Hmm, Dallas and Columbus are the main threats, while Minnesota doesn't seem to want to get into the playoffs anymore. They're dropping like a rock, and hopefully open up another spot. -
Yep, Jokerit bombed out of the playoffs, after finishing the SM-liiga season in #1. Surprised he didn't get here two weeks ago when that happened.

Was sitting during the lockout a factor here? Jumping back into the league when you're not in game-shape can open up the door to injury like this. Other Wings have admitted recently that perhaps they shouldn't have sat during the lockout (was it Howard who was especially vocal about this?). I wonder if this hurt Helmer. Oh well, hopefully he gets a fresh start in the fall.

I see what you're saying, and I agree on one hand.....but on the other hand, you have to factor in the demoralization of missing the playoffs for the first time since before Dekeyser, Lashoff, and Nyquist were even born. That is a big factor worth considering. -
Wouldn't Cordeau be a replacement for Pearce on the depth chart? Kid is done, he'll be 27 this fall and hasn't amounted to diddly. Let a real prospect start in Toledo...?

Wings drop to 8th and have a 3 point cushion. However, all the teams competing for 8th also have tough schedules as well. Blah.

The Blues are about the bounce the Wings down to 8th, they're 1 point behind with two games in hand. Good thing we play them on Sunday, then. Big game at stake. Also breathing down the Wings' necks... EDM (no games against remaining) CBJ (no games against remaining) PHX (game against on 4/22) NSH (game against on 4/14 and 4/25) I'm not liking this at all. -
There is a big difference between Wings fans that love the game, and people who are just Wings fans and nothing more. I think the former is the true fan, while the latter is the bandwagoner, or perhaps a new fan. Anyway, back on topic, the so-called "news" about Crosby came from a Philly radio sports host, and hasn't been confirmed by anyone anywhere.

Depends on who steps up here in the final stretch. For instance, we have zero players on the Wings in the top 50 goal scorers list. The team sits at 21st in total goals scored, 21st on the PP, and 21st on the PK. That isn't good enough, period.
