Really crushing, no magic man next year.... he did so much for the organization, and he will surely be missed. Have to give our young guns some playoff time, with zdawg declining every year it's up to them and they should get all the experience they can. Enjoy these playoffs fellow fans no matter which way it swings, Dats is a legend and I'm happy he clarified it now so I can enjoy every last shift he plays these playoffs. Will Holland really not trade a contract due to loyalty?! I really don't blame Pavs but he's hitting us with almost 8 million and Holland still won't trade him...I love the 25 year playoff streak, but this team can be so damn frustrating. He won't trade anyone ever that's on the roster to try and improve the team let alone a dead contract. I'm really starting to believe change is good for the GM role. I only do rant because to completey neglect the idea of trading this contract is mind boggling

My lines AND the best lines are: Helm - DATS - Mantha Larkin - Sheahan - Abs AA - Henrik - Gus/Tats Tats/Gus - Luke - Richards Sheahan has been well on fire recently and I say why not swap him with zdawg and I liked the look of Mantha and Pavs together and helms been hot recently so that works. AA might help zdawg find his legs and that 4th line could do some damage but I would serouisly bench either tats or gus for jurco if they continue to be this ineffective especially the last few post seasons. How many chances do you get...BTW we won't go anywhere with Jimmy in net. I really do love the guy he has heart, and I know how petr has played lately, but he can flat out steal us games we have no reason being in, Howie can't.

Wondering if people of LGRW community are already doing a fantasy hockey league, or want to participate in one. If enough interest i will create a league with a live draft and invite those willing to play here! Its hard finding a true active league throughout the year, so i figure mentioning it here and getting the LGRW members on board could create for a fun season. Anyway post if interested and we can discuss what kind of league to partake in! Also best to mention, its free, just need a yahoo account!

Blashill has a clear mind coming into camp and throughout the season. He'll probably play the guys who most deserve it. He doesn't have certain opinions of players the way Mike may have had (So players like Smith, Jurco, Kindl, should look at this as more of a fresh start). I wouldn't dwell on the thought of Cleary taking someones role who deserves it more over him. Like its been said many times before, this is more of a morale move. Players of Detroit like Dan, he is respected throughout the locker room and is a voice for the young guys. This isn't so much of a on ice move, but rather an off ice.

Bertuzzi has much more offense upside then Abs ever did imo. Bertuzzi will be a beauty for the winged wheel

Honestly if our 3 older forwards dats, Z, and Richards (discluding Mule until further news) are all playing top 6, the only 2 i want playing on the same line among them is Zetterberg and Dats. Ya maybe Richards and Z could work, but Z knows Dats much better down the middle, and I don't see him flourishing with Richards anymore then with 13. The Eurotwins are always buzzing and if not always well then very often. That gives so much free space to work with on the 2nd line, assuming Richards and or Sheahan solidify that spot. Having a thriving 2nd line because of a center not named Henrik or Pavel is what Detroits wanted for a decent time now, we want those Etwins playing together. Hopefully Richards snags that chance because right now to me Sheahan looks like a toss up between a 2nd or a 3rd line NHL center, and added depth in case of scenerio B, never hurts. At least for this year, Sheahans still young and Richards is tied up for one season. Basically it comes down to, Richards, Sheahan, please kick ass...

In a dream world where Jurco turns into a pretty decent PF, and Larkin can handle being more then a top 9 forward (basing all hope for this year) thats a pretty decent top 12 you got! If Blashill can get Jurco playing like he did for him, and Larkin being the over achieving prospect he was last year that dream world could possibly be a reality. I mean that fourth line would be the grind line all over again, in your face every given night. I wouldn't want Mule with Richards if he does return. Tatar i can see having the biggest impact with Richards arrival, another center that can distribute the puck, and maybe even mesh greater then did with Pavel...Wishful thinking, but it does look good on paper. Z - D - Jurco Tatar - Richards - Sheahan Nyquist - Larkin - Mule/ Pulk Helm- Glen - Abs

I believe this is it for Babs behind a redwing bench....wasted opportunity and you can't keep riding the one and done bandwagon for much longer. Changes are needed, but until then...LGRW
