's got a big chip on his shoulder.
-
Honestly, I think it all started with his scraps late in the regular season (the one with Moen, in particular). Guy just needed some confidence, and to realize that his size is a huge asset.

He looked pretty good today. It's been said already, but the rust is to be expected; he's coming back from major surgery, and he has to not only try to regain form, but also do so within the Wings' system. That's no easy task, and I think he's doing pretty well considering. If we go on to play Anaheim, it should be a slower-paced series, which I think will work to his advantage.

If you're going to make the effort to bring in an argument from another thread only to cap it off with this sort of copout, don't bother continuing the argument in the first place.
-
It's a pretty brutal move. Even Chelly, with all his years in the league, has only tried it once, maybe twice.
-
I hope people don't turn this into an "Eat crow!" thread. The original premise of the thread was valid -- and really, still is. Dats and Hank showed up today in a big way, but they'll need to do it on the road as well.

Cleary with the wet willy.

That's good. I like Meech, but obviously Lebda's the safer bet. So now, the big question: WHY THE HELL CAN'T WE CATCH A BREAK WITH INJURIES??? Seriously, all season-llong. It's mind-boggling.
-
Huge, huge blow. Oh well. Enter Derek Meech.
-
s***.

And with the tremendous depth of their forward corps, they can hurt you in so many ways. Not to mention the consistently brilliant play of Evgeni Nabokov.
-
lol I actually think the highlight of the game for me was the Franzen + Bertuzzi double-whammy on McLaren.
-
I'm just hoping he didn't break/fracture anything. As well as they played today, they can't afford to lose Schneider for a long stretch of time.
-
If you read Bert's lips, you can see he says "Concussopuss!" as he's throwing it. (OK, not really.)

So...any word on Schneider??
