No, you're an idiot. Not for the substance of what you said, but for adding on that last sentence. Apparently, either you are not smart enough to realize the affect of saying something like that, or you enjoy getting people angry. For your sake, I hope it is not the latter, because people like that have to go through life annoying everyone around them. In the future, just make your point, there is no need for false rhetoric, and all it is going to do is start a pissing match (which LGW already has enough of). I am not saying you're not welcome to post here, I am asking you to mind your manners.

Just to be Debbie Downer here: Dom was awful, Kipper was not on top of his game either. (I put something in their water bottles)
-
Be honest, after seeing Kronwall's season, even if he was healthy, would you play him over Lilja? Right now, I wouldn't.

Lang looks tons better tonight. He really had done a great job.
-
One thing to remember about Lang is that he had a contract from the Caps that probably underpaid him for the first 2 years and overpaid him for the last 2. I think Lang has been worth it the last couple of playoffs (shoot, he was the only guy who showed up for all the games), but he is at the end of his contract. We could just be watching the progression of a player who everyone knew would not be up to it toward the end of his contract, and what could be the end of his career as a professional hockey player. Lang's made his money, and if he wants to retire and spend time with the fam, good for him. I just hope he doesn't "retire" while still dressing for the games. PS. It doesn't help that he's had Mikael "I kill every play with a weak shot at the goalie's chest" Samuelsson on his line. Also, I have not been as impressed with Calder's effort, and I am of the opinion that Bert was awful in Game 3. No excuses though, Lang hasn't been good.

If I could change the tone of this thread for a moment: Wings up 2-1 Known playoff performers: Draps, Hank, Lids, Hasek, Chelios, Holmstrom... Now, it is looking like we can add Dats, Flip, and Cleary to that list. Also, anyone who thinks this "Babcock experience" has failed, is out of their mind. No question that the Wings have less talent than in the past, and are working harder to achieve the same goals. Their new versatility in playing styles already has paid off, and if you give the guy some more time, probably will continue to pay off in the future.

All of this modern era cheap head hunting started with Scott Stevens. That guy is no hero, and he wasn't a clean hitter.
-
What is amazing is Crosby has already become one of, if not the, best players in the NHL. On the Pens, after him, I'd take Staal. Everyone is in love with Malkin, but if you watch the Pens play, Staal is way better than Malkin.

Wings = glut of young goalies. Kipper is my favorite, but he is not the direction the Wings are going to go.
-
Answer me this Legionnaire, If Tootoo's roster spot was given to a true bruiser-fighter that didn't have a reputation for cheap shots, or to someone who could actually help out on the score sheet, would the Preds be better off, or worse off?
-
Clowe is pretty well spoken from those comments. I thought he did a good job getting his point across.
-
Kipper, Iginla and Regher are players people like around here. Since Reggie's been out, and Iginla has been at school learning from Professor Lidstrom, Kipper is really the only one we've had to fear these first 2 games.
-
Kipper has played amazing, considering the team in front of him. However, because the Flames are not sacrificing everything they have to stop shots, and because Babcock has changed the entire mentality of this team, Kipper has not been able to create that aura that Giguere had in 03, he had in 04 and Roloson had in 06. More shots are getting through, and the Wings are pounding the Flames back and taking better shots. Also, a note on great goalie play: The Wings are in his face, and getting close shots. How many big rebounds has he given up? The guy is seriously a stud.
-
I wish Radulov was a Wing.
-
Visor helps for light sensitivity. Another sign that he is not "fine"
-
We will need him twice as much in the Saddledome. I think we will be fine without him, if the Wings give the same effort. On another note: Are we sure it was a concussion? The play didn't look like he hit his head that hard, but it did look like he came down on his chest (putting quite a bit of stress on his lower back).
-
Oh well, he'll be much more needed in the SaddleDome.
-
Admit it everyone, it's a rivalry. I also like the whole: It's not a rivalry because we think you're cheap. What were we saying about the Avs back in the day? Yep.
-
He's been practicing, so now is as good as anytime.

Neither Bert nor Calder have played a real agitators role on the Wings (that I have noticed). Also, I think what the flames did is look for a reason to jump a guy in a game where they were getting embarrassed. I am not sure the incident that you are talking about in the SJ game, but I'd say if SJ wanted revenge, they should have sent 1 fighter after Hartnell, and required him to fight. Unfortunately, some of the s***ty new rules in the NHL are causing a lot of this crap. Winning minds takes being level, even when your counterpart is not. It's cool if you want to overstate, but don't complain then when people use ad homs on you and overstate how dirty NSH is. ...and San Diego is literally translated as Whale's ******. Agree to disagree I guess.

There is a double standard, but you are overstating your point, which weakens your argument. Most of the regulars would not compliment a true run of a tender (I do not think Cleary actually ran Kipper, just braced himself for the inevitable). Also, most regulars really don't like cheapshots from us or the other team. Detroit really is one of the cleanest teams in the league. Wouldn't you concede that? Further, I was talking about the NSH rhetoric defending Tootoo, I feel like they enjoy being agitators and kind of have a small mans complex. They won't fight you, but they will push the limits of clean hits. (Notice, I said push the limits, not break them). Are you kidding me esteef? The playoffs are 2 months long, he is saying he's not sure if Cheechoo can return for the remainder of the playoffs, and the kid plays without a brace the day after that comment. You don't think that was over the top???
-
"Hopefully he'll be able to come back this playoff. I don't know right now." CBC Article
-
I will try to find it, but one of the pre-game articles had him quoted as saying "At this point, I am just hoping he [Cheechoo] will return for the playoffs" Again, without a source, I know my word may mean jack, but I'll look around.
-
Don't let it get to you. If you want, I will start a thread defending Lang, and you can see a lot of people turn on me. Some people in here would eat their own young if one of them took a different view on a game. Wouldn't you agree that NSH has done some press talking about how they enjoy being "bad boys?"

Did anyone notice that one of Minnesota's favorite moves on a breakaway is a slapshot from the blue line? What's up with that?
