That isn't enough. He really could have adopted a couple other specific roles...like a face-off specialist (I'm thinking of Drapes in his final years) or a Holmstrom tip-in role...or both. He seems completely unaware that he isn't the same player as he was three years ago.

So no change until DD comes back... And then what? Nyquist can't be sent down after he plays two games.
-
It could be that. An occasional short call or a "just passing by" in-person visit from Mr. I could make a ton of difference if it isn't happening this year at all. Also, Jim Nill left as well. We don't really know what is going on in the front office, all we can see is that the results aren't up to the usual high Wings standards.

The Holland/Babcock combo doesn't work anymore. I'd prefer that KH be the one to go/get promoted... But that won't save this season with the damage he's done. A new GM would have to pull a rabbit out of his ass to salvage this one. On the other hand, a simple coaching change could do wonders. I really hate that option, though... One only has to remember the Dave Lewis years to shudder at the idea of a coaching change. Babs is a great coach, I'd keep him over KH in an instant.

No! We must unquestionably follow the team into the black hole Holland is attempting to steer it into!
-
I like the Griffins. You know, the ones that can actually win games?
-
Only if he's given the same amount of creative freedom with what he shows (minus language) as HBO gives. Somehow, I seriously doubt that will happen.
-
Oz says it's obviously severe. He's seen enough of that from the net to tell.

It's like the complete opposite of Franzen

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA It will be so sad.

So then, what's to explain not even bothering to tell Eaves that he had been waived? Oops, Holland forgot?
-
I think its due to Mr. I's disappearance (this was a big story in the Freep a couple of weeks ago). Yes, I know it's his age and health, but the press is picking up on the leadership vacuum. Perhaps Chris isn't picking up the slack, and Holland has free reign now for the first time ever.

Are you farking serious???

Finally, Regier ran the team into the ground. Always nice to see consequences for GMs that deserve it.
-
Babs will dramatically pull the team together by sheer will and coaching skill, much to the delight of the HBO producers.

Good concept, bad graphic.

Ha. Same here, though I think it will continue to evolve and might be worth watching in 10-15 years.

I'd say that he probably doesn't want to let down Wings fans. Stevie could have run for the Governor of Michigan at one point not so long ago. That said, I completely agree with your last point. Just tell us already, ok Steve?
-
Is it possible to loan him out to SEL for a month or two and see if that helps? Yeah, I know he'd have to clear waivers, yes I know its crazy. Just tell me if its possible or not.

Holland: The wings are still learning about the Eastern conference

Holland would be the kid lost out in the woods still looking for the Easter Eggs the next day -
I love this post, you win the forum

Are we faking injuries/illnesses to deal with the roster crunch?
evilmrt replied to matthewdanna's topic in General
Good article, good post. Well, if Franzen has issues like that keeping him back in the NHL, then in the interest of both sides, he really should take the buyout, go play in the SEL again (I'm sure he will immediately improve in a more comfortable environment) and let the Wings move on. Otherwise, sort it out already. -
Meanwhile, I really do hope and yes, even pray, that Rinne makes a full recovery. That is not how we, as Wings fans, want to see anyone go out... Much less one that has been a decent rival in the past. Thanks for the updates.

Wtf??? Is Dan Cleary the secret lovechild of Ken Holland? What is this garbage?

Bottom of the barrel goons. That is all. But hey, in a city like Philly, you don't have to win games to sell tickets, you just have to punch people in the back of the head.
