OMG. That would be AWESOME! Have like 6 people in Wings shirts walking down a dirt road with signs and like one shirtless guy with a huge beer belly sitting in lawn chair with a cooler watching the "parade."

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's the off season and we're bored, I get it, but let's have some standards, shall we? Say it with me - "Keep it on topic!" -

My entire Twitter feed is "Chicago" "Chicago" "Chicago" "Hawks" "Hawks" "Stanley Cup going through airport security" "Chicago" all on a constant loop. -
She's Baaaaaa-ack! She got to taser the mayor for charity. How much could we raise for charity if we got to tase Bettman????

And the city voted to break the lease. The team is filing an injunction against the city. Glendale wants to renegotiate the lease, the team does not, shockingly enough (not).

NBC Sports chairman wants NHL ban playoff beards
vladdy16 replied to HadThomasVokounOnFortSt's topic in General
Sorry, but that's edging into political discussion territory, which is strictly a no-no here. Let's discuss beards and the NHL, please, not race or appearance (outside of relating to said beards) suburbs v. city, etc. I'm starting to feel like the grinch..... -

Seriously - let's keep Cleary out of all of these threads. There's a Cleary-specific thread. Make your jokes there, please. It's gotten way out of hand. -

Okay, fine, ban playoff beards. But HE needs to be the one to tell Hank's beard it has to go. -

Oh. My. God. That was not personal at all. It was a guess based on your perceptions. Apparently I was wrong. That's not even in the ballpark of being a personal attack and certainly wasn't meant to insult you. And I have to ask, what does you playing hockey have to do with anything I said? -

Everything on the webs says he is a candidate. He has not been signed yet. Only one to go farther is Malik, who said to expect the announcement at the same time Blashill was announced. Ooops! -

You're confusing a rivalry with petty jealousy. They have nothing to do with each other. One is a long-standing competitive, contentious relationship and the other is just being a ******. I'm old enough to appreciate our rivalries with Chicago and Toronto. You're obviously not, and weren't raised by hockey fans I'm guessing? Trust me - any hockey fan from my generation in Detroit, Toronto and Chicago has taught their children about these rivalries, just as Red Sox fans and Yankee fans have taught their children. -

The Chicago rivalry will never die, much like the Detroit/Toronto rivalry never did. We pass it from generation to generation. -
Wings set 11 AM Tuesday Presser to announce Blashill
vladdy16 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
The Wings website usually streams them live. -
This has nothing whatsoever to do with the Hawks. I hate the Hawks. I hate that someone has to win this series. The Bolts could pull this anytime, anywhere against anyone and it would still be a punk move. There's nothing in the Bolts ticket policy that states he can't sell his tickets, to Hawks fans or anyone else. He didn't violate any agreement, hence them caving.

Well, I hope Blash has a couple of good assistants in his back pocket. I'm am more excited about this than I was about Babcock coming here to begin with. Not to say I haven't been happy with his performance, but I was leery when the Wings signed him. Damn, maybe I should be feeling more leery now instead..... -

My local grocery store was lousy with Hawks fans today. WTF? -
Even more egregious: A STH Army captain whose duties are preventing him from attending the games had been blocked by the Lightning from selling off his tickets. Read the article inside the linked article - it's gets shameful in my opinion.

I don't like bacon. There. I said it. The fascination escapes me. *whew* I feel so much better now. I don't like sausage, ham, or pepperoni either. -
Yes, it's our favorite time of year, folks! For those of you who know how this works, pledge early and often. For those of you who don't, those who want to participate figure out some kind of financial pledge having to do with the Wings playoff performance. Some pledge a buck a goal for certain players, some pledge per win, per series, per shutout, or any combination. Get creative! Don't get too complicated though, because it gets hard to keep of. Post your pledge here so we can shamelessly "plus" your post. When it's not possible to add any more to the kitty, everyone Paypals me their total and I make a donation. Now, all but one year we have donated to Children's Hospital. I'm fine if everyone wants to keep it that way, but I'd like to suggest we send this season's donation to a local charity started by a 12-year-old when he was 9. He spends every single Saturday feeding the homeless in Detroit. I've been following him on Facebook for quite a while now and he's starting to get a lot of press. All signs point to this being a legit charity. Check out the Eimers Foundation here and here. When you pledge, vote for either Children's Hospital or the Eimers Foundation; both are worthy recipients, so I certainly won't be offended either way. LGLGW!!

ECF : Tampa Bay Former Rangers vs. New York New Rangers
vladdy16 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I love the handshake line - I think it's one of the very cool things that makes hockey special, but for some reason I'm sitting here wishing someone would throw an elbow. -
Okay, all donations are in. Our total is $340.10!!! That's incredible I'm so proud of you all. Thanks SO much for participating. You all rock. Now, where do we send the money? I can instantly PayPal Childrens' Hospital. The Eimers Foundation doesn't currently directly accept cash donations. I can make a Costco run and deliver foodstuffs to them, which I don't mind doing at all. So, help sick kids or feed the homeless?
