"The ring also has special meaning for Pappin's daughter, who is getting married next week. She was very close to her grandfather and having the possession he treasured would be just like having him there with her, Pappin said." Oh, now THAT'S under-handed... 'Give it back for a much smaller price, or ruin my daughters wedding.'

Check it out! Columbus is stealing the other teams stars (Foote, Fedorov, Peca) and building a decent team! Not bad.

Question: Worst [checker] you [ever] gone on? Badest [checker] direct you [ever] divided out?/Broder Hanson Lidstrom: Hm, difficult question. I have had some [real] [hits] through the years. The worst each perhaps when Dallas Drake, as then played in Phoenix, took me in [end boards] in a game. I saw him to come in the last second, but had somewhere to take the road or to protect myself. That hurt. But I have surely dished some times also, a guy that is called Todd Krygier, and as played in NHL on 90's, is in the habit of reminding me about that I got in a good [hit] on him on open ice when he played in Washington. I want to see this hit! Does anyone have it?

What if Nostradamus predicted that LGW forecasters would be right on the money? The man predicted everything. I'm sure if you interpreted a poem correctly, you would see that you have a son coming up in your future and that you will name him Milo for reasons beyond your control.

Now they're only falling apart. It's a total eclipse of good judgment.
-
I was half expecting you to incorporate Havlat in there.

AND he was averaging several minutes less. Marcel Hossa was finally living up to his potential before getting injured in March. 15 points in his last 22 regular season games. I suspect he will be even better next year.

I'm not gonna go too hard on this because I am too lazy to make my own lines and you are not. However: Grigorenko needs some time to adjust, although he may be a top six guy nearing the end of the season. Draper, Maltby, and Franzen need to be on the third line as shutdown guys. Cleary would be on the 2nd line, although both guys are interchangeable based on performance and chemistry. One of the young guys needs to take Sammy's spot. Hudler Datsyuk Holmstrom Cleary Zetterberg Grigorenko Maltby Draper Franzen Drake Filppula Samuelsson Kopecky What I hate about this is that Filppula deserves a shot. We have too many centers! If he was a winger I would give him a top six spot in a heartbeat. I guess it all comes down to who is ready to step up, who were flashes in the pan, and whether Zetterberg and Datsyuk can play without each other. We have enough pieces, I just hope Babcock can find out how to get the best out of them, or discover that one of the centers is built to be a winger and makes somebody a star.

Neither can I, so here I am.

It was. It wasn't anything I didn't already know, though. I love that Nashville, Anaheim, and NJ are in the bottom ten, yet Columbus is in the top 20, and Philadelphia is ranked #7. Just goes to show you... something.

The problem is that the money is there and the empty roster spot is also there. However, I know Holland has been busy and is doing all he can; I'm sure we will have another fine season, seeing as we are a playoff team ALREADY with 9 million in cap space. Remember: Free Agency started less than a week ago. There is plenty of time left, and we didn't throw away the future for one season.

Well Dan Maloney is gone, I would expect Sather to go back to his 'winning ways.'
-
I agree, Selanne!

Not to mention that many of those players are making all the money they will in their life in about 10-15 years. They have to live off of interest until they die.

http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...31912&st=50 Say what the Wings would do if owned by the members of LGW. These are from this thread, 2 years ago: My Favorite: And now to start off another one: -We would sign Smyth, Kozlov, Drury, and Souray with the remaining $8 million. -Franzen would be a capable goal scorer, and Filppula would easily center the second line. -Nobody would know anything about hockey except for YOU. -Aaron Asham's gritty play would make up for the 122 points that have left to free agency.

Please don't turn this into a clone of every other thread. Stick with the spirit of the thread or post where people want to hear those opinions. Mods, can you delete the posts by Detroit # 1 Fan, Kp-Wings, bullockz? Not sure if you have the ability to do that... STICK WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE THREAD! Just refreshed, and... *sigh*

I think he is more focused on offense, especially in this stage of his career, just like Yzerman was. I've seen him play a few times and he didn't make any glaring mistakes. He was a -3 in the regular season but a +4 in the playoffs.
-
Well the sarcasm doesn't apply to you, naturally. I mean everyone else on this board. (Except of course for me).

I'm thinking maybe 35 points, about 20 goals... Although I just hope he adjusts well in his first season, even 20-25 points would make me happy... although I hope he would improve upon that the season after.
-
He's been in a profesional league for longer, I think we all expect better.
-
Error in translation? Did it seem to you like the interviewer was trying to sway his decision?
-
Mike Comrie, because I don't think Filppula is ready.
-
I'm sure the laughs would relieve stress.

With Selanne and Neidermayer gone, there are literally no likable players on that team. Shouldn't be hard to hate.
