Although he is tough, he is not tough enough to be this teams no.1 guy, the Wings need someone like Oliwa or Langdon someone who can drop them with anyone and send a message but then again he is better than nothing. I seriously think Holland will get a forward for the fourth line.
-
Do any of you know who fought last night, it says in the article both teams were issued with a five minute major, but it doesn't say who it was.
-
Hey Mike BigSnake welcome to the boards, did he say he had signed with the Wings or the Griffins?
-
I saw him fight a couple times when he played for Windsor -- he was pretty gangly back then -- he could be a good prospect. Stays at home, nasty temper but not stupid -- if he grows into his body look out. Thanks for the Info Fightfan, do you know anything on these two guys Jason Kostadine http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla....php3?pid=55076 Bryce Charpentier http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla....php3?pid=73323 Any info here would be great. Charpentier has a big heart and has NHL heavyweight potential -- holds his own with most and will fight anyone. Skills are limited but he still has upside and is very well conditioned -- switches well and can take a punch and answer (nice attribute). I'd love to see him develop into a full time AHL player by seasons end. Kostadine reminds me of Bootland with less talent and a better chin. Long shot if Holland has a say. With Filpulla destined for a full season at GR there is one less slot for a tough guy up front too. They should hang onto Big Snake too -- he could become a Kris King type player... Thanks again Fightfan.

No, i don't know what is going on with him, people seem to just not like the guy and it doesn't seem to matter how he plays.
-
Does anyone know anything about Brett Angel he is listed at 6'6 and 229 pounds he is a defenceman and has decent penalty minutes. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla....php3?pid=31795

If he has 2 solid seasons he will be knocking on the door.
-
Just keep working hard and you will be fine.
-
He will be playing in Grand Rapids this season, so if he has a really good solid season down there then he would be alot closer than he is now.
-
Agreed, The thing is aswell though that he is only 21 so if the Wings do sign him and let him develop in Grand Rapids then he could end up weighing in at around 225 to 230 pounds and that extra weight could really help him out. Yeah, I have no doubt that he will continue to develop and get bigger. I'm only 21 as well, and I'm nowhere near at my maximum possible size. I'm 6'5" and about 195lbs. but I think I still have plenty of room to add muscle, which is why I'm still working out and lifting weights. So even though Big Snake is a bit shorter than me, at 220lbs. he still has some more filling out to do, but probably not as much as someone who is 5 inches taller and 25lbs. lighter (like me). I'm thinking that he will probably end up at about 230lbs. or maybe 240lbs. at the most. Wow you are 6'5 do you you fancy lacing them up for the Wings, can you drop the gloves haha . All kidding aside i find it alot harder to knock a guy off the puck who is 6'0 230 than a guy who is 6'5 230 just for the fact that a smaller guy has a lower centre of gravity and is more solid and stocky than the biggar guy.

Big Snake is impressing at camp look at the size of him in this photo of him scoring into Legace, there is a small article on him and it sounds like he is throwing his weight around. There is an article about him halfway down the page under the Big Impact heading: http://www.detnews.com/2005/wings/0509/14/.../D03-314341.htm

No probs Todd, you seem pretty excited about this kidd and you should be to, i am really excited aswell and im pretty sure the Barnes boys are to. I hope he has a good main camp and then plays in Grand Rapids with Barnes and Amadio.

Excellent, Good find B52 Here is an article about him from Traverse City, i really like this guys attitude: http://www.record-eagle.com/2005/sep/11snake.htm
-
Did you talk to Nill or Lewis about toughning this team up? or did they say anything about Big Snake.
-
Excellent B52, just what i wanted to hear, i am really excited about this Kid Here is a good read from redwings central about Big Snake: http://www.allsports.com/nhl/redwings/stor...10_Summary.html
-
Thanks B52, do you have any news on his second fight and can you give me your opinion on Big Snake as a player i.e Skating, Hitting and does he play with an edge.
-
He is only 21, and going with that picture of the fight it looks far from a draw to me, the other guy is face down in the ice. The wings lost 5-4 to atlanta last night and Big Snake had another fight. Redwings central doesn't have the game recap up yet.
-
If he has been listening to us then hopefully he goes out and signs an enforcer, im also glad that LaCouture is coming to town.
-
The guy that Big Snake fought was 6' 8" tall and 238 pounds and Lindy gave Big Snake the edge saying that he landed several punches. Good showing against a guy that was much bigger. Kindl was a plus 3.

I love Bootland, I think he is a great player and fighter but he will not be able protect the Wings from the likes of Cairns. Sure he will fight them but if it is a guy like Cairns then he won't be scared of fighting Bootland so he will take shots at the Wings. Where as if you have a huge toughguy, like Cairns, he might not take as much shots at the Wings because he will be in for a tough scrap. Exactly right and Holland knows this that is why he said "we have no toughness" meaning that we have no one to fight the heavyweights in the league and Holland said that he would address this through waivers or trades.
-
Add Laraque to that trade and i would consider.

No thanks, Smyth is getting old plus Zetterberg is going to be great.
