Hey B52, no i didn't see it but i was listening on the radio. Maybe the edger can clarify how bad it was but from what i heard on the radio this is what wen't down, Cote tried to swipe the puck out of Legace's glove with his stick once the play had stopped and a scrum started, Bootland went straight for Cote and both came out of the scrum with the gloves off and Bootland was teeing off on Cote with the left with pretty much everything landing, Cote tried a right but Bootland answered with a couple of upper cuts and then some more lefts to finish it. Kaser said it was a complete beating and that Cote would think twice about doing it again.

You are right, he has won the Stanley cup and the world cup awell, it is sad but he has had a successful career even though it may be cut short.

Yeah but if you figure in Fischers salary it works out fine. I'm not sure it works like that. From everything I've seen we can replace Fischer with a guy with an equal or lesser salary and the new player's salary won't count against the cap. I've never heard/read that we get the cap space back to use as we please. peace Oh right, i didn't know that. Your right then it doesn't work end of story.

The guy sucked it up big time in the Ahl, from what i saw of him. Maybe it was just that he hadn't recoverd fully from his leg injury but still this is no big surprise. This will give Oulahen(sp) more icetime anyway.

Bob Kaser, the Griffins announcer said that Bootland is playing the best hockey of his career and that all the people that he has spoken to around the franchise are saying the same. In the last two games Bootland has hit the post 5 times, he is turning into a real offensive threat when he is on the ice and he has been great in toughness department for the Griffins this year aswell. He has 15 points so far and he also leads the league in fighting majors aswell.

Yeah it is, but the thing is Hackert doesn't even look like a scorer, to be honest i don't know what he is.

Nice report NN, That was the worst i have seen the Griffs play this year, they looked really tired and lethargic(sp). I thought Bootland, Hudler, Ellis and Flipper all played pretty well last night. Bootland had a nice assist on MacLeans goal and he was excellent on the Pk. The thing that i like about Flipper is that he doesn't shy away from playing physical, he wins battles along the boards and he is strong on his skates. Ellis is solid aswell he never stops working. The way Quincey is playing right now it is hard to believe that this is his first year in GR. NN did you pay any attention to Micheal Hackert last night, from what i have seen he looks terrible out there, he doesn't hit, shoot, dig in the corners or anything he is taking up a roster spot in GR that Big Snake could have had. At least Big Snake would hit and fight and serve a purpose on the roster.

Bootland scored again last night, it was 2-1 to the Moose with 4 minutes left in the third, Kopecky had a nice feed to put Booter in on the break away but instead of going in on the goalie Booter lets it rip from the top of the circle straight into the top left corner. This goal was an absolute rocket of a shot and Bootland now has 12 points 19 games. Oh and Booter also had another scrap, he has 10 fights this year aswell.

Definately B52, We need some young guys with something to prove up here now!! Bootland and McDonell can provide some of the toughness that is missing and Hudler and Filipulla can easily slide into the top two lines. Plus it would definately give the veterans something to think about.

Hudler didn't play tonight, he has a slight sore ankle. This shows how good the Griffs are they played without their top scorer and didn't miss him at all. Bootlands goal was a really nice finish, he went in on the goalie dragged it to the left and fed it through the gap. Kopecky is starting to play like the power forward he should be, he is hitting well. This line has the perfect balance, it has Flippers finesse with Bootlands grit and Kopeckys shot. Another guy that i am impressed with is Kent McDonell he is alot grittier than i thought, he doesn't shy away from a hit and he is fast as hell. Big Greg Amadio is impressing me more and more as i watch him, he never makes a mistake or takes any dumb penalties, Ireland is rewarding him with more and more ice time every game.

If the Wings were there to scout a player, then Asham is the type of player that the Wings are lacking. He can hit, score and did i mention that he can scrap real good aswell.

I would do this trade every day of the week B52, the Wings have plenty of good young D men, so Meech would be no great loss.

True, i just hope he gets a shot.

Well the Wings should put him on waivers then and call up Bootland, It's pretty clear they weren't going to sign him anyway.

I would love for Bootland to get a shot this year, By the way Barnes52 Bootland now leads the Ahl with 9 fighting majors. Im glad the Wings are winning and all but i have to admit the games are so god dam boring right now, the game last night against St Louis was the worst i have seen. There was absolutely no hitting what so ever. I went from watching the Calgary vs Vancouver game on saturday night, it was fast, the hitting was tremendous and there were 5 fights, then i watched the Wings game last night and i was so bored. Half way through that game i was wishing Bootland was out there starting some s**t, hitting and causing some scrums. And what the hell has happened to the grindline? They used to go out there and hit and energise the team, they don't do that anymore. Its time to get Bootland on that line and then they won't need to rename it.

Big Snake is really doing the business this season, he had another fight tonight and also scored another goal. He has now Played 4 games, he has 6 points (3 goals and 3 assists) , 4 fights, 33 pims and is a +3.

Yes they are all playing well, Bootland had an excellent game last night he had two points and was a force on the penalty kill. He now has 2g 2a and is a +2 in 8 games.

Teams used to fear playing the Wings when they had Probert and Kocur playing, the Wings never won much back then because they had little skill to go along with the brawn but if you add some toughness to this team then you have a good balance of toughness and talent and a real contender and as Barnes and Toddagod have said above Bowman, Babcock and Holland all know this and have said it publicly so why don't you get it.

It would be great if we could sign him just for his hitting and aggressive style and also pick up a real enforcer (im dreaming )
