That's crazy. Pominville was traded for our equivalent of Jarnkrok and Mrazek...that's the real deal. Gaborik brought back 3 NHL players...that's a real deal.
-
Howson or the new GM of Blue Jackets? Lol
-
Moore is not Brendan Smith.
-
No way. Comeau is a better, young asset to keep on the team (that Feaster just traded the soul of) than getting a 5th that will almost surely never pan out. Gaborik means the world as a means of exciting the fan base. When the going gets tough, star players are leaned on. Say what you will but if the Blue Jackets make the playoffs...they'll probably be happy they have Gaborik instead of Brassard.
-
Comeau for a 5th to Columbus...Columbus GM knows what's up. Jay Feaster is useless.
-
Yep. That strategy only works if your better than everyone else.
-
LA, Columbus, Chicago, Minnesota all got better and we have been overachieving all year. I don't know why Kenny didn't just get what he could for Filppula is this season doesn't matter and because he shouldn't be resigned anayway.
-
Minny gave up Larsson and Hackett though...thays nutty.
-
Big surprise.
-
If that's true...and I think that would be a debatable group...but we needed to do that. Kenny dropped it big time.
-
Pominville to Minn
-
Gaborik to the Blue Jackets....hahahaha wow Brassard, Moore, Dorsett
-
Steve Mason to Philly
-
What?!? Then what...tell Howard to hit the door? Mrazek could probably be better than Howard and Bishop. I bet if Holland were actually willing to trade Mrazek we could get a piece we actually need.

I really think getting rid of Franzen would change the dynamic. I jist want to watch the Wings bring it like they care everynight...even if we're not as good. I'm tired of the same old, same old garbage.
-
Me too but its been 5 years now and we are/already have been wasting the last years of Lidstrom and Datsyuk. When Kenny gets around to not being afraid to gamble while he still can it may be too late.
-
Yep. For some reason this deadline was more frustrating than usual for me. This team isn't near Cup worthy. This is four years since our last meaningful run at the Cup and Holland wasted Lidstrom's last years. Now he's wasting Datsyuk's too. How could you even blame Pavel now if he left? Pavel would be completely legit to say that he doesn't want to stay here if were not going to try to win.I'm tired of the same old excuses now...we are always waiting for the perfect Free agent discount or the perfect trade (unless its for Kyle Quincey)... If Datsyuk leaves and this has anything to do with it...I could seriously see myself essentially stopping caring. I am surprised Illitch has told Holland he HAS to do something. That is unless Illitch is just more focused on the Tiger's now. At least Dave Dombrowski is trying to win now. Seriously, the point of all this is, if you know your not good enough to contend...why not sell your spare parts, at least? This team is just not good enough...I don't get it.

Epic.

Bahaha...I've been watching Sportsnet.ca's one all morning. Not as funny but they had a bunch of former GM's telling insider stories that were pretty cool to hear. How the Hawks got Chelios for Savard was pretty cool amongst others...

I hope your wrong but I think that's what's going to happen... That said, we shouldn't make desperation trades. Boston got fleeced for Jagr, Iginla didn't want to come here, and J-Bo wasn't worth what they wanted from us. Unless we make a surprise deal for a legit player (Vanek), we will still be a middling, first round exit type team. These really are the transition years guys. We really banked on/needed to sign Suter to stay a legit contender...but we didn't.
-
I see what you did there...and I thought it was funny.
-
AHHHH!!!
-
So why don't we just conceade to the fact that first rounders are a useless commodity and trade them away every year...jokes on the other 29 NHL teams. That said, our first round history isn't great, but it would be nice not to bank on 7th rounders turning into gems every couple years.
-
Kind of hilarious considering the Quincey trade...
-
Here's the thing though....Boston trades a 2nd rounder and two prospects that aren't top 10 guys (so I'm assuming they're between 11-17)...for us that would be a 2nd round pick and two ofJake Pattersson, Frk, Pulkkinen, Marchenko, Tvrdon. (Per RWC)I hope you get my point... Also...Iginla gave Calgary no leverage and the whole four teams he chose knew that he wouldn't go anywhere else. His situation is too unique to include in tour assessment.
