I think Pavel will stay if he gets the kind of money he thinks he deserves. This link suggests that they got closer. However if he doesn't get what he wants from Holland then I don't think that his chemistry with Hank will prevent him from hitting the free agent market. This also doesn't imply that he is greedy (like some posters here stated), I think most players in their prime are looking for a big contract if they see the chance to get it.

just a quick question for those who were lucky enough to watch yzerman playing in the play offs during the late 80s and the early 90s. (I wasn't that lucky since NHL games weren't really broadcasted here in europe) I always read how yzerman played the best when it mattered the most. I can see from his stats he scored plenty of points during the play offs yet he is a career +/- minus (comparison: sakic / forsberg are both +/- plus in their play off career). actually in only 6 of his 20 play off years he finished with a +/- plus. does anyone have an idea why? thanks

lids is + 27 for career play offs and fedorov is + 38....

I know , don't get me wrong. I always thought steve played outstanding when i saw him play. i just think its strange that his +/- is soo low. but then again +/- might not be really reliable stat to judge a player's performance.

Also, your team can lose in the first round and you can still have a positive +/- if your line scores goal and the other 3 lines play sloppy. just seems very strange to me...
