Wings to Europe: Tracking which DRW players are playing where

I like the idea of Filppula playing over in Finland for Jokerit... That means he will be playing with Pulu... great chance for Pulu to learn how to be an NHL'er and train with one... I think that could be a very good thing for him

Any NHL'ers from your home town?

Im from Lancaster, Pa... Closet I have is one NHLer in Nick Foligno... Played the same high school league as me and have played with him... Also played with David Kolomatis who is in La's farm system and Tyler Hostetter Flyers Farm System.... And for you state fans I have played with Chris Snavley who won the NCAA with Abdelkader and he is from my town... Never made the show though... The only other close relation I have is a buddy who played at Mercyhurst... He plays sometimes with Tavares, PK Subban and a few others...

    2012 Lockout Watch

The lockout will happen, to think that some earth shattering agreement could happen overnight is stupid. The players think they hold the cards, the owners think they hold the cards... It's a stand of and the only way to solve it is months of negotiations and a far solution.... What sucks for us red wings fans is that this will probably mean a season opener of the winter classic. 05 they started the season on hype with the Crosby lottery... Now it will be the winter classic.... It hurts us cause we miss out on 24/7... But atleast we get half a season... And once again we get screwed... First the reallignment, now 24/7.... The players will back down and i respect them for that... The league asked them to take a pay cut for the good of the league... "make less now to make more later" now that there making "more" they are being asked to cut salaries again... If that was my boss id tell him to screw off.... 2012 Lockout Watch

I still watch that together we can video over and cover again.... I know it's going to be a lockout but I hope the players don't settle... Guys like Datsyuk shouldn't have to settle when they could make more money in their home town.... Time for the owners to pony up. There will be a lock out, the players have the upperhand, they are organized and determined an I don't blame them.. They took their pay cut for the good of the league in 05... Now it's the owners time...

    The Ultimate Ranking List

Easy boys.... A lot of this thread has to be bang for its buck... Hence why the leads are at the bottom.... (most expensive tickets, havnt made the playoffs in ages) The coyotes... Dirt cheap tickets, nice arena, and considerably in the playoffs... It's pretty simple you can go to a coyotes game for next to nothing... And watch a playoff caliber team that actually made it farther then us last year. This isn't just a list of which team has the better history... Or who is better at playing the sport.

Doan staying in PHX 4 yrs $21.2 mill

From the prices I have seen, I'm thinking its going to be closer to the 6.5 million mark. I for one don't want Doan locked up until 38 at close to 7 million per. I think thats WAY to high of a price for a 50 points guy. Yes he brings some pretty good intangibles but to me it isn't worth it. I know this is going to seem like a farfetched comparison but we pay Filppula under 4 million who just reached 60+ points and is younger by a good margin. Although Filppula does not have the grit and toughness intangibles that Doan has. I would have to say that his defense game and 2 way play is a pretty big intangible in its self. Doan is not worth the money cause he isn't a one year contract. Next season we will need money to Sign a 1-2 D man, Resign Filppula, Smith, Nyquist, White, and Kindl. Then we also have probably one of the biggest raises of next season in Jimmy Howard. I understand everyone wanted to Spend big on players but besides Suter we need to allow our kids to come up and also pay the players that deserve it. Filppula, Howard, and hopefully Smith and Nyquist.

    Semin

I just want him to sign somewhere so that all this speculation ends haha
  15. Crashnburnluder

    Semin

I do not see him sigbing a one year deal, if we want Semin we are going to need to show more faith in him than any other team. 3-4 year term between 4-6 million... I know that's a big risk but lets face it the high reward part of this is sky high. The talent is there, the question is how often under a new coach. I think we should give him the chance. It's worth the risk in my mind especially at a 4-t million dollar cap hit... Worst case scenario is he stays around 50-60 points (which I doubt) but I bet he is 1st or 2nd on our team with goals those 3-4 years... Just my 2 cents

St. James: Wings have inquired about Rick Nash

I'm going to be pretty frustrated if we trade a huge package for Nash, when the same deal likely could have gotten us Yandle. Now I know that if it does happen we will never know but there's a good chance it will be close to what Phoenix would want and D is our biggest hole. I wish that we would trade for Yandle or another D man then sign Semin and/or Doan... (depending on cap hits but I think it would be doable)

St. James: Wings have inquired about Rick Nash

If were going to trade... I want it to be yandle and sign Semin... Not hating on Nash but our assets need to go to our future number 1 d man

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild

Im thinking that he didnt take the 100 million off the bat, then he wont at all. I doubt we flew out there with already one of the lower contracts on the table and then were asked to raise it to a number still below the rest but a lot closer shows that Suter wants to play here but he wants to get fair value. Suter is worth 6.9 AAV so im fine by that. I also like the fact that no way he goes to Philly if he doesn't want scrutiny because they are one of the worst markets on their players. I think we are right there to signing him and meeting him half way will do the trick. kinda like... "Philly is at 100, were at 80, how about we meet in the Middle and you come play the next 13 years in the playoffs?" lol

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild

Your probably right but for crying out loud, give us some news. Did they go up there just to say hi, get a final no so they could move on, so they could ink the deal.... WTH haha

    Now what?

Well with the Signing of Samuelsson and Tootoo, where does detroit go next... According to NHLNumbers.com with this signings we have 19 million left in cap room. This does not include Forwards Brunner and Nyquist. This also does not include RFA Abdelkader. This leaves us with 13 forwards plus the other 3 not listed to make 16. Who goes where, what is up Holland's sleeve? Time to speculate
