    Trade in the Works

For the most part, J-Swift is right. The trade sounds to far fetched. We all have to keep in mind that Holland only has $1 million at the most to use if he wants to do "any" move. So getting rid of Legace and acquiring Kubina and Kasparaitis would put us way over the cap limit. So with the cap space that we have left, Kubina and Kasparaitis both are out of the question by a long shot. In general thoughts though, Kubina would look good in a Winged Wheel. Are for as Kasparaitis, I don't want him here. One, I'm not a big fan of him, and two, I think his good days are gone. He showed me much more talent in his early days in Pittsburgh. And when it comes to Rivers and Cleary, I'm sorry, but nobody is going to want to trade for Rivers, and only if a team is deperate to try something else, they might make a pitch for Cleary, but the return wouldn't be any better with what we get. You really need to think about the salary cap, because that is what is hurting the Wings from doing anything.

    Lidstrom to Dallas?

Point taken, and sorry for being an ass. At least give me credit for owning up to it. I wasn't trying to sound all might over you. That's just a reading mistake that all people accidently do around the world with what they think the other person's tone of voice is. I looked at what you said again, and I now wonder, in your opinion, is there any other team if Holland were to trade Lidstrom that "you" would like to see him trade to instead of Boston? Maybe Ottawa or Calgary? I know Calgary may be a bad choice, because the team always gives up hell, but what do you think? The Philadelphia idea still seems far fetched, but the idea is right. Hey, if we could pull of the Columbus trade that people were thinking, maybe it would work. Maybe getting rid of Williams is not such a great idea though. Oh, and I wasn't trying to answer to you. I'm sorry that you got that impression of me. I was just commiting and being very detailed, because that's how I am. So therefore, it comes out that way. How about this, take my two or three questions, and if you want, let me know about them? Sorry to piss you off and get on the wrong foot.

Lidstrom To Vancouver?- Who You Trying To Kid

Alright, so I opened up a stpuid conversation guys. My bad, and I'll except blame for it, but remember that I won't be the first and last person to open up a chessy forum. Thhirteen_89, my point was either way, if the guy heard it or heard a false report, he should check on it before posting it. Yeah, I was rude, but lifes about learning from mistakes, and that's what I'll do. If you like Lidstrom dude, would you just stand around and listen to people who don't like him complain about it? I wouldn't. I would say that I disagree nicely and walk away. And RedWings1914, what is there to learn dude? Are yoiu suggesting that I ask him questions on why he put that up? Either way, it's none of my business in my point of view. And like I just said, I was being a jerk, and it was wrong. But for both of you, we all agree we're wings fans, so when someone like me does this, give more of an explination, so if I were to open up another conversation, I know what not to do next time. Don't be blank and down on the person. Help them out a little. So if you really want me to explain what I meant even more, ask me that question, and explain why you are confused. That's more helpful to me. Fightfan24, so can say all you want dude, but nobody is going to take you seriously. If you want to try to put me down with what you say on the Internet, fine, try. It's not going to bother me either way dude. I don't take those things into consideration when I write. This cite is not for people like you who want to bully people because you got it bad. This cite was built for wings fans that can relate and discuss things on a day to day basis.
  4. You know, if my eyes were correct and not decieving me, I do believe that I saw Lidstrom play Tuesday night, December 6, 2005 against the New Jersey Devils. I'm pretty damn sure I saw him. And yeah dude, I'm making fun of you. Don't open a discussion board on then close it. If you did it because you "thought" you heard it on the radio, and then closed the board, cool. But don't to it to make everybody mad. If you did hear it, you should always check espn on tv or the internet to double check and make sure, because doing what you did probably pissed a lot of people off.

    Goalie move

I agree, I think we're jumping the gun if we ship Legace. I really can't see why we would. If we do in the near future, it only means that Holland knows something about Fischer that we all don't. Legace is good, and I really don't want my starting Red Wings goalie to be Osgood. I understand there is a log jam of goalies in Grand Rapids, but hey, it's life. I think things are fine as they are, and this losing streak is just basically everyone getting used to the new rules. To me, trading Legace would be a very questionable move in my opinion for the Wings and the future or the rest of this season. Now if we do go along and do this trade, I would like to see Pavel Kubina as well as most of you. He's a good player, and like everybody here likes as well, he's young. His style should fit in with the Wings system, and he could be lots of help in the future. None of us can really argue about it and say who's right and who's wrong, because none of know if this trade will happen, and if it does, then we can see for ourselves if it was a good move or not.

    luongo reportedly on the move

I can see the connection with why Colorado would deal for Florida's Louongo. For this statement, lets not bring in money, but look at the basics of the trade in general. If Florida does trade Louongo to Colorado for Aebischer, Colorado will most likely take that trade. I can't think the Panthers would refuse, because if Louongo does not want to return, and the Panthers being a crappy team, they'll try everything possible to improve. I can't blame them either if you look at them in past years standpoint. But also remember this, if Florida wants a defensman, Colorado wants a defenseman. If Florida wants a winger, then Colorado wants a winger in return as well. See where I'm going with this? Now I know Hedjuk and Tanguay haven't been great, but I still can't see Colorado trading them. Also, Colorado signed Hedjuk to a 5-year deal this past off-season. If they swap goalies and forwards, Florida will probably get Cody McCormick or Dan Hinote, and Colorado will get Niklas Hagman or Ollie Jokinen. If they swap goalies and defenseman, Colorado will get Joel Kwiatkowski or Jay Bouwmeester, and the Panthers will recieve Brett Clark or John-Michael Liles. As far as back-up goalies go, Budja is not ready, and neither is the guy behind him for Colorado. For the Panthers, I wouldn't want my starting goalie to be Jamie McLennan if I were a fan. Grant he's been in the league for a while, but has never shown his true skill.

    Legace to be traded?

The problem with this is that I have not even heard this rumor outside of this cite anywhere. So to me, this is a false trade rumor that you started. And anyways, why would we trade Legace? Here's my first beef. Let's say we did trade Legace, who do you exspect to get? We're not going to get a big name. At best, we would get a marginal defenseman. So unless you can really prove to me that we would get a great defenseman, the trade you're talking about it stupid. My second beef is why are we in a rush to get a new defenseman now? Fischer is only on injured reserve. Nobody even knows yet if he's going to play or not. So don't jump to far right now. Lets say Fischer can't play again, our six regular defenseman will be Schneider, Lidstrom, Woolley, Chelios, Lebda, and Lilja. And the back-up persay is Rivers. Lebda is a great surprise this year, and I'm glad and proud of how well he's doing in his first year. Rivers is very experienced, and he hasn't failed the Wings yet either. And remember, Kronwall will be back soon, and that boosts the defense even more. My last beef, is how the heck do you think that Howard's ready to go regularly in the NHL right now. He can really use the experience in Grand Rapids. Give Osgood praise for doing a good job thus far this season, but do you really want Osgood as our starter and a non-experienced Howard as back-up? I don't, but if you do, that's great, but the wrong idea. Legace has been great, and I don't see how you can be mad at him if you are. Also, the defenseman are not to totally blame for the bad losing streak. Every team goes through one, and you'll have to deal with it like everyone else. Don't start false trade rumors.

    Lidstrom to Dallas?

While reading everyone else, I want to add this after my last. DO NOT REPLY EVERYTIME SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING TO YOU. THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY SAY. YOU ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. You sound like a prick dude. I'm sorry, but really, think about the trades your saying. Lidstrom, Lang, and Williams to Columbus for Fedorov, Nash, Foote, and the other forward. Common dude. Think real here. Why in the world would Columbus make that trade. That would totally destroy their goal for this season of what they are trying to occomplish. And those three to Philadelphia for Forsberg, Mike, and another defenseman. Dude get real. There is no way that Philadelphia would give up Forsberg. If you don't like Lidstrom dude, fine. That's cool. But most of us members do. So therefore, don't talk crap about trading him if you can't back it up correctly. There are certain reasons not to trade him. 1) He makes to much money, and teams don't want to trade for that. 2) If he gets traded, it'll be Holland's head. 3) He's a fan favorite, and he's been a Wing his whole career, so he'll stay a Wing. Think about this before responding, and if you do, it should be not tomarrow, but within the next two to three days.

    Lidstrom to Dallas?

What are you talking about. "Don't freak out, it's just an idea". I really don't understand how that is even a logical idea dude. Okay, Leetch is good, but he's getting to the end of his career. His injuires this year has really slowed him down. Lidstrom has more hockey left in him than Leetch. Did you even watch him in Toronto? He's not the same. Holland would be the dumbest guy in the league if he offered Lidstrom for Leetch. Strum will cost to much. You must not understand how Boston works. Boston is a cry baby city that asks for damn near everything. I'll say it early here, but when you trade with Boston, be ready to give up more than an equal trade. Samsonov is not a realistic idea either. Grant that he's good, but he's not as good as the rest of the league thought he'd be, and he's slowing down. He'll also be a free agent next season, and think about how much money he'll be asking to be signed anywhere because of his stellar rookie season. And why in the world would you even think about bringing Slegr back? Slegr's career went downhill the year before he arrived in Atlanta. He's was so lucky to become a Wing that one year. To even bring him back would be a joke. Also, keep in mind that Lidstrom has a $10 million contract. No one is going to take that money, and I don't think there is any club right now that can afford to take his contract with the salary cap. His $10 million contract will turn every other club away from wanting to trade for him. He's also been a longtime Wing, and there is no reason in the world to ever trade him.

Dave Lewis Spotted On Plane Coming From Nashville

Now I understand that seeing Dave Lewis on a plane going on a plane from Nashville to Detroit is interesting. By you need to understand drumshanbo that it doesn't exactly mean we're going to trade. Yes, Lewis is a scout, but he looks at quite a few things. Trading isn't as easy as it used to be. Not even close. Plus, the Wings don't have the room to really hit a market trade. There are 29 other teams in the league, and it's Lewis's job to go to all the other cities and look at players that we might trade for only if needed. Also, when the free agent time before the season starts, Lewis can help Holland decide who he should try to sign. He also may be looking at players in the AHL if he knows that some of them may be free agents next off-season. I don't think that a trade is in thinking process, and it is not even needed right now.
