I tend to agree. He's #4 or #5 in my book. If you had a clean slate and listed guys you wanted going forward to rebuild his name would fall 4 or 5 and that's where I view him. Larkin, Mantha, Zadina, AA. 12th best? What 4 defensemen would you take over AA? I can't think of one I'd keep over him. You guys are awfully harsh on him. He's about ready to bloom. We complain about offense and scoring then complain he can't play defense. Maybe if we had real defensemen on this team we could let our offense play offense.

Loved the Dailey signing last year and like the Green signing this year. Our Defense is flat terrible and anything we can get we should. I'd rather see some assets traded for a real Defenseman to lead the blueline but we've all been waiting for that trade for years and it never comes. With our defensive talent I fail to see why anyone wouldn't think this was a no brainer.

The best I've felt about this team in a long while. I'm no Kenny fan but glad he took the talent that fell to him.

Totally agree this team needs a high-end talent infusion. Love the list and the thought...Bouchard and Wahlstrom for me.

Unfortunately this has been quite a few years of the same thing. I really always thought the Wings held themselves to a higher standard and were driven to win cups. Their decisions and the fans complacency is bringing this storied franchise more in-line with the Lions than a winning organization. We need a change at the top and someone with a vision or plan of where we are headed. We have entered rebuild mode and will remain there so long as the leadership can hide behind it. Isn't Hughes a much smaller guy than Bouchard? I'm really hoping they'd have a reason to take Hughes other than he's a local guy.

Rebuilds take many forms. A blend of solid proven commodities blended with hungry talented youth is what we really need. The thought you forego a talent like OEL to keep rosters spots for young guys that may pan out isn’t smart business. The wings have had a glut of average winger talent that has needed to be weeded outfit years.

It just buys Holland another 3-4 years of incompetence (and bad contracts). I firmly believe we are 2-3 years away, after Holland is let go.

I’d like a real coach to evaluate some of this young talent like AA before we trade him away. Any real rebuild should start with Holland/Blashill. We might find negotiations and interest in our team changes with some new personalities at the helm.

I hope we can sign Green on the cheap for 2-3 years and continue getting rid of bad contracts. Tatar should have never been signed this last year, glad we moved him and that contract before the NTC clause kicked in. We need to lock AA, Mantha and Larkin up to good deals long term.
