    Turco Contract Extension

Turco has been said to be a big part of their future for the past couple of years as well, so him signing that contract extension is really no surprise to me.

    My speculation

I don't see the need for getting Loungo or any other goalie at this point. I know that Osgood and Legace have let in some soft goals in the past, but our team is still playing really well. I think as long as they play like they did in Minnesota, we'll be fine.

    Ric Jackman wants out!

I've heard that Jackman's got potential, but I'd pass on him. Can't see him replacing anybody in our lineup either. Even more know with Kronwall coming back.

    Trade Osgood?

San Jose would not trade Nabakov for just Hudler and Osgood. No way. I can't ever see that happening. You'll need a cheap player or a mid to low pick in that deal going to San Jose for just Nabakov. I also don't want to see Nabakov here, because the shoulder that he had operation on hasn't been the same since then. If you can get the puck up high towards that operated shoulder, you can score if your shot is fast enough, because his speed with that shoulder has gone down. That could be a problem throughout the season, and I don't want to have him out because he goes down because of that shoulder again.

    Shane Doan

I wouldn't mind having Doan here in Detroit, but the only way I'd like to see him brought here is through free agency.

Ex wings may join new teams

I'd rather bring Kozlov back if it's the case of seeing Kozlov or Lapointe by chance coming back to Detroit. I like Lapointe, but he's not what he used to be after he left Detroit. Kozlov has he's scoring touch back, and we could use him going into the playoffs to score key goals. I'd only want Lapointe back if part of it is to be like McCarty was for us as the "Big Brother." Of course meaning if anybody were like to hit Lidstrom hard, he'd get on the ice and kick that guys ass. That's the main reason I'd want him back, but in reality, that's not part of trading I don't think.

Doug Weight to Detroit next year

I still don't understand why people think we need Weight here. But don't get me wrong, I do understand in a good degree. My point is that the guy is not going to produce the points that he was once able to do. Grant it, he's a great hockey player in my mind. I just think that age is starting to catch up with him, and he might turn out to be a dissapointment. I like Weight, I really do, but at this point, I don't want him here. I'd rather go with a mini-youth movement type thing right now with our team, and get younger.

    Bykov?

No thanks on bringing Bykov back. The guy ran away from the NHL anyways. He was okay, but yeah, a little better then Kuznetzov. I'm kinda glad he's gone. Plus, like some people said, he can go to St. Louis if he wants to return to the NHL.

    Rivers to Toronto?

Thanks for putting that up, because I didn't think that it was going to happen, because I've seen nothing about it on any sites that it was ever going to happen any time soon.

    Detroit interested in Weight?

Good point. Anyways, I really do think that the Wings need to start getting younger in practically all of the positions, to be as fast as the other teams that we play a lot. I would like to Weight here, but Detroit needs to get on with a youth movement sometime here in the near future. Not in a huge way, just a little way. Get the team a little younger.

    A trade proposal to Washington

Now that I look at this again, to trade Franzen would be a mistake. He's going to be a really good part of this teams future in the next few years. Mowers, go ahead and trade the guy. No ones going to miss him. And I'm not a fan giving away our 1st round pick after having our first last year thanks to the lock out, and it was our first in like what, 3-4 years? (I really don't know that time length) I really don't want Witt here though, because he's somewhat old, and Pettinger would be fine. I'd like Pettinger here, but for a one on one trade, I don't have the slightest clue what it would take to land him.

    Anaheim not done trading.....

Even with that though, we have enough wings and centers on our team, and if we acquire him, who's going to take Mowers spot as the odd man out? Anyways, I still say this team could use a defenseman than a forward.
  13. fatcat6

    Trade Osgood?

Actually, I'd like to bring Legace back, and go out and get another goaltender by free agency. I say this, because I've heard that Howard is the only decent goaltender in our minor league team, so I would say sign Legace to a one-year contract, and the other person, whomever that may be, to like a two or three-year contract. Have Howard be in the minors for one more year, and then bring him up the next year, and let Legace go.

    Draper to Toronto For Allison?

The trade idea doesn't make a whole lot of sense anyways, like some of us have said already. Anyways, hasn't Allison been bumbed out for a while now? Why trade basically the best defensive forward in the game for an old washed up forward. We all know Holland pretty well for what he does, and we all know that he wouldn't do something as stupid as this.
  15. fatcat6

    Rivers to Toronto?

The Maple Leafs just called up defenseman Andy Wozniewski from their minor league club. So I now wonder if this was just a silly rumored trade. I'll give Toronto till tomarrow to see if it will happen, but I seriously think that it was never meant to really be anything now.
  16. fatcat6

    trade idea w/ buffalo

I'm kinda not sure if I would want to give up Hudler, but I can see why you named him. And a second round pick seems a tiny bit high. If we could get Biron for Osgood, good deal. But I'm not to sure about Numminen. He's way to old for me to want him to be a Wing now. For the most part, good idea.

Doug Weight to Detroit next year

Even though I was accused of not posting links today by like 7 different people, I have to agree. A link is needed. But in general opinion, who wouldn't want to come and play in Detroit.
  18. fatcat6

    Jovo,Chara or Redden?

Redden, because he's the smaller and faster player of the three.

    Rivers to Toronto?

Topic already started in General Discussion Forum.

Rumor? Wings trying to aquire Roloson

I'd rather not have Roloson, because he's never really impressed me. I think that would be a mistake to acquire him. Keep Legace and Osgood for now.
  21. fatcat6

    Trade Osgood?

Either way, I don't give a damn. He's not as bad as everybody thinks. To me, he's done okay. And no, he does not always get in the way. And you also complain that he's' slow. Yeah, when your that big, you're gonna be slow. It's like saying in basketball that because Yeo Ming's good, he should be as fast as Dwayne Wade. Lilja's not going to be as fast as Draper or Dastsyk, because of his size. I like Lilja, and maybe it's because I may be "too" much of a wings fan in some peoples opinion. He's done well, and he's played good for the Wings thus far. His contract is also done after the end of the season, so if he doesn't come back, he doesn't, and I'm not going to cry over it either. All I'm saying is as far as this season goes, except Lilja for the way he plays.
  22. fatcat6

    Ryan Malone

I know that buddy. It was only an "idea". Don't make me stress out that word for you buddy.
  23. fatcat6

    Anaheim not done trading.....

Well Woolley isn't a bad player either. I mean the guy was moving up more than any defenseman did the year we acquired him. He scored like 2 or 3 times in his first two games as a wing because he moved up, which is now part of the process of playing under Babcock's style of play. I like Woolley, because he's better than I had once thought that he was. And for those think that Woolley's going to retire, he's not. He's got hockey left in him. Woolley should be on the third line though in my opinion, but he on the second line of crushal moments.

    My Speculation: Wash/Buff/NJ

Well also, Biron also becomes a free agent after this season, and if all works out, he could come here, but I'd rather not see Biron in Detroit, but that may all change come free agency time. I like Osgood and Legace right now, and I'll just roll with the punches till the end of the year.
  25. fatcat6

    Ryan Malone

I could go with trading Mowers and Lilja for Malone and Jackman, but not Lang. Pittsuburgh is going through a young rebuilding process, and Lang isn't what they need right now. Anyways, I like Lang here. I still think that he's a really good player with hockey left in him. I'd rather give the Pinguins a really late round pick in Lang's place, but that's me. So therefore, I say Lilja, Mowers, and a sixth-round pick in 2007 for Malone and Jackman.
