Guess he's just not an every day guy nowadays. And this isn't a GDT. It's a Pre-Aflac-GDT. In the event of assassination to Aflac's GDT POWERS today, it will be chief of LGW Gameday. My signature was deleted again? I don't even remember what it was, so I can't cleverly disguise it as something else... Quick, I need a Goldie quote!

Then we'd be sure to go far in the playoffs! THIS is why we have these converations! The player you're looking for is Shanahan about 10 years ago. Or Yzerman with a traumatic childhood. I hope that makes it to someones signature. ^^ Too overpaid? And tell me, what, exactly, is reasonably overpaid?

Nashville has a 4-3-0 record for February so far, and we've come within 2 points of tying for the league lead... this you know. Assuming it comes down to the 5(ish) games we have left against them, do you think we realistically have a shot at winning the division? I think we had the edge at the beginning of the month, but with Vishnevsky and Forsberg in the line-up, they might be the better team? Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom-------------------------------------------Kariya-Forsberg-Sullivan Samuelsson-Lang-Cleary (Or Williams)----------------------------------Erat-Legwand-Dumont Franzen-Draper-Maltby (Or Williams)------------------------------------Tootoo-Arnott-Radulov Franzen-Filppula-Hudler----------------------------------------------------Hordichuk-Fiddler-Nichol ------------------------------------------------------vs.------------------------------------------------------- Lidstrom-Markov------------------------------------------------------------Timonen-Zidlicky Schneider-Kronwall---------------------------------------------------------Weber-Suter Lebda-Chelios---------------------------------------------------------------Hamuis-Vishnevsky Hasek, Osgood-------------------------------------------------------------Vokoun-Mason Lines are somewhat guessed (I can't fit in Williams (Samuelsson not injured in perfect world (and why can't I fit Langfeld in there?)), especially for Nashville. I just went by point totals. The games are hinged on Lidstrom and Hasek for us (with just a hint of Zetterberg), and Kariya and Vokoun for them (I haven't seen them play much, but those two are especially valueable). A healthy Forsberg may make the difference.

Nashville's record doesn't reflect it's team lately

This from the guy who's name is 'suicide' backwards... but I respect your opinion. Here, I disagree with you. -
every day: consecutive days going on forever everyday: common, not unusual Just sayin.

Their trio actually leads the nhl in scoring points since Christmas, with 99. And I watch a lot more than Detroit hackey, and they're one of the best defensively, too. Although they're often out there with Lidstrom. Ok so he's the best non-Russian player.

I would guess that he doesn't wear his fake teeth during games, that way they don't get damaged and he doesn't have to spend more money on them. I wonder if it has anything to do with his dad being in town, like his dad is nagging him or something. But then, Datsyuk had a nice set of pearly whites after his goal... maybe he hasn't taken the pucks that Zata has. ... or that.

Motivation? Good move, Wings management. I what they do if the player has a dead father. I don't imagine they take them, in that case.

This batch of actors is a whole lot better...: Oh Gretzky, that God you stuck to hockey.

So in conclusion of this thread so far: Awesome! 'exiting part'! forsure! Good thread, though. Seriously.

I just put your little mini-conversation on a Word document and saved it. Classic. You get a brownie point.

1) Agh! I hate that phrase! To me, it means, 'I'm a *****, I'm not gonna back any of this up if it's challenged. I'm talking out of my ass'. But I have nothing but respect for you, winsgnut. 2) I think people are severely underestimating how aware the league is of our team. The fact that Lilja, Williams, and Samuelsson are nothing special is no big secret. Doan is now Phoenix's leading scorer (...right?), and they're going to want to be able to cushion the blow (in the event of him being traded) a little and maintain respectablility with a decent scorer. 3) If you didn't know, Doan's assist man, Nagy, is off to Dallas. You better believe he wants out as his career will really suffer otherwise. 4) Three of our top defensemen are pretty advanced in their years, and we need to keep Meech, Kindl, and Quincey to fill in the spots that will be available in the next few years. Otherwise, we'll have to trade for a defensemen. Who will we trade? Grigorenko, Hudler, Filppula, etc., and then who will take the spot of Lang, Maltby, Draper, etc.? So then we'll have to trade [aquired defeseman] for [lower quality defensman] and [barely NHL calibre 4th liner]. Poof! Our team just moved down a spot in the conference/division. Point is, we should hang on to our defensive prospects. It's hard to call us cup-contenders: We consistently get knocked off early in the playoffs; Even in the West alone, we are certainly not at te top of the pack (Anaheim, San Jose, Nashville (what happened to hockey? These aren't exactly historical hotbeds of hockey...)); if one defenseman goes down (Lidstrom may be the only defenseman in the lineup to go without an injury this year), we're sunk. In fact, we really don't have the depth in any position that it takes to go all the way. Everything is hinged on Hasek. And he's injured. Although I have all the faith in the word in his groin (in the least *** way possible )

I think we could get Forsberg for less, thus my vote goes to him. I believe in second chances. Not for Bertuzzi.
-
3 people that voted he will come back? Wishful thinking. No offense to Detroit-ians, but why would you go from New York City (and the most famous rink in the world) to go back to one of the most polluted, crime-infested cities in the world? Not to mention he's close to his family now.
-
Pretty funny! But the underlying message is just depressing. I think he's 2 parts delusional, 1 part genius, and 1 part stubborn. Delusional- consistently reinforcing that we have a chance in a playoff series. Genius- Hasek, $750,000. Stubborn- 38 years old... (see Thomas, 2002 Detroit Redwings). Edit: Oops, I thought that quote was by Holland... Scratch everything.

Kronwall! You're ruining my arguement about how you're worth the money...

Just checking in... the game's on Versus (Grr!). They've played like three games: Detroit vs. Colorado Detroit vs. New York Detroit vs. Philly I hate them. How's it look so far?

Just got caught up, missed the first period. Goldie, you're hilarious.
-
These are two of the best defenses in the league (Detroit being the first best, Calgary being about the third). It should be a low scoring game. [Depending on the coaches' game plans]
-
We all know Zata will out-goal Datsyuk by the end of their careers.
-
I'll take Kopecky over Langfeld. Although, Langfeld has played a good, simple game, a couple of scoring chances, but generally very reliable. It seems like he's always back. Still, Kopecky has potential and played similarly, a little more physical, yada yada yada. I hope Langfelf eventually finds a permanent spot on the roster, he doesn't scare me when he's on the ice (Lilja...). Williams's contribution in the last ELEVEN games- a +/- of -2.
-
Oh ok, but not until we trade him?... I don't get where you stand. He's making less than 2 million a year (for now) and is playing at that level. If you give him time, he'll come around. What is it with Detroit fans and wanting big results immediately? Have some patience.
-
Hasek has telekenisis, they swear! And apparently, so does Lilja, Zata, Holmstrom, and I believe Sammy. Must be a Swedish thing.
-
Not to mention aquiring Jan Marek, a pure scorer. I never heard that deal... no wonder Keenan stepped down!
