are you joking? Gormley was consensus top-3 in 2011 draft while they got Rundblad from Ottawa for Turris. These are two defs with outstanding potential, especially, Gormley. It would take Fil+ to get Gormley or Jarkrock to get Rundblad (I think they would do it straight up).

Having good offensive team never hurts, especially, if we can ice Dats, Zetter, Fil, Ryan (or Semin), Doan and Franzen as our top-6 with Bert-Helm-Cleary as our third line. At least we'll be excited during the regular season. Play-offs is a different story but then there is always a chance Gary steps in and decide on the champ irrespoective of how strong we are. why are people so high on Carle? Just two seasons ago Tampa and Philly played a ping-pong game with Carle and suddenly he is going to get 5M. I watched Philly multiple times this season and he did not impress that much.... Well, to be honest Suter did not impress me as well last season. Well, I can understand that Suter is always in the shadow of Weber but still. PS Semin would be good addition for not more than 5.5-6M per season for say 4-5 years. PPS Getting rod of Emmerton is a must for this offseason to be successful. Get a legitimate 4th line center.

Red Wings fans barely know what does it mean to play good as a goaltender. Look at Rinne, Lunquist, Quick, Brodear, well even Backstrom. Those G are playing good. Howard is playing satisfactory with some good games in-between. That's why Gus would be nice for us to have. At least, we''l have a chance to have a good G.
