It was an away game in Phoenix. They don't want to feel TO sorry for themselves.

-It's nice to see that Detroit is still dominant (thank you Z). -Chicago trades their prospects away just as they start to get good. -Preds are one injury away from a big slump. -Columbus finishes bad, but Nash is finally picking it up, Leclaire just might pan out, and steady veteran acquisitions (Foote, Fedorov, Peca) are making them look like a real hockey club. If they don't make the playoffs this year, then they'll have a hard time clinging to that fanbase. -St. Louis... well, we'll see. They just might be good. However, they do have Legace in net, so good luck getting anywhere in the playoffs. Who knows, this could be more of the same, but everyone is still at least an NHL quality team.

Sam's Notes For the Game: -Maltby has been playing a lot better since he Grigs & Drake will be back, and Ellis is making a strong case for staying in the lineup, a.k.a.- where would Maltby go? -Lilja has had a good game, one shift in particular stands out where he just made all the right choices. -Who else is loving that 'do-or-die' attitude of Ellis? -Why does Detroit always get a goal called back when they play the bottom-feeders? Bettman wants everyone to think these half-ass hockey players are quality guys, and that there's plenty MORE talent to go around, a.k.a.- the NHL can expand, make more money. What this means is that the refs have to be biased for the awful teams. Face it folks, hockey is a business first and a sport second.

Since the NHL keeps expanding, the minor leaguers that get called up that can't keep up with the NHL players will probably get to use them.
