Elite two-way superstar or GTFO.

I don't care if he can drive the play. We've got enough playmakers. We need finishers. I'm hoping to see if Pulkkinen translate his AHL goal-scoring talents into the NHL level. EDIT: Same reason I want Franzen on the ice, if he's healthy and effective.
-
How very "adult" of you.
-
Well, that isn't necessarily going to happen either because Dats won't be ready to go at the start of the season, but I don't disagree that Jurco and Pulks are going to have make or break years, respectively, with this team and where they slot into the lineup.
-
Hey! I take offense to that!
-
I'm discounting the haterz constituency and their opinion.
-
I don't believe you mean that. ...but honestly, if healthy and playing hard... wouldn't it be great to have Franzen in the lineup?
-
What you fail to see, or continue to acknowledge by not just letting it drop, is that no one really cares and everyone is trolling you HARD and you keep asking for and piling on more... ...and just so you know, I'm not just calling out you and you alone for the direction of conversation. ...but I am calling you out for not just letting it drop. It doesn't matter who was asked for... because whether it was Smith, or Larkin, or Mantha, or Pulkkinen or a combination of them and other players, prospects, the Weiss contract, etc. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. So who cares?! Unless someone is trying to say that we should have made the trade for Phaneuf over signing Green? Is someone suggesting that?
-
Well, at least there will be "real" things to talk about??? Yes, I'm totally burying Lefty's connects and how underwhelmed we are by them and which prospects/players were asked for and ultimately not traded. I mean, really... who gives a f***?
-
My god... Training camp/Pre-Season/October can't get here quick enough.

We're going to waive some forwards before we waive Kindl. generalfanager.com has Miele (575k), Ferraro, and Andersson listed on the forward roster counting against the cap. Miele won't be there and one of Ferraro (600k) or Andersson (815k) in all likelihood. So anywhere from 1.175 to 1.49 million in cap space for Jurco if we're starting the year with this 23 man roster: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Nyquist, Franzen, Richards, Tatar, Helm, Abdelkader, Miller, Sheahan, Pulkkinen, Jurco, Glendening, Andersson/Ferraro Kronwall, Green, Ericsson, Quincey, Smith, Kindl, Dekeyser Howard, Mrazek If Datsyuk (most likely) starts the season on LITR and Franzen as well... cap space is a non-issue.

Brendan Savage @BrendanSavage 13m13 minutes ago Teemu Pulkkinen's one-year deal with Red Wings worth $735,000. scraps.
-
...like they care. I mean, this is the difference between having a good GM (one that at least attempts to play within the rules and when stuck between a rock and a hard place, typically does the right thing) and a GM that was always out trying to make the biggest, splashiest off season moves and worrying about the repercussions later much to the detriment of his franchise. ...but as I said, the league doesn't want to punish Philly. To penalize them would be counteractive for their desire for Philly to be successful.
-
Now all that's left for Jurco is scraps of the scraps.
-
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Pronger (contract) and Grossman to for Sam Gagner and conditional pick

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/philadelphia-flyers-trade-chris-pronger-nicklas-grossmann-to-coyotes-for-sam-gagner/ If there's one thing that will happen with each new CBA, it's new and interesting ways to get around the cap. I know we've already seen bad contracts traded for players that may never play in the league again... but now we're seeing players that aren't even in the league (permanent LITR) and are employed by the league! FFS are we reaching a new low? -
There's absolutely no rush to get Jurco or Pulkkinen signed so don't speculate that there's trouble getting them signed... both have stated that they expect deals to get done soon ...and there's more than "tablescraps" left for them, but that isn't the issue either. Both Jurco and Pulkkinen know they aren't due hefty raises and don't expect them because they know how this team works.

I used to love Dan Cleary and this whole situation has kinda turned me off towards him... but I certainly blame Holland as much as I blame Cleary... but this situation would never keep me from going to games.

Winging It In Motown with a good synopsis of why trying to pay Cleary to do nothing is a REALLY BAD IDEA. http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2015/7/17/8982091/getting-to-know-the-cba-paying-players-to-not-play I don't know whether there's been any pushing on his part to have this supposed handshake deal seen through to the end, but I just want Cleary to f***-off at this point.

We are arguing semantics here and it is dumb.

Before the season starts, sure... it's a % of the cap. However when rosters are sorted out for the season and people are waived, re-assigned, put on LITR, etc. Those aforementioned players on perma-LITR: Pronger, Savard, Franzen, Nathan Horton... well... they then don't count against the cap.
