Amazing. I expected Bettman to be a ******, but not like that...not of epic proportions. And seriously? What was the point of the interview if he was just going to make personal attacks on Ron MacLean? He didn't ask anything that was out of order from a JOURNALISTIC standpoint. Good interviews involve hard questions, and Bettman felt like he deserved a pass. WRONG. You're the commissioner, Gary, so YOU answer the questions. You're living in a fantasy land if you think everythings great with the NHL. Sure, things are better than before, but you're still on the bottom rung of all pro sports leagues in the US (after once being more popular than the NBA). I guess he forgot about that. We'd never see anything like this on Versus or NBC.

I'd say its disappointing that the only Western city is Vegas. The NHL is not doing so hot in this half of the country, is it? Also, what about moving the Blue Jackets over to Indianapolis?

I'm going to have to say Lids would be the harder retirement to take. His play in his later years has been excellent, and he still is one of the best in the league. Yzerman was even more valueable than Lidstrom at his peak, but declined sharply in the last part of his career. I remember in the 90s though, whenever Stevie was injured...it seemed like the whole team was lost without him, and just played miserably. Once he would come back, they were great. Thats how I remember it!

Yeah, that was the idea (Cobo expansion). I guess the funding isn't there for ANYTHING at the moment. I haven't been home to Michigan in quite a while, but I can't imagine that much has improved. I'm disappointed that they're signing a "multi-year" lease agreement. Ilitch's man Tom Wilson said this: So they're just going to keep everything as it is, because they can't have a brand new arena right now. I would have preferred to move the Wings up to the Palace of Auburn Hills for a year (play the preseason in Windsor, maybe), and renovated the Joe. Come on, its a mess. Lots of great memories there...but some "quick" temporary fixes should be done! Most here agree with me on three things...uncomfortable seating, poor lighting and dank conditions in the concourse and throughways (getting to the parking garage is like going through a dungeon!), and outdated (troughs?!?)/ inadequate restrooms. I'm sure you guys can come up with more things. But those seem to be the biggest issues with the Joe. Are you telling me that you couldn't take care of those issues with a year's worth of renovation???? Speaking of Windsor...and this is just a crazy, random idea...but if the City of Detroit cannot get its act together with the Cobo/Joe/new arena issue, what about Windsor? The Freep article briefly touched on moving to another market, which is never happening. But, how about taking them across the river? I know its not ideal, but lets assume it came down to either that, or moving them up to the Palace. Yeah, the border issues would be killer, but the new bridge project is going through the Michigan legislature. Maybe the NEXUS crossing program could help, too.

I don't like this. This guy played better than Howie in the AHL at times. Now, Babs/Holland might be making a mistake here...that long stretch from Feb to the end of the season where Ozzie didn't play one game? Fine, Ozzie was in a huge slump. Why wasn't Dan Larsson called up for even ONE GAME instead?

AH CRAP! I waited to see who would play the Coyotes and I got burned. Now its off to Craigslist or Ebay or something to try to get tickets. Also, theres plenty of Blackhawks fans here who will double as Coyotes fans just to spite the wings. I hope you guys realize that.

The Kings need a new logo or color scheme or something. They're a good team this year, but for some reason, seem to be forgotten easily. Those colors just don't stand out in my mind...lol. Obviously, I'd rather see the Wings play the Coyotes in round 1.

I'm gonna have to agree with the "winners prosper" sentiment. This is the 5th largest city in the nation, yet is is a non-traditional hockey market. It requires a winning team to gain attention, and its been EIGHT long years since a playoff berth. With Gretzky finally gone, and Tippet running the show...I think things are finally looking good for the Yotes. If they make a decent run this playoffs, and look good next year as well (I don't know why not), they have a good chance of turning things around financially. I'm sorry, but if the NHL can't succeed in the 5th largest city in the US, they're doing it wrong.

I'm going to guess that alot of Yotes fans are pissed to see Mueller go...but seriously, hes pitiful for a 8th overall pick...obviously hes not working with Dave Tippett's system. Kind of a shame. Wolski should add some needed scoring for the playoffs, though.
