Came back just to comment on this one, which I just heard about on the radio. Flint gets an OHL team, and the owner pulls some kind of worse-than-bush-league BS. Good on the players for walking out. Has this kind of thing ever happened before? Wings update from freep....

He will have a few games. Under 10 max. I say this because they will want to get his feet wet a bit in the big league...since, barring some huge setback, this will be his only AHL season. He will be in Detroit for 16/17 if his current pace of development holds up. -

He's just loaned back to Portland by the Wings for his fourth season of juniors. I believe they can put him in GR for 9 games though if they choose.

I'm glad this is getting taken care of now, and not mid-season. I wish him a speedy and full recovery. The silver lining is that now Larkin can push for a spot during those first 9 games before he has to be sent down. That will take them to October 30th. Dats should be fine by then. No worries.

The good thing about Arizona is that you can always escape the brutal heat by driving north 90 minutes. Or enjoy some snow in winter and leave at the end of the day and go back to the Valley. Anyway, the Coyotes saga is a mess. The only way this team can be saved is if they leave Glendale and move back downtown or to hatch a plan to share a new rink with the Sun Devils, who need to build one pretty soon anyway. The location doomed them from the start.

Nhl declares war on Glendale after city council votes to terminate Coyotes lease, retaliates by suing them for 200 million. This is going to end badly for someone. Just move the team already. Geez.
