Ok, but fair is fair, he's worse than Andrew Raycroft.
-
I always liked Weekes playing for the Rangers. I hope he can get picked up, I mean, he's one of maybe 20 NHL players with their own websites, therefore he's a premier goalie!
-
(For that matter, so did Rafalski)
-
I just checked, this goal seems doomed to be unassisted.

I think the problem is that they DID read the article. I saw Mark Everson at the top of the page and didn't bother to go any further.

Will You Be Surprised if the Wings dont make the Playoffs?
Earthhuman replied to RyanK's topic in General
It seems to me like RyanK wants everybody to realize suddenly that they are putting too much weight on sports to determine the success they have in their lives, which I don't think is the case. Every kid eventually realizes they have no control over the outcome of their team, and I think this is the case for him. Replying is like yelling at your kid for not knowing Calculus. This isn't directly related Jedi, but I think it will clear up some confusion. EDIT: I couldn't say it better than Electrophile did in my signature, which I honestly forgot I put there. -
Call that tentative! Babcock may have to find some room for Bertuzzi or Leino.
-
Here come the Maltby/Draper signatures.
-
Chicago is not looking like a powerhouse. Of course, it's too early to tell. Besides, Hossa isn't playing yet.
-
I didn't get to see Bertuzzi's goal, but I'm hoping someone has the desire to post it on Youtube.
-
He must be trying to play at least one season in every division, poor guy.

I don't have to quote the "Helm" lineup, because everybody else did, and even though it goes without saying... Why would you put a young guy who is an ideal 3rd-4th line player and gaining confidence every game on the first line where opponents and line-mates alike would outplay him and the fans would be calling for his head ten games in? Sure he's shown flashes of "it" offensively- all the more reason to keep him where he's safer and doing a damn good job for a young guy. And, maybe this is just semantics, but why oh why would you put Datsyuk on the wing with Helm in the middle? Datsyuk is one of the top five or ten centers in the game, and he is far and away better in his natural position than on the wing. Helm is one of the top 200 centers in the game, I think that means you can either, A) put him on the wing, or, B) let him center the 4th line, as he should.

I don't surf this forum like I used to, so maybe I've missed something, but trade expectations used to be Much Worse than they are now; less trade possibilities have also come up than usual. This is not only a bad time to start this thread again, but it's also a topic that most of LGW is well aware of. It would have served you better if you had just sent it as a private message to the, oh, five posters who would make anywhere near these outrageous trade ideas. Filpulla, for the record, probably could not hit 80 points. He played out of his mind these past playoffs, scoring 16 points in 23 games. Three goals. If a player is going to eclipse 80 points, they're going to have to score some goals. I can't think of many players who scored less than 30 goals last season who had 80 points at least. Backstrom, Savard, Thornton, maybe a few others. And they at least scored over 20. Maybe we have a Joe Thornton in the making in our lineup, but I think it would have shown by now. I say, maybe 70 points for a couple seasons.

I think anyone following Burke for the last several years could have told you that.

The announcers are very unbiased, they love hockey above any team (even the Rangers). They are national-quality announcers and they stick to the game pretty well, i.e., don't start talking about their kids at soccer practice like you'd typically hear on NBC.

More and more I think of: :siren: :siren:

Looks to me like they should have been interviewing Jarome Iginla, or the Calgary Flames. Jeesh- that guy didn't have much to ask about the Wings did he?

Theo Fleury wants back in to the bar...i mean nhl
Earthhuman replied to soultrain's topic in General
Fleury was and possibly is my favorite hockey player next to Yzerman, he used to be my screen saver. If he thinks he's capable then hell, I say, "Why not?" It's at least worth a shot. It would be nice to see him pretending to shoot booing fans with his stick. -
Boo, or have a little grace. The difference to me is whining and being a man; brush it off, it's a sport.

"Who is the hardest to play against one-on-one?"
-
That was a 2006 interview for Hockey News magazine right before his second season.
-
And then after that I should have 20 children who all play for the Red Wings, and one of them should be captain. Maybe Milo. Maybe Sam. Sam will have definite intangibles to consider, but you can't argue with the talent and hands that Nathan might have one day (when he is born I'll let you know). EDIT: The OP is from Muncie, Indiana. That's where I was born; how cool is that?
-
Well most of the fans you're talking about probably came out of the woodwork AFTER the Ducks won the cup, so they wouldn't remember that, would they?
-
The odds were against them on the second win. And the third, the fourth, the fifth, the eleventh, the thirteenth. Pretty cool.

Ovechkin has lost a lot of respect in the last few month, especially in my eyes. Whatever happened to modesty and sportsmanship? It was an unnecessary hit.
