    Hockey Card Help Please

You're right, the card sesaon for the beckett would be 02-03, but it says $300. I got my beckett in Borders, a huge retail book store, and it had pretty much every company that made hockey card since the beginning, and they listed like 4x more of the cards then the smaller beckett does. I can't find it right now though, because my family and I are in the process of moving, but when I do, I'll let you know the name of the huge beckett book that I have.

    Hockey Card Help Please

I know for Zetterberg's rookie card for 01-02 rookie card for Private Stock was listed, and it said that it was worth $300. I haven't looked at a Beckett since then due to college, and I need to get on that again, but that's how much it was worth the year before, so meaning it shouldn't be to much lower for your card.

Wings acquire D Cory Cross from Penguins

I hope not. I would like to see Cross stay here in Detroit if he starts to play really good. I'm kinda bored with trading for players at the trade deadline, and then letting them walk away to another team. Some of them weren't a bad choice to let them go, but some were. The only problem with my thought on Cross is that he is kinda old.

Wings acquire D Cory Cross from Penguins

Yeah, after watching last nights game, the acquisition of Cory Cross was a good one. I do also agree that being with a team that's a contender for the cup will really help his get his game back.

Wings acquire D Cory Cross from Penguins

I read in my local newspaper that Cross is downed on by people though because of the lack of how much he uses his body as a big player. I only hope that Bobcock and the coaching staff can encourage him to use his body.

    Tyson Nash a Wing?

Wouldn't be a bad thing if he was here, but I don't think that our team needs to do any trading this year, and therefore to answer Heaton's question, 1 for a bad thing if this is really in the works.

I believe for this season that we're set for goalies, and we pretty much are. Eklunds site to me has only proved bulls**t for the brief 5 months that I've looked at it.

    Chelios to the Canadiens?

It won't happen. He's here to stay for the rest of the year, especially after the great work he's done for us all year on the penalty kill. Sources like that also need to tell why and how they got that idea.

    Former 'next one' waived

None the less, he's a great player, and if he's picked up, it's probably going to be by a team that's not far back from making the playoffs.

    Former 'next one' waived

Yeah, that sucks that he's gone, but it happens. I posted the guy who took his spot on the team in General Discussion, and this forum should probably be moved there.

    Luongo

Totally pass. No need for Luongo here.

ducks behaving as if trading giguere

I'm not reading into it, and I could really care less what the other teams do with their players. I was just saying that his statement was being talking about in General Discussion.

StaticWithABeat just started that question in the forum that I posted about the trade in the Genearl Discussion forum.

    calgary trade proposal

Agreed Heaton. Making that kind of trade could come back and bite us in the ass. I think that team is fine. If Holland makes a move, it's for the best. I trust Holland every year to get us to the Finals.
  16. fatcat6

    What you think?

I like Williams, and I believe that he should stay here. Getting rid of Hudler wouldn't bother me whatsoever. I'm fine with all of the players that'd come to Detroit except for Dave Scatchard. To me, the guy's a bum. He's never done a whole lot in his career and has never impressed me.

    Keith Tkachuk

Well with the cap being a part of hockey and all, I have to do the evaluating thing of players. Look at their stats. Who have they played for. What their achievements are. Etc. With basketball and football man, holy crap it's so easy for me to agree with what a player gets and if it right cool and if it's to low or high, I *****. But now that it's in hockey, I have to really think. A I'm not doing so well, because it's a whole new thing. So yeah, Heaton's right, and you're right with your opinion. I was kinda thinking about it in terms I guess of like starting goalie with starting quarterback, and with Legace being a backup most of carrer and now a starter, I thought that he might of made around 1 million this year.

    Keith Tkachuk

Well sorry to disapoint you, but I'm not a math major. And I don't really give a holy damn on how much they make. All I care is that we get good players so we can get the Stanley Cup every year. The only reason I don't care about what they make now, is because the cap is bigger next year. So yes, I didn't know how much he made this year, and that's my fault. But at the same time I don't care. All that matters to me is seeing our players hold up the Stanley Cup. So if Legace's back, he's back. Just take easy dude, I wasn't being a jerk or anything, I was just stating my opinion.
  19. fatcat6

    Keith Tkachuk

Also, we'd have to give up to much for Tkachuk since we don't have a lot of cap space left.

    A little bird said....

Well if we can get a descent blueline guy for the price of Jiri Hudler, I'm up for it, but only if he's going to stick around for the next few years. And the guy we trade for, will still have a year or two left on his contract, unless we can have him sign one for the offseason if he is to become a free agent. The only person that doesn't want to trade Hudler is NN, and I can totally see why, because Hudler will and can be a very good player, but personally, I think Hudler's taking to long to develpe and there won't be a spot left on the roster for him when he does. Just my personal opinion.

TSN Backchecking: Wings interested in Carney

Van Ryn actually might not be so bad here in Detroit. He's really proved himself in Florida, the only that I've heard, is that he's slow on his progress with uping his game. Now even with knowing that, and the veterans that we got, they could really help him with his game, and he could become a defenseman that we need him to be. The only reason that his game progress suffers now is because there is no veteran defenseman to help him in Florida.

    Detroit interested in Giguere?

I agree with Dallas27, and really, lets just all drop the damn trash talking here. I you don't like the forum and think that it's bogus, then don't read it. Don't like the link, then go to another forum. Let's stick to the title subject which is what this perticular forum is all about. Could Detroit be interested in acquiring Giguere? To me, it's possible, but I highly doubt that Holland will go after him during this season. The only reason to me that Giguere was good, was because of his huge monster pads. With pads that huge, how the hell do you exspect to score a goal on the guy?Now notice without them, he pretty much flops. I don't see a need for him, and we got some pretty damn good goalie's in the minors that are basically a year or two away from the NHL. So pass on Giguere, and take care of what needs to be done with the goaltender position during the upcoming free agency period, or go with the flow with our guys in Grand Rapids.
  23. fatcat6

    Keith Tkachuk

Legace will do good, and he'll do whatever he can to have us win the cup. About the money thing though, he might get only 1.5 million at best. And yes, Legace has been good, but I kinda disagree on him being the best goaltender for all the past few years. You can't compare him to starting goalies, because he only has the stats for a backup goaltender. After this you, you can kind of compare him to other starting goalies. I will say that he's beyond average, but not the greatest.
  24. fatcat6

    Detroit interested in Giguere?

Totally pass on all three players. I really like Carney, but he's old. No trades are needed, and I agree, just have faith in Babcock, because he's done a really good job here. Giguere to me is not a great goaltender, and the only reason he was good that one year when he made it to the Stanley Cup Finals is because he had those big ass pads. Salei to me is old and slow.

    TSN rumors

I'd take Rivet, Vandermeer, Jackman, and Walker, but wouldn't take Souray or Witt.
