Well there aren't many average that you could snag for 500K. I'd say he's overachieving, I don't know what you were expecting. I think we were all sceptacle at the start of the season. Never thought of this, but I agreed initially. However, I think that retiring at the high level of play he was going at, and the 4 assists in 4 games in the playoffs was a good way to go. Plus he's now contributing to the Wings future. What more could you want?

First off, the Avs that could make the playoffs are not the same team we have beaten up on this season. I will be a very difficult round if we face them. I hope the attitude on the boards does not reflect that of the team. Secondly, Smyth and the Oilers were arguing over a measely 100K... tell me Smyth wanted to stay in Edmonton. I was sure Zata would break the 50 goal and 100 point marks this season, and while it's hard to call him a disappointment for singlehandedly earning about 14 points in the standings, getting his first hattrick, and being pretty much unstoppable, neither of those marks were gonna happen after the first 15-20 games. It has been a huge relief to see him make up lost ground, though. I'm very happy with Cheechoo's mediocre performance thus far (he threw away a game last night), but I'm sure San Jose-ans are disappointed. Ovechkin. 0 Sportscenter appearances.
