Did Fedorov really only retire three years ago?
-
Why did Detroit draft him then?
-
I'm fairly certain he knows the difference, forum posting (especially via phone) lends to simple errors.

There's not as much generational talent because the pool is so deep. As you pointed out, goalies are far too good to have 80's type scoring, but that also goes for defensemen and team defense, and coaching. The talent is better, there's just too much of it.

You said the article was a joke, then your advice was just a summary of the article, so you basically agree with him. Minus the incoherent ramblings at the end of your post.

I believe because it's widely known that one cannot become a professional athlete while being lazy, rationally thinking people understand when used in the context of pro sports, lazy is a relative descriptor. Mantha is likely not lazy compared to me, but he may be compared to Chelios, and that is the argument as to why someone with first line potential could result in a bust. Truthfully, I know nothing about Mantha and don't have an opinion, but I think Franzine is awesome. (I'm feminizing it because he's awesome, not sucky. Like Henrietta Zetterberg and Juanita Toews. Alright my pandering is probably offensive too so I'm done.)

2015 SCF : Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Mckinley25 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Well I don't want a rotation, I just want other teams to win naturally, I can certainly say that Chicago deserved to win the cup, and that's how it should be, I just wish teams like St. Louis and Washington had been able to put together championship teams for their fans. -

I look at it like this; its a tremendous amount of fun to have the team you root for win the cup. Chicago fans have enjoyed that a lot, just like us, if we don't win it I always want a team that hasn't won it to have that experience. Tampa wasn't ideal, but preferable to Chicago. I'm also not in a place to make sweeping judgements about fan bases, every town has wonderful fans, and children who want to see their team win. It's greedy for me to want Detroit to win every year, but I'm a flawed human being. -
NBC Sports chairman wants NHL ban playoff beards
Mckinley25 replied to HadThomasVokounOnFortSt's topic in General
Haha, don't wannabe, wannabes I guess. Idk anything about that crap. I'm just going to go sit down with my craft beer and hammer dulcimer and laugh at people with waxed mustaches. -

Because he put hipsters in quotations I read it as people with wax mustaches are not real hipsters. I guess they're wannabes. -
I feel like people just run out of ideas to write about and this is the result.

That's why I have no opinions on the civil war.

WCF : (3) Chicago Blackhawks vs. (1) Anaheim Ducks
Mckinley25 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Except that as fans we have no control (virtually) over how good the team is. It's not like I'm Howard hoping Mrazek does poorly so Im the better of the two options. All we have is hope. And again it's sports, when you're rooting for random people for random reasons doing random things, logic is meh... -

I agree on the Penguins, but I just want the Cup wherever it's been the least recently. (Outside of Detroit obviously, it can be there every year.). Ideally I'd like to see a cup final with two teams that have never won. Winning the cup is fun for a fan, I'd like to see fans get that experience that never have had it if the Wings can't win. -

For me it just comes down to not wanting a team to have success that rivals the Wings stretch of success. Because it's sports, and it can be emotional, so Go Ducks! Then go rangers! -
Coaching Search Thread a.k.a. the Jeff Blashill Thread
Mckinley25 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Godcock, wow. This place sometimes. So those of you that watch the Griffins regularly, does Blashill have a discernible coaching style? Does he talk about his methodology? Is he well spoken, intelligent? -
I certainly hope he does win a cup, I think he's amazing, he just needs a better team, and Washington may be on the way to becoming that.

Are the next 3 in Grand Rapids now?
-
Well anybody would take an Ovechkin, but you need more than that to win, there's a reason Z and Toews have cups and Ovi doesn't. Part of it is the leadership that those two brought to their respective teams, there's also coaching, defense, goaltending etc., point being an Ovi doesn't necessarily make or break a cup run. Replace Franzen with Ovi we still win, replace Z with Ovi, we might not have. Replace Z with Ovi now maybe we haha.
-
I think in today's game you need to be defensively responsible to be a leader, because you're leading, and that means succeeding at what you want the rest of the team to do. You need to be clutch on both ends of the ice. I suppose there are examples to the contrary, but it's how the Wings succeeded, also the Hawks with Toews. It was a bit different in Gretzky's day.

Though with art and creativity, some of the best stuff was the result of oppression. Just take a look at the films from Eastern Europe that were banned in the 50's, 60's and 70's, the most brilliant art ever committed to celluloid. It's a terrible reason to oppress, obviously and I'm disappointed in Fetisov. It's going to be a monumental task to create a culture shift in Russia, the roots are so deep. If they could get away with it they would, that ideology is only a short stroll from the one Fetisov is supporting.

Nicklas Lidstrom co-authors scientific paper in Sweden

If it's predictable it's hardly a pseudo-science, that's actually one of the staples of real science.
