Damn, I read five pages but you beat me to it!
-
The thing that bugs me about these types of threads is that people start using inclusive pronouns, like "we" and "us." I personally have never played for the Red Wings, therefore I don't count their achievements among my own.
-
I don't like when people quote someone and say, "This." That's like saying, "I agree with Abraham Lincoln," and then going around talking about how helped free the slaves.
-
Hopefully he learns something from Sean Avery. Avery was languishing in LA, New York rescued him, he left for money, and now he's doing what? How many goals this season, besides I don't think he's even playing anymore.

Stay in Louisville. Just kidding! I liked the "... in almost a week" one the most. Please, please, please let someone do that!

That's not what he has said, and that's not what the salary cap says.

The Canucks must being getting people coming off games the night before all the time- when you go out west, oftentimes you knock off the whole coast in one trip. Teams have to travel to get to them, it works both ways. Some of the older, long-retired players must see this and laugh their asses off. Here's guys that can't take a trip in first-class on a plane, when they used to have to travel hundreds of miles on a train (and much more often, because there were only six teams, so it's not like you can just go play them once a year).

So Fleury was scored on by an 8-year-old. No wonder the Penguins couldn't score that night, they must have been playing nervous defense in case someone dumped the puck in on goal. But Pittsburgh is officially alright in my books. It helps that they've been losing miserably.

I can't watch the game but apparently that was not a friendly collision to Stuart..

SI: Future Cup Final to be played at neutral site?
Earthhuman replied to Antilles328's topic in General
Are they going to put hockey players on roller blades? Ice is just not going to make it in June, unless you send it way out of the population bubble up north, in which case you're going to make more money with the current format. -
I have to go to bed, but I'm crossing my fingers that SJ doesn't make it to OT. They always seem to, if they lose.

There wasn't a single free agent that I would rather have signed this offseason over Hossa. He's here for a year, and then that money goes where it's needed. So there ya go.
-
Not to mention, teams that make a lot of money share their profit with poorly-run teams and small-market teams. They need someone to beat up on, though.

I would say most Wings fans have more bad things to say about the Wings than anyone. That's tough love.
-
I'm sure he never gets sick of that.

Chicago fans deserve a good team, I have a lot of respect for most of them. Splitting the games would be fine by me, although I would rather the Wings win the winter classic.

Good for the sharks, they're still a great team and they're still scary in the playoffs.

Does anyone else feel like Piggy from Lord of the Flies? This thread just feels wrong! 1st, how do you not keep Zetterberg? He's done everything for this franchise. If he's asking for $6.5 million like Datsyuk, or even close to $7 million, then keep him for sure. I could not look at myself in the mirror if I said Hossa over Zetterberg. Speaking of Hossa, I would take Franzen and Hudler together over Hossa and Samuelsson for the simple fact that they're worth more goals combined than Hossa and Samuelsson. Probably Holland could fit Zetterberg, Franzen, Hudler, and Samuelsson under the cap and let Hossa walk next year. Signing Hossa next year means that Franzen is gone, and so is Hudler (more than likely). I'll take the offense that will score more goals any day. Don't get me wrong, Hossa is a great player, has won games for the Wings this year, and set a great example by signing for less than he's worth. However, he's worth even more now than he was in the offseason, and I think Franzen will appreciate the Wings giving him a shot in the NHL that has put him up there with some of the elite scorers, when he thought he would be working in a glass factory all his life. I think he'll sign a classic more-than-fair Wings contract. Ditto Hudler, the guy who was passed up all first round despite have more skill than most of those players, and then getting a shot on the Wings and now playing with great players and getting PP time. Please try to keep in mind when dismissing him easily that he now has 28 points in 32 games, is a +2, and has committed-wait for it- 1 penalty this season! All with 13:00 per game. That's ridiculous. Before this game, he was 9th in the league in goals per minute, right behind Hossa. I think this game he just passed him. Hudler alone is scoring more per minute than Hossa, and that's not taking into account that Franzen is 11th in the league in goals per minute. Face it, Hossa is just not worth these two players combined.

There goes my respect for him as a person, let alone a player.

Damn, I slept through it! When I checked the score, my stomach dropped... because I thought the Wings lost. What a game!

Wings got the talent, but what about the coaching?
Earthhuman replied to FourtyThirteen's topic in General
Clearly is having a great run for sure, but Hudler has 25 points in 28 games. I don't know what line he's been playing on lately, but it's not a good idea to let him languish on the lower lines. He needs to be up with the scorers, he's on pace for 73 points and that projection is only getting better. This, after being one of the top producers in the playoffs. -
I figured it couldn't have been that good if Tyutin scored twice.. thanks for the update though.
-
And how has Ozzie looked? So far, 3 goals on 16 shots, not that good.

Just like Jesus used to? Just joining, what have I missed? Any players injured or anything really big that wouldn't show up on a score sheet?
