I am also hesitant about Datsyuk's playoff performance, but recently I have been hearing more details about just how bad he was injured last year during the playoffs. It really sounds like he was a warrior just to get out there. A lot of us here thought that it wasn't that bad, but Zetterberg has made some comments to the effect that his injury this year is nowhere near as bad as Dats was last year. Changes my opinion a bit.

Rivalry game could make it better than the records reflect. If someone would just help Roloson out, EDM still has a lot of talent. Off Topic: now that EDM has destroyed all that was good in Lupul, I think the Red Wings should be waiting when he becomes a FA.

Anyone else wish that we didn't have 5 more years committed to him? 3-4 probably would have been better (then again, I don't know if Kronner was pushing for extra years in exchange for a lower salary).

I would like Datsyuk to stay, but if he doesn't, I want to use all of that money for a stud by the name of Chris Drury. He is the embodiment of the word clutch.

Who was it that intentionally lost at the end of the season in the NBA last year so they wouldn't have to play the Mavs? Yeah, sometimes losing is smart. That being said, I agree that you should play every game to win. -
What a great problem to have. The rookies are making it hard on the Wings to bench them. I'd even throw Kopecky's name in the mix for a useful big body if we need to do some pounding one game.

I am fine with Hudler having a bad attitude if he gets shafted on the playoffs. He has been Babcock's whipping boy for far too long. It is getting to epic proportions.

You are seeing the fruits of Babcock's style. Win by allowing less goals will necessitate scoring less goals. Now, we are still in a mini-drought, but the current system we play allows us to win despite the drought. If we got down by a couple of goals, I think you would see a completely different style of play (one like last year when we lost a number of games 4-6 and so on). While it may not be exciting, it does reflect Western Conference Playoff Hockey more, doesn't it?

Hudler should play over Sameulsson for a number of reasons. One of which is that I want him to have playoff experience for the future. Hudler is more of a sure part of our team in the future than Samuelsson is. Think of the future, and stop being a dick to Hudler, Babcock!

Insert generic quote of Wings winning and any concern I can conjure up after 2 consecutive wins in playoff style games here. On another note: Turco is the worst choke artist goalie. So good and dependable during the regular season; stinks in the playoffs. Here is to him being on the other team. That alone makes me consider giving the Division to NSH, and playing DAL instead of CGY.
