Anyone have any idea who the band is that is performing in the "April In The D" commercial running on FSN Detroit? It must be a Detroit local I would think - wondering who it is.
-
I would have to say that other than Ken & Mickey, my favorite commentator duos in the NHL are Paul Steigerwald (sp?) & Bob Errey (yes, THAT Bob Errey) in Pittsburgh & then Dave Strader & Darren Pang in Phoenix.

Thanks Jon. I work in the music industry. I had never seen the band before so I wondered who it was, that's all.

The Spirit aren't done yet! Only down 2-0, both games were 1 goal games, both on the road. Next 2 are at home where they play quite a bit better. Plus, it's 1/2 price beer at the arena for the 2 home games!!! How can they NOT win?

Yeah, I am watching it - it wasn't necessarily 'dirty'... he could have pulled up & not hit him so hard, but it was something that happens. Mitchell immediately put his hand on Foster as if to say "Oh crap! Are you ok?" & showed immediate concern for Foster. They just gave an update that it is NOT a neck or back issue, it is a leg injury. Just a note - the Wild team members were all huddled around Foster when he was down & being put on the stretcher & it was really nice to see Jeremy Roenick in there from San Jose showing extreme concern & was trying to help. He was going to help lift him onto the stretcher... he was there the whole time Foster was down. Nice to see some mutual respect from the players.

POST OF THE YEAR!

Incredibly sad news. Being a fan of the Saginaw Spirit, I was lucky enough to have seen him play on many occassions. He was the epitome of what a hockey player is. Always gave 110% & was a great plaer, and even moreso, it sounds like he was a very stand-up guy who was loved by everyone. Prayers & thoughts go out to him & his family, friends & teammates.

Just saw that one tonight during the Montreal/Philly game. Laughed pretty good at that one. Especially when he says "poke check" & then says "nice try No-goal-ov"!!!

Anyone else find that funny? I am laughing out loud to myself at that typo... or maybe it wasn't a typo, making it even funnier!

I have found Spector to be pretty reliable over the years.

Step 1: Make an offer for Kari Lehtonen. Atlanta wouldn't match (they have Pavelec). Step 2: Get SOMEONE on his ass IMMEDIATELY to leave the Twinkies alone & get his ass in shape! SOMEONE will be able to stay on this kid & keep him going in the right direction (he's only 24 - he CAN be taught yet!) Step 3: Have a nice day.

Anyone in Mid-Michigan (Saginaw area) getting the NHL Network on Dish network??? I am living around Saginaw & I have Dish Network AND Center Ice, but NO NHL NETWORK!!! Really want to get this channel! Bastards!

This is not what you are looking for, I am sure, but for me coming from up near Saginaw, I only make it down a couple times a year, and I highly recommend to anyone a stay at the Marriott in the Ren Cen - get your room, hop the People Mover & explore the city a bit. If you have time (& want to) you can stop & take a quick nap & then just go back down to the People Mover & head back to the Joe!

This is CRAP! Why is Downey not playing on the PP?? Hope everyone can smell that..... it's sarcasm...

What does a wheel with ponytails have to do with Detroit?

Wings win 1-0 in OT on a Chelios goal 1:18 into Ot. Assists to Datsyuk & Homer.

He plays for the same team as #61 there, Moozak (Mursak).

Torquato will be the steal of the draft for Detroit. Had the pleasure to watch him play here in Saginaw the past two years (alongside 2006 Wings pick Jan Mursak). He will rack up some goals, will go into the corners if needed, will get back defensively - a good player! More than a point a game last season in the OHL (in only his 2nd year in the league). Good player. The comparisson I saw of him to Mike Sillinger is dead on - except maybe add a little more fire power to Torquato! As for the "assult conviction" - do not start on that, please! That was a HUGE story all season here in Saginaw. It appears to be more of a case of someone (a girl) doing some things that she later regretted with 5 hockey players (including last years 1st rd pick for New Jersey, Matt Corrente). After her parents found out they filed charges because their 'innocent' daughter would NEVER have been a part of anything like this... anyway, it was a MISDEMEANER & the players all got 2 years probation. It's not like he killed someone or anything. The story was blown out of proportion.
