If we just traded Jarnkrok for a 33 year old, pending UFA, older Weiss clone...Holland needs to step down. He could have had any other of the better guys for basically the same price. Pathetic. -

This cannot...CANNOT be true...Legwand isnt worth Jarnkrok by himself, especially as a rental. -

There is no way anyone with 97.1 knows before anyone on TSN... -

Not true at all...Tatar and Nyquist both dominated last year and arguably the year before that. -

The way Ferraro sounded on TSN...it has to be his son. If its Jarnkrok, Holland needs his head examined. Heksky/Pennerģ other second tier guys went for less than a 3rd and Eaves...if Holland gave up Jarnkrok, he is way less smart than we give him credit for. -

I knew it would be him...ugh. I cant imagine the price was high conaidering prices for other second tier guys... -
He's been atrocious at the NHL level and both of our goalies in GR have been better than him this year at the AHL level. His time as a top prospect is running out.

Mickey...is that you?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=445193 I can't imagine what it would cost us...but he's a Holland type guy with a Holland type contract so im not terribly surprised.

Do Quincey and Smith have a future in Detroit?
achildr1 replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Agreed. Mattias Janmark is tearing up the Elite league at 20 too...I think both those guys are underrated. Our defence prospects are incredible and its arguable, based on what I've read, that Backman could be as good as any of them. Right now though, I'd say the list looks something like this. 1. Sproul...exceeding all expectations. 2. Ouellett/Backman...same type playerr, different league. 3. Almquist In 3-4 years, I'd expect... Dekeyser Sproul Kronwall Ericsson Ouellett. Backman Lol. Facts...facts are sweet. -
For real...he kind of looks like Sean Avery in the face too, wierd.

Lol Why isn't Boyd "The Void" Devereaux signed up?

Who's Ready For Tons of Outdoor Hockey? (Winter Festival and Class
achildr1 replied to drumnj's topic in General
Lol...have one of them myself. To be honest though, SWMBO was right. I'd rather go on a real vacation with muh lady than go to the Classic anyway. I had several chances to purchase tickets and only seriously thought about it last year, before the NHL ruined the specialness by schedule 40 more outdoor games. Plus, I'm not to thrilled about watching the game in that stadium....bad tickets mean you'd be better off watching the game on a tv above a urinal. Ill be happy to see everything up close and personal on TV. I do want to attend one of the OHL/AHL games at Comerica though...if anyone has extra tickets I could purchse, let me know. achildress111@gmail.com -
injured Zetterberg out at least 2 weeks with herniated disc
achildr1 replied to 13dangledangle's topic in General
This is a big deal. I have bad back issues due to herniated discs and I can't fathom playing professional hockey with it. Its not something that really gets better either. Hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Z. -
I'm not surprised. Last year, before the playoffs, I thought the guy's career was over. He looked like he was in his early 40's. I hated the signing for 10 reasons and I can't stand that he's taking a spot from more deserving players.

Moulson is underrated. This guy scores, period. Even if Moulson isn't as good for Buffalo, the trade isn't a huge steal for NYI anyway because Moulson was a legit 30-35 goal guy there. The upgrade isn't that big. Glad to see the Isles going for it but the need a couple more pieces to make them legit contenders.
-
I see what you did there.
-
The Isles really need a veteran dman with offensive upside...I'm sure it doesn't hurt that he shoots right. If the Isles add a couple vets they could really make noise.
-
The Stars owner, I think, just came out and said that they are promised one in the near future. I realized that that will almost certainly be the one Minnesota is involved in. I'm pissed that Washington got it next year but who really cares anyway...they want to have five of them. Its such a joke.

Probert gets 35 goals and 80 points. Still leads league in PIMs.
-
I'm real high on Sproul but even I think a Pietreangelo comparison is far fetched to put it mildly.
-
Ok...so my mind is ready to explode thinking about how good GR is right now and how much better they could be next year. I know we have a ton of guys making the yransition to pro and they can't all play in GR. Question is, who do you guys keep in GR and who do you think gets a ticket to Toledo? I've typed out possible rosters so many times, I don't want to do it again. What I do know thoigh is there are way too many dmen for GR and some peospects that deserve to be in GR will probably be in Toledo. I think Aubry, Jensen, a good goalie prospect, Nedomlel, that kid from the WHL that is always hurt (forgot his name), and possibly a couple others will be in Toledo.

I would definitely argue Illitch over Lindsay as well. He's just responsible for so many more far reaching decisions and actions than a single player can be. He essentially took us from the the grave to a model sports franchise in twenty years and has continued that high level for another 13 and counting. Holland and Yzerman would almost certainly point to him when asked about some of their own successes.
