It's important to keep in mind that Kenny may have never had the option, as Clowe and an NTC. I haven't seen anyone knock Kenny yet, but it's LGW, so it's coming. I was high in Clowe as well, but I know a Sharks fan who couldn't have been happier to see him leave. Aside from his lack of production, San Jose fans were growing tired of his boneheaded plays.

Khan called it a "paper move", he was sent down to Grand Rapids in order to give him AHL eligibility, should the Red Wings decide he needs to get in games down there. Based on Khan's tweets, it doesn't sound like it. Edit: Of course, if the Red Wings should make the playoffs, he can come up.

@AnsarKhanMLive: Holland said the team exhausted its 4 recalls (DeKeyser, Nyquist, Lashoff, Andersson) and can no longer recall a player from Griffins, unless it's on emergency basis DeKeyser, Nyquist, Lashoff were all 'sent down' so that they'll be eligible for the Griffins if need be. So there won't be any extra youth in the line-up down the stretch. Also, Sheahan is not NHL ready at all.

Not that any of this needs to be shot down, but Kha(aaaa)n just tweeted that Filppula is on the ice for practice. So there's that. Only noteworthy because it could have other implications. I'll be happy when this is over so I can go back to not following any hockey analysts / reporters / beat writers / rumor mongers on twitter. -

Yeah, Drew did not instill a lot of confidence, but he'll be fine. He's been throwing well and it was what, 34° in Minnesota? Well I can say that the CCMs don't really fit like Reebok's do, I've always found CCM to run a little bigger. SportsK comes very highly regarded. I sent my jersey to get lettered and it turned out very nicely.

Another move that I don't mind Holland not making. Can't help but wonder what his contract demands are if Dallas couldn't come to terms and the Wings simply don't need a rental or a 42 year-old winger potentially eating up a bunch of cap space. Jagr could have been a nice addition, but if Holland decided the Stars wanted too much (2 prospects and a pick?), then I'm okay with holding onto those assets for better moves.
