Every time I type three way, I'm all Bevis and Butthead "Yeah, Lulz, I just said three-way."

I hate the thought of trading Mantha because I don't think he's been given a fair shake at sticking with the team, but he is probably our strongest asset right now. Nyquist's value isn't that diminished. He's just been off to a slow start, which MOST of our forwards have been. He's on pace to generate about the same amount of points -- 17 goals 35 assists -- as last year. The guy's a playmaker not a scorer anyway. Not that it really matters as his NTC becomes voided if he's traded tho' so teams have a lot of flexibility when it comes to Nyquist. The Goose is getting traded now or never essentially. Trade Howard to Calgary for Chad Johnson and a pick. Johnson is the type of veteran backup you want when you give your young future netminder the workhorse status

I don't see how you get three way deal with Leafs and Ducks from that article... Looks like two possible separate deals. No surprise that teams especially the Ducks are scouting Mantha. He was being scouted and asked for in trades last year too. Trading Howard would free up the cap space we need to say... acquire Fowler... but are the Leafs or Flames really looking at Jimmy? ...and to swing this thread back to on topic: I'm going to assume that if you're trading Howard you're upgrading your D. In turn you'd alleviate your crease conflict, solidify Mrazek as your number one -- because well, he'd have to be, and you're going with the sink or swim approach. Does anyone/everyone feel comfortable trading Jimmy right now?

MyNHLTradeRumors is the best place to find legit talk about possible trades. A lot of the other stuff out there is unsubstantiated rumor conjured out of thin air by writers and bloggers who are trying to dream trade scenarios into existence. I've yet to see any talk of three way deal between Ducks, Leafs, and Wings. The only three-way talk I've seen was Jets/Ducks/Wings. Of course, if you've got links to further info., please share!

Buppy, and no offense to you and your opinion, but I'll add "stubborn" to that list. Mantha over Miller may not be a "slam dunk move," but "for the record" putting Mantha in for Drew Miller will generally and probably specifically in the "vast majority of circumstances" increase the likelihood for positive results when it comes to scoring goals. ...and again, I will reiterate: If you are a coach and you put forth a game plan to win games, and you expect results and when you are not getting them, you continue to play them, you ARE part of the problem. Mediocre roster or not. Systems or not. Call their asses out for poor play. Bench them. Coach the damn team.

Yeah, that loss was totally on Jimmy. He let in two goals on how many shots? How many of those shots that were stopped were quality scoring chances? Well, I won't trouble anyone with actual numbers cuz I know stats can be confusing and whatnot , but needless to say, the number of quality scoring chances that Jimmy stopped was much larger than the number of quality scoring chances the team in front of him actually put up against Gustavsson. Me old eyeballs told me so. ...but please, lets continue the narrative that Jimmy Howard is losing us games. So that I can continue getting daily laughs.

I guess not, but unlike a certain team I might watch on occassion, they're not backing away from their youth and the growing pains that might go along with that. You can literally count the guys above age thirty on one hand.

Not that tough. Even for Mr. Miller-Slappy.

We all know that bringing Mantha up starts with waiving some forwards clogging up the works. HEY! Kenny! Listen! It's time to do it. If you love someone, set them free... Bye Drew. You'll always be my boy, but hit the bricks. What do they always say the definition of insanity is... Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Something along those lines? As others have stated previously, it's frustrating to watch Blash be so stubborn with his coaching systems (lines, usage, etc), yet be so lax when execution doesn't come to fruition. If you're sticking to your guns on how we're running the system, then rip the players when they don't execute and perform. Someone said that it isn't Blash's fault that Tatar and Nyquist haven't blossomed into the players we all hoped they be. There's a distinct difference between talent level and performance. Will Nyquist ever be Zetterberg? No. Will Tatar ever be Datsyuk? No. ...but to say that it isn't Blash's fault for holding them accountable within their skillset is BS. They're both capable of playing much better, much more consistently, if they're being held to a higher standard. Which they are most certainly not. Same goes for Glenny, Miller, and Ott -- if the expectation is that they're going to be out there for those tough defensive matchups and they're showing their incapable of doing that job... rip them for not executing. Light a fire under some asses and see what happens. Even if Holland is calling the shots on which players are up and how they're being used, it's Blash's job to ensure that everything is being executed to that plan. If things aren't working that's when you go to your boss and say, "Hey, this isn't working. Can we try ..." Blash is towing the team line without the execution being there and it's not okay.

'Yotes are off to a rough start, but they're "all in" with their youth movement.
-
I'm sure it's just a simple mistake, but every time you bring up Howard his number of games played shrinks.
-
Carolina wants him. They'll only take him off of waivers tho'

I appreciate you highlighting the fact that I was too drunk to know where the puck was... I am also appreciating the fact that Mrazek wanted us all to believe that the puck was somewhere between his leg and arm. I'll also give kudos to DK for sliding Mrazek out of the net. Appreciation all around to errrybodddyyyy!

WTF boys. Are we going to get ourselves set for our power play or are we just going to throw this opportunity away?
-
Oh. I was totally looking in the wrong place... Probably the soda-pops I've had this evening.

Bullllshhhhiiittttt

Can't see it.

Who's backing up Montoya anyway? It's 10 - 0 now. Also: Have the BJ's scored 10 goals in all of their previous games combined?
-
Would you prefer "Howard-haters"? Look. I'm not slurping on either goalie's stick. Nor do I feel like anyone is getting the shaft from either of the duo. Currently, they're both playing exceptionally well for what is needed with the team that plays in front of them. I'm not going to count my chickens before they hatch with Mrazek, nor am I going to dismiss our average/flirts with all-star caliber veteran before he's traded or picked up in the expansion draft. Either is folly. It's just not as black and white as many would like. Not if Holland traded all those firsts for two seconds.
-
I will give the Mraz-slappies this: Blashill named Petr 'the starter' and is heir-apparent to the crease. He should get more starts than Howard. BUT... ...until Howard is traded, and until Mrazek starts playing lights out elite level hockey, we've got a 1A/1B situation and if there's one thing that will keep us competitive it's using our goaltending depth.
