The cap not going up, and most teams addressing needs through trades caused this. I think it's good for teams looking for UFA help, at least for this year, prices won't be crazy.

I'd go as high as 5.5 as long as the term is only 3/4 years. Managable contract, and potentially asset in a few years if the kids develop beyond what we expect. I just have a feeling someone else last minute will bring the $$$

Quinceys 4.25+Danny's 1mil bonus+whatever the cap goes up by would be enough to re-sign Dekeyser, Abdelkader and Helm. I do love the fact there trying to give Larkin a chance to crack the roster, kid is turning heads.

Thought it was gonna be Derek Lalonde, but nothing wrong with having strong coaching depth in all three leagues. Nelson is a PP genius, and got some alright results with a crappy Oilers team. He's been a stud in the AHL before, so I expect him to do a great job with the kids.
