I hope flames push it, the cities fun when its alive. The ducks look like a big threat now after sweeping the Jets. Except the goaltending hasn't been that impressive, I don't think its out of the realm of possibility Hudler's line could keep producing. Those young guns Monahan and Gaudreau are the real deal, this series will be damn close. Flamers didn't play very well against em in past regular season meetings, always seem to struggle against the quacks... Howie is in a sticky situation only because Petr is proving to be the real deal. He is the only one this entire season I believe to shutout the Lightning....twice! When you have a 5 million dollar goalie sitting because of some kid, it grants discussion on a message board, even after a solid W from our boys, and Peteee especially. Boyle could have changed the tempo on that breakaway, but this time Petr had his number. Great win, great effort, and lets keep it rolling! Tampa is going to come guns blazing, but we just may have ourselves a forcefield in goal.

Abs in is a big boost for sure, if not on the scoreboard well then at least in the hitting department. Weiss sits is, well expected... What Detroit needs to do is win those 2-1 games not allowing any mental mistakes, and Andy is more defensively responsible then Weiss. We aren't going to outscore the opponent that lead the league in goals, so try winning a different way. From what Weiss is shown (granted he is playing with Andy) he wont produce much if anything, and at this point its a coin toss who would score first be it him or Andy (again if either). Weiss with a new coach could actually be a good thing, a fresh start for Weiss that is. Babs with this whole not signing until the seasons over really makes me wonder, is he that set on staying in D-town? So much has been made of this delay for a decision, whether he goes elsewhere only puts pressure on him, and somewhat on this team (even though Babs says otherwise). If he really wanted to stay in Detroit why go through this roller coaster where the damn Maple Leafs are asking "what if". I don't know but I got a feeling Babs might be on his way out...

Detroit could literally trade their entire team and the Oilers would still refuse to trade Connor McDavid.(Lets not pretend they would have someone else in mind with the 1st pick).... The ONLY reason I wouldn't completely hate having Dion here is we would be a little more of a mean team, something we rarely have. Phaneuf, Bertuzzi, Glendening, Abs, and even Callahan would have this team much more irritating which I believe can be a very strong thing.

with all the negativity towards our boys (rightfully so) most of us expected this kind of game without the W, and we got that W so hopefully, and I mean HOPEFULLY, we only go up from here. The guys now are seeing that we got goaltending, so loosen the hell up and use them legs.

Dekeyser was our best dmen tonight IMO, big E was up there too. Nyquist and Tatar have to show some fight, played way to much in their own end. Petr stole this hands down, with the help of Pavel. Unless Detroit shows some more compete then like I've said before Petr will have to be our own 2006 Cam Ward, so far so good Petr. That means show up on Sunday for the majority in red.

Mrazek battles to see the puck much like Quick does, that sort of energy and style can prove solid in the postseason, risky but id take it over Howies confidence right now, and being a fellow goalie (beer league of course) Howies style is not for me, never have liked it and never will. Not hating on Howie honestly I always liked him, just not the way he keeps the puck out. Then again he's in the NHL and I however am not....
