Yeah the minors are a bit high but just about everyone on the Griffins has roughly the same number of minors because of the new rules.
-
I wonder if somebody could find that breakdown i'd be interesting to know. Minors= 31 Misconducts= 5 Fighting Majors= 18 Roughing= 35 (other guy went with him to the box 33) Thats all of Bootlands penalty minutes so far this year.

Nice scrap. Thanks! It looks like Angel punches hard.

No problem Brett Angel vs Mel Angelstad http://rapidshare.de/files/13871149/Angel_...elstad.wmv.html Enjoy

I have a clip of him beating Mel Angelstad in the Uhl this year, if anyone wants to see it let me know and i will upload it.
-
Angel was recalled by the Griffins today and will be in the lineup tomorrow night against Rochester.
-
Neil#25, LEAVE BOOTLAND ALONE, You can have Derek Meech though.LOL

I was watching the game the other night on B2 and Kaser(the Griffs radio annoncer) was talking about the amount of Nhl scouts who were in attendance to watch the Griffins play. Maybe they're just Griffin fans.... Hey, the way the Griffins have been playing this year maybe they are.

This would be awesome if true, but i don't think Bootland would be involved in the trade, but Hudler could be a possibility. A couple of rumours are flying around that Hudler could be available and with the log jam at centre in this organisation and the lack of big wingers i would welcome this trade with open arms. There were 18 scouts at the Griffins vs Cleveland game the other night and 16 of them were from the NHL.

Yeah i agree, thats why i would like Walker, He's younger, bigger, tougher and a hell of a lot cheaper. IMO.
-
My first choice would be Witt but i think too many other teams are interested aswell and he could prove to be too expensive for the Wings. So i would like to get Matt Walker, a solid young D man that could be signed to a long term deal in Detroit.

What a game this was, both teams skated hard the full game but the Griffins had just that little bit more left at the end. The Bootland-Filppula-Kopecky line is just plain awesome, all three of these guys were excellent tonight, Bootland was all over the ice and was always crashing the net. Filppula and Bootland were awesome on the penalty kill and Bootland scored with 1 second left in the 3rd to take it into OT and he got the 2nd star of the game. Every time this line is on the ice they generate an awesome forecheck which keeps the other team in their own zone. Matt Ellis was a work horse tonight and he led by example, he never quits and he played a big part in the 3rd goal with his digging and grinding behind the net. Greg Amadio and Kyle Quincey were both clearly the best Griffins d-men tonight, they kept it simple, played the body and were solid all night. Joey MacDonald played solid aswell tonight and he didn't have much chance on any of the four goals that the Admirals scored. Three Stars: #1- Bryan Helmer #2- Darryl Bootland #3- Scottie Upshall Here are the Griffins goals from tonights game: http://rapidshare.de/files/12508106/Griffi..._Goals.wmv.html

Put it this way his size is more than welcomed on the Griffins. Two games ago Ireland didn't play him, he played some new guy on defence and the Toronto Marlies ran a mock hitting everything and crashing the net and the Griffins lost that game. The last game they played was also against the Marlies and Ireland dressed Angel because it was obvious from the game before that the Marlies were a much more physical team, guess what happened the Griffins won. He is not seeing much ice time but when he does he plays smart and solid. Ireland has been playing him on both D and left wing.

This is by far the worst game that i have ever seen in all my years of watching hockey. The slightest of taps and its a penalty. To be sitting watching the game that i love being reduced to this nonsense is a f**king disgrace.

Heres a clip of Jamtin agitating before the game has even started, Sheddon tells his own player to "tell #50(Jamtin) to stop fireing pucks down the other end of the ice or he better keep his f**king head up". Jamtin doesn't take being told what to do very well so Jämtin told Lostedt that he'd swing his stick to Lostedt's head. It's a short clip and the fight is cut short but its still pretty interesting. Jamtin looks as though he has a good right hand. http://rapidshare.de/files/6036653/shedden...jamtin.avi.html

What prospects will make the Wings Next year?
Hatcher#2 replied to ufcredwingfan's topic in Prospects
I can't wait for Jamtin to be in a Wings uniform, imagine having to play against Maltby, Bootland and Jamtin. That drives me nuts just thinking about it. -
Excellent Barnesy, his size could come in handy in the playoffs for the griffs. Get him planted in front of that net.
-
The big thing that was holding Bootland back was his skating but he worked real hard in the offseason and he has greatly improved his skating, i think the improvement in his skating has played a big part in his numbers being up this year aswell.
-
Was it you Barnesy that said Angel could play left wing aswell? because he played a few shifts at left wing against Milwaukee the other night.
-
You are correct Barnesy, Tibbets turtled big time on Bootland. The night after that Bootland tried to get Rick Berry from Milwaukee to go but he declined aswell.
-
I dont know if he will be a top heavy in the Ahl but all i know is that he was a top heavy in the Ohl when McMorrow, Cloutier and McGrattan to name a few were there and he beat them all at one time or another, this season he has fought Tremblay to a draw, he has a draw and a win against Matt Goody and i think he beat BigSnake aswell although i think that was a jumping, but i have never heard of anyone who has given him a good beating, most of his fights are always close. Most of the guys that i have spoken to about him have told me that he is a heavy puncher and that he is freakishly strong. He gave a recent interview and he said that he wants to try and fight some real tough guys like Angelstad to see where his fighting is at in terms of ability. So only time will tell. But he is off to a good start in GR anyway.
-
Bootland has had 14 fights this year he has a record of 9-1-4. His only loss has come from Brandon Sudgen and he shouldn't really have been fighting him anyway if the Griffins had a true heavy at the time. He has an impressive card this year aswell. Doug Murray- Win Garth Murray- Draw Brandon Prust- Win Cam Severson-Draw Cam Cunning- Draw Clayton Stoner- Win Ole-Kristian Tollefsen- Win Brandon Sugden- Loss Jean-Francois Jacques- Win Jimmy Roy-Win Johnathan Aitken x2 Win-Win Brad Staubitz- Draw Jean-Philippe Cote- Win I too am looking forward to the new breed of enforcer who can play, hopefully Robin BigSnake is the Wings enforcer that can play.

Hudler is still very young so i would rather he got more time in the Ahl to develop his consistency. -

Who do you think the Wings will look to to fill the gaps? I have Bootland and Kopecky as strong contenders followed closely by Ellis and Flipper.
