I still say the team is fine, and that there arn't really any needs to make changes, but kinda off of what Seth said, if it can help the team go playoff time, I'm up for it.
-
Agreed Wingsfan27. Giving up Hudler for an old guy is not worth doing, unless it's through free agency or waivers.
-
Anyways, I really highly doubt that Ottawa will trade anybody on their lineup for Bootland. Nobody is worth giving up for Bootland that I can see.
-
I agree with Heaton, the Wings won't trade any of their starters, being how the good the team is right now. Unless things go south, which they won't, then a trade will me made.
-
I think that Richardson's days are pretty much near over. He just doesn't seem that same out there at all.
-
Shouldn't we try to be trading away only 3rd or 4th round picks as the highest picks to trade away? I'm only asking, because the Wings are way to well known to trade away there highest picks, especially the 1st round pick from recent years in trading.
-
Also, Tkachuk wouldn't be here for long, so pass. Like I've been saying, going with the younger guys is the way the Wings need to start going to keep up with the other teams in the league.
-
Pass. Defense is much better now that Kronwall's back.
-
Thanks J-Swift. Now after reading that, Penner's not the type of guy at all the I want to see Detroit pick up.
-
I would have to say that the only person we should go for is Walker, because he's a young guy that can help the team in the future.
-
I'd also take Gauthier, because I would like to see some open ice hitting, and we could use a tough like defenseman that Lilja hasn't been, which I was hoping he would be.
-
Tkachuk would look good in a Winged wheel, but he's getting old. I'd only rather have him here if we can get him for a decent cheap price, which probably wouldn't happen.
-
I like the fact that he's a good performer in the playoffs, and I totally agree with you on that Barnes52, but the guy like you said is 35 years old. I'd trade for a guy who'll want to stick around for the next 3-4 years, and is somewhat young. Trading for old guys is something that the Wings need to start cutting out on doing. When we trade, we need guys who'll stick around for another 1-2 years. We can't keep getting old when the teams in our division are getting younger.
-
I mean even if we did do a trade with Ottawa, I'd rather trade for a defenseman than a forward.
-
Does anybody know how good this Pinner guy is supposed to be and what kinda role he's supposed to be on teams?
-
I don't know if it's because people hate Weight, but I don't see the need in having him here. Yeah, Weight would look good in a Winged wheel, but he's not getting any younger either, and even though I love the Wings, and want them to do whatever is possible for us to get the Cup each year, I really don't want to bring in the older guys like we have been doing the past few years.

Well if worse comes to worse with Osgood in the net during the playoffs, when Manny has his rare breaks here and there, then I'd just call up Howard. I'd rather not trade for another goalie, and like I said before, riding out both Osgood's and Legace's contracts and then working on the position during the upcoming offseason would be the better idea. So again, if needs be, I'd say that we should just call up Howard. But you're right Shannty14, and Osgood's past flaws have made me feel somewhat nervous too.
-
Believeable or not, a link would be nice, and even you'd agree with that Barnes52.
-
Then the only way that I would like to see the Wings get him back is through free agency, or by claiming him off of waivers, if the Blues would ever make a crappy move like that.
-
Pass. I like Sundin, but he's old. The last thing I want to see now if we do make a trade, is to trade for a guy who's a few years away from retiring. If we make a trade, it should be for a young guy who'll be with the team for a good long time.
-
Keep the goalies we have now, and work on improving the position during the upcoming offseason. Not worth messing with at this point of the season.
-
I'd take Lukowich. I usually favor stay at home defenseman when it comes to trading, and he's proved himself to be okay. Wouldn't be a bad move, and like you said, wouldn't cost to much to get him.
-
I say that we keep Bootland, because in a year or two, he's going to be our McCarty, and the team needs one right now. Anybody starts crap with our stars, Bootland will kick their asses.
-
Looking at this forum again, I guess that I'd pass on all of them, because I don't believe that any moves are needed as of now.
