the kid finished 5th overall in the OHL scoring and 2nd in goals with 49. I cant remember the last time the Wings had 2 legit scoring forwards at the same time coming thru the ranks. Without Mantha tearing up the Q, we would all be drooling over AA's output this year, we have alot to look forward to in the coming years.

There would have been reason's that we are not privy to as to why Jarnkrok was on offer, Legwand is a top C with over 1000 games under his belt. Kenny at that time didnt have a top c to call on and he had to make a move. Leggy waived his ntc to come here so i would say that the option of a further deal has already been agreed. He wouldnt have moved just for the end of the season, only to be off again. I have no problem with giving Legwand a 2 year deal, he's only 33 and once settled in and is comfortable with the systems he will be good for 40-50 pts, which he is on course now. Bigger question would be could he or Weiss play the wing? My ideal for next year would be; Franzen Zetterbeg Nyqvist Legwand Datsyuk Weiss Tatar Sheahan Jurco Abdelkader Helm Glendening Miller Andersson Alfredsson Something has got to give if we re-up Alfie & Leggy and we want to keep up Jurco, Sheahan and Glendening. With the defence needing an up grade, at fwd we could go with what we have, the surplus forwards could be used in any deal Kenny wants to make to get that top D guy.

Our 7 games left offers us a maybe easier route than we think; In reality Pens, Bruins and the Blues have locked up their places already, and apart from a complete meltdown the Habs are in as well. By the time we play the Canes they will be ought of the running which leaves 2 games against the worst team in the NHL i the Sabres, so all in all it should be plain sailing. ?

watching the Caps v Preds game, theres something not right with Ovie he doesn't seem to be fully focused. Jarnkrok played just under 4mins in 1st, some nice touches and he does not look out of place. Weber, could Kenny pull it off? Pipe dream i know.

maybe this was the deal to help Kenny aquire Weber in a trade? well just a thought lol i still say that we have the russian kid lined up to come over.

look dont get me wrong im more than happy being in front going into the 3rd, but wtf is Tom Renney's jog? Brought in to help the PP, we have the best chance to put this game to bed by going 4-1 up on a 4min pp and we create absolutely no scoring chances. Maybe the plane was to eat up the 4 mins and go into the 3rd 3-1 up. Its so bloody annoying, i just hope it doesn't come back to bite us on the arse.

Jarnkrok, acquired from the Detroit Red Wings at the NHL Trade Deadline in exchange for David Legwand, has had a point in each of his first four NHL games (one goal, three assists) since the Predators called him up. He also has had a plus rating in each game. As Babs would say, Good for him.

well need to turn our 3rd period form around if we are to get anything out of this game. Our so called top guys have been invisible so far.

I know alot of the call ups this year has been down mainly to the excessive injuries we have sustained but maybe there is a little showcasing going on here. We dont know what Kenny offered in any potential deals but he knows what the other GM's were after and maybe he's showing a little bit more of what we have on offer. That top D guy is a must for us next year and maybe a couple of pieces needed to pull off a deal in the summer are being aired at this moment in time. That D guy we need isnt in the coming UFA's so it'll need to be done via a trade. Maybe some potential trade partner whats to see the goods before he parts with his asset's ?

i have seen numerous n/m push the net off its moorings and the other team then score and i have never seen the ref allow the goal to stand, it seems this league makes up rules as it goes along. it will now be very interesting to see what happens in future games and the same occurs.

some major decision's coming up for Kenny thats for sure. RFA's ; Tatar, Glendening, Ferraro, Emmerton, Sheahan,Callahan,Nestrasil, Parkes, Coetzee at the forward spot. On the blueline ; DeKeyeser, Almqvist, Nicastro, and Fournier. UFA's Legwand, Samuelsson, Cleary, Alfredsson and Bertuzzi at Fwd with Quincey on D and Gustavsson in Net, That amounts to nearly a full roster. On the RFA situ; I would say Kenny has already written up contracts for Tatar, Sheahan and DeKeyser as no brainers. Think Babs will won't Glendening who will be a cheap serviceable 4th liner. The trio of Ferraro,Emmerton and Callahan will be either offered an AHL contract or may walk themselves. Parkes is too good for Toledo but not good enough for the Griffs the same could be said for Coetzee. The Griffs may offer these 2 contracts, but its the ECHL where they may end up long term. Nestrasil is a borderline case. He has upped his output this year, so maybe he's given another look by the Griffs but i doubt he's done enough to convince the Wings to offer him a deal. Of the blueliners I feel Almqvist will be given a chance, maybe offered a 2 way deal by the Wings and unless used in a trade deal I see him Q/B the Griffins blueline again next year and being the first call up for the Wings, but i also feel that another NHL team may step in and offer him a spot. Fournier hasn't really lived up to his early promise and its either another stint with the Walleye or its pastures new. Nicastro is a intriguing prospect. Detroit likes his size and his upside but he still has to work out what role he is going to play. The Wings won't give up on him just yet and a full season in the A next season will be whats on offer for Max. the UFA situ in my view is pretty much straightforward but as we all know Kenny will throw in a curveball! For the undeniable facts that the kids that have come in have more than held their own and outperformed the vet they replaced then its thanks for your time here but its time to sever ties with the Wings. Cleary, Bertuzzi and Samuelsson. Its difficult for Kenny I know but even he must realise its time to call it a day. Legwand i'd offer a 2 year deal and if Alfie wants another year its his. What sort of money thou? As far as Gustavsson goes i like him but he is very injury prone, so maybe its goodbye Jonas hello Petr. Now the big one, Quincey ??????. Unless Kenny has something lined up we could have another year with the Q!! The UFA pool is very shallow this coming market and youve heard it before from Ken, he knows the systems and blah blah blah. I hope im wrong on that one as we deff need a top guy and the money Q gets would go along way to get a top pairing guy in a trade.

with all the call ups they have had to cope with Blashill and co have done a great job keeping them at the top of the standings. Is Blash being groomed to take over from Babs?
