Cross takes dumb penalties aswell. At least most of Simpsons penalties were fighting majors.

Im freaking out over an EIGHTH defenseman when we couldve had a SIXTH defenseman that actually uses his body in the lineup. And would have cost the wings less and he would have actually provided something that the Wings need.

Look Heaton, i think Nashville overpayed for Witt but atleast they got a player that will benefit their team greatly when the playoffs come, now Holland on the other hand overpayed massively on Cross, a fourth rounder for a waste of space, thats what bothers me the most.

Every other team around us got stronger and all we did was get slower. Calgary didn't! The Wings couldn't beat them already so what does that say about the Wings.

This has to be one of the worst trades Holland has ever made. He gave a 4th round pick away for a guy who can't get a game for the worst team in the Nhl when he could have had Todd Simpson for a 6th round pick. At least Simpson would have provided toughness for the pick, Cross provides squat. I can't believe this guy has wen't from the worst team in the Nhl to one of the top contenders for the cup. What a joke.

Penner isn't even one of Anaheim's top 10 prospects. If he does make it in the NHL, it'll be as a grinder. If Burke actually pulls off this deal, he should be charged with Grand Larceny. Penner has 61 points in 40 games in the Ahl, thats pretty good going and i think he will make it as a scorer and not a grinder. He has 7 points in 18 games this season in the Nhl, now if you were to pair him with Datsyuk or Zetterberg in about a years time that would be a nice combination.

Im with you on this one, if it's for the right type of player im all for it but i don't want Holland to give him up for the sake of a renta player for the playoffs. If the rumours are true that it could be for Salei and Penner then i would pull the trigger right away due to fact that Penner is a future power forward and not a waste of a trade.

It's scary to think that he only had a couple of points in his first 20 games or so due to him being out of shape.

How is this possible??? I though he would be the leading defenseman and that's why he is up playing with wings. But in third pairing..? Sorry i wasn't very clear there, what i meant was last season he was playing 5th, 6th d man and look at him now, this year he was playing in the top 2 pairings before his callup to Detroit.

Hudler= Yeah he is playing wing and he plays the point on pp. Lebda played as a 5th and 6th defenceman and look at him now, ill get you updates regularly.

I think Salei and Penner could both be Redwings by the deadline and thats why Holland went to Anaheim last night.

Before this season he was underrated, but i think he has gone up in alot of peoples opinions with the way he has played so far this year and i think he is one of the top defensive prospects in the Wings system. The future of the Wings defence is looking good.IMO

This was the lines from last nights game against cleveland, the players on each line stay the same but if one line is playing well they will be moved up. The Kopecky-Bootland-Filppula line has been solid all season and they are now the Griffins second line. WOO HOO!! This guy plays with a major mean streak, he was an invite to the Griffs camp this year and apparently played solid while fighting with all the tough guys that were at the camp aswell. Word is he skates really well and is very mobile for a guy of his size. He was drafted by Nashville in the third round in 1999 but he didn't sign with them he went to college and played there for 4 years and this is his first season playing pro. Quincey is scarely strong, i don't know how many times i have seen the opposition player take a run at him and come off worse and Quincey just skates away. I saw him against cleveland a few weeks ago and one of their players hit Quincey with a cheap hit along the boards which stung Quincey, the next shift they were on together the guy was skating threw centre ice and Quincey demolished the guy with one of the most viscious open ice hits ive seen to date, it was a clean hit but the crowd all went silent and they knew the guy was hurt, he never returned to the game.
