    Kopecky

Kopecky was big, and that's why we all had a lot of hope for him. I never felt like Kopecky was that good though. Maybe he'll pull a Franzen and come out of nowhere, but so far he has been very underwhelming.

Wings Still Want to Keep Stuart

If Stuart chooses California over Detroit because of his family, all I can say is "Well done." All of us who have asked our wife and children to sacrifice so that we can provide for them realize the struggle it is to set your priorities. I hope he signs with the Wings, but more importantly I hope he does the right thing for his wife and daughter.

Major role in 08 cup = schneider and bertuzzi

I never like Bertuzzi, but Lang and Schneider sacrificed alot when they were here. Stop being a-holes and let's just enjoy the cup. I wish those guys well (except when the play the Wings).

Getting a little nervous, Detroit fans?

As a fan, I try not to get tooooo invested. If I am a player? Yes I'm nervous. You know what that means? It means that I care about the prize and will fight for it. Does it mean I am crying in the corner? No. Does it mean that I realize there is someone's neck I have to step on to get what I want? Yes. The minute you stop respecting your opponent is the minute you lose. That's why its rare for the Wings to put together only a good third period and still win. The talent level is so close that it will take 60 good minutes to finish this thing.

Babcock calling out Dats & Hank

I had a couple thoughts about last nights game that this thread hit on: 1. Babcock played them too much. I kept thinking "geez, this isn't game 7." I am glad to hear that he pointed the finger at himself a bit. Those guys are not supermen. Remember, they have gotten us this far. For anyone who is a workaholic, you know what I am talking about. True exhaustion is not something you can "power through." 2. Zetterberg was trying to do to much by himself. I know he actually has points on the board in this series, but I was impressed with how Dats played with his teammates. He got everyone involved. It seemed like Zetts was forcing it a bit. 3. Everyone who has watched playoff hockey was expecting a loss last night. It is natural. Pens were playing for their lives. Wings relaxed and thought they could win this game with 1 good period. Next game is a toss up and it should be the best game yet! 4. Lidstrom is a stud. There were countless times when I'd get worried about a Pen forward streaking in and then notice Lids was there and think "Phew, he won't score." Sure enough, Lids got it done. Thanks all.

Mule Unleashed: Franzen a GO for Game 2

The link called him a "veteran forward." I don't really think of him as "veteran" but more of "badass." Excited to watch the game tonight.

    Olli Jokinen

He would be awesome, but too expensive. I think if we can get the Swedish kid Brunnstrom, then get Jokinen, we could trade Franzen, Hudler, and a pick.

Todd Bertuzzi offered $350,000 last year...

Moore suffered a broken neck. Meaning, Bertuzzi broke Moore's neck. Your neck is that thing between your shoulders and your head. Moore has undergone numerous surgeries and pt sessions. Moore continues, to this day, to try to rehabilitate with the help of experts. Because of nerve damage he has severe nausea when he exerts any significant amount of energy. In rare cases, some people do experience a type of nerve regeneration. This is not likely. That is nonsense. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't posit "facts" about what so-and-so would or would not be doing. It's like someone saying that "if Joe Sakic had his heart fail on him like Jiri, he'd already be back by now."

Todd Bertuzzi offered $350,000 last year...

BlakChamber, Because reasonable doubt is a HIGHER standard than preponderance of the evidence, Bertuzzi may be estopped from raising any defenses to the breach element of Moore's intentional tort claim. However, I am not familiar with Canadian law, so I can't speak authoritatively on their estoppel procedures. All the best.

    Holland shopping?

I love posters who talk about Holland in absolutes. Unless you're freaking Ken Holland, comments like this shred your believability. Point: No one has even mentiond Teemu. He's what I think of as perfect. He could mentor Flip and score goals. Plus, I love his attitude. He'd be my #1 choice.

    Short article on Downey.

Lou, Downey has convinced me that the Red Wing players want a tough guy. I think he'll be great for this season. However, I also think that at the next available opportunity, we should get a real heavyweight.

    Holland shopping?

Seriously bro, you wouldn't trade Filpulla for Doan straight up? I like Flip, but I agree, that would be a no-brainer.

Drake out with a fractured cheekbone

I'm not anti-Downey, and I still don't agree with that. This is one of your most illogical and ridiculous statements (I mean that as a compliment for how I usually appreciate your comments). Drake is useless with a cage on? He'll still do everying he's been doing, minus fights. Where are you coming from?

10/12 GDT: Chicago Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

I gotta be honest, I broke a smile when I saw that it was Lang that got us for the second time in this young season. Good for him. He is clutch when he wants to be.

    Dandenault may hit Waiver Wire

Well, that sucks for us, doesn't it?

    Dandenault may hit Waiver Wire

Where do you go to find out the current order of the queue?

    Dandenault may hit Waiver Wire

So, I guess my next hope is that he goes down and we can get him on the way back up.

    Dandenault may hit Waiver Wire

Dandy would be perfect. A team guy; great speed; good size; hard worker; and he could be the 7th defensemen or 13th forward. He's utility, and he's clutch. I remember when Bowman was talking about how championship teams are carried by guys like Dandenault. How much would he cost?

Video: Downey vs. Roy (Great tilt!)

The reason that it might matter is that in some of his more recent fights, it look'd like the opposing fighters caught on to this. When that happened, his fights turned into a real lame hugging contest, because he can't start the fight. priceless. That is funny bro. If we just want a fighter to call up, we should get some bruiser to stick in GR, and then call him up to play 2 minutes during certain games. Isn't that what a number of Eastern Conference teams do?

Video: Downey vs. Roy (Great tilt!)

I'll only ask this one more time and then leave it. Downey supporters: Would you at least agree (after watching his fights) that he has 1 move? The old "You swing first."
