Bertuzzi isnt doing nearly as bad as you are making him out to be. He is opening up the ice for the other players, no he has not provided the scoring presence that he was once capable of, but I think he is doing an O.K. job. Not excellent, but he is a threat, and San Jose doesnt treat him lightly, hes one more player that they have to becareful with, and as soon as they do let up on him, Im sure he will make them pay. Bertuzzi has been very physical when he doesn't have the puck. This helps, I keep on thinking back to him body slamming Phenauf to the ice in the last series.

I believe the exception to that role is a backup goaltender, the backup goaltender does not have to play in a playoff game to get his name on the cup.... although I dont believe this would apply to howard or liv, and it definitley would not apply if they do not dress.

After the first two goals, Detroit really took control of this game, its too bad they couldnt capatilize... I agree Nabakov wasnt Spectacular, but either way he got the job done and he did make a couple of nice saves along the way. A lot of the perimiter shots that everyone was complaining about were Screens/Deflections and he managed to be in the right position to stop them. San Jose's first goal was a good one, there was not much Dom could do, he nearly had it, but nearly doesnt count. The second one Hasek probably should have had, but either way the team in front of him didnt even manage to put up one goal, so it didn't really make a difference. Im still waiting (and hoping) that Hasek will be able to steal a game for us, were going to need him to be exceptional at some point, not just good... This was only the second game in a couple of years that Detroit has been shut out, that is quite the accomplishment for San Jose. Detroit didn't really have any bounces going there way all night, Im not blaming the loss on that, but lets hope they are more favorable for Detroit on Saturday.

When I saw, my only worry was that Cleary did seem to leave his feet a little bit, I wasnt sure if it was after he made contact, or if he jumped at him... Was it an elbow to the head? no way... It also happend right in front of a referee, who were calling Detroit for anything that looked close to be an infraction. The CBC announcers didnt find it to be Dirty... It was unfortunate that he lost his balance right before Cleary hit him, but it happend at the very last second, i dont think Cleary could have stopped... Was the "great hit of the game" Primeau on Bertuzi? No Way, not even close, I can think of several better hits by both Calgary and Detroit. So you call it the check of the game cause Bertuzi walked away looking hurt? If that is what you judge the check of the game by then, you

In the U.S. the World Championships dont get much air time... if you think the hockey announcers are crazy, try turning into an NBA game, most of the announcers really yell and scream, to the point that it is annoying...
