NHL.tv isn't working for me either. Says there's no feeds available for any game.

WCQF Game 5 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Predators 2
Wingfan191 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Brad Stuart has been on the ice for 9 of the 13 goals scored by Nashville. That's 69% of the opposition's goals. That is INEXCUSEABLE! I'll be so glad when this clown plays on another team next year. -

Brad Stuart needs to die... ANOTHER GOAL SCORED AGAINST US WITH HIM ON THE ICE!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I really do hate it when Babcock won't play Howard on back to back nights. Especially since he just had 6 days off! It's not like he's 39 years old, he's a kid, he can handle it. I know why they didn't play Conklin last night, it's out of respect for the opponent. As much as they won't admit it, it's just an unwritten rule that you don't put your scrub goalie in net against a s***ty team "just because".

Kenneth Rucker, a.k.a. "Orange Hat Guy", passed away

Yep, Ken and Mick just talked about him. They said that seat will not be allowed to be sat in or used for the rest of the season. -

Homer didn't get a game misconduct, he'll be back in the 3rd. -
Because they don't play Detroit 82 times a season.

God I love how predictable this team is. I called this 4 days ago.

I'd almost want to gamble on a guy like Afinogenov. He's coming off 2 s***ty seasons in Buffalo, so he can't be asking for too much money, but he has the potential to be a Hudler like player and possibly even better if surrounded with the right players. He had back to back 20 goal season in 06 and 07, along with 61 pts in 56 games in 07 and was a +19. He'll also turn 30 in September, so he still should be in his prime, and at 6 feet, 190, he'll be a bigger body than Hudler for sure. His last contract had a cap hit of 3.3 mil, so maybe they can talk him into a one year "try out" kind of deal to redeem himself at like 2.3 mil. Then if he responds well, we can afford to pay him 3.5 or whatever next year and sign him long term.

Well with Leino re-signing that gives the Wings 10 forwards, 8 d, and 2 goalies officially. We're still 2 forwards short and they only have like 3 mil left. Hudler is filing for arbitration and seeing as how he put up career numbers and will be a constant 20 goal scorer he's going to be commanding at least 3 mil a season. ESPECIALLY with Flip getting 3 mil as a comparison. The only way I see the Wings keeping Huds, is if they say to him, "look, we want to keep you around, but we can't afford to give you the 3 mil right now, so how about you re-sign for 2 years at a slight increase, then we'll up your contract after that when we have the cap space again?" So he can either wait it out for 2 years at a home town discount, or move on to another team and make his money. Since he already has a ring, it's not like he needs to go to a contender right away and might put up with just being on a "decent" team that has a shot at the playoffs. So, if we lose Hudler, I'd almost want to gamble on a guy like Afinogenov. He's coming off 2 s***ty season in Buffalo, so he can't be asking for too much money, but he has the potential to be a Hudler like player and possibly even better if surrounded with the right players. He had back to back 20 goal season in 06 and 07, along with 61 pts in 56 games in 07 and was a +19. He'll also turn 30 in September, so he still should be in his prime, and at 6 feet, 190, he'll be a bigger body than Hudler for sure. His last contract had a cap hit of 3.3 mil, so maybe they can talk him into a one year "try out" kind of deal to redeem himself at like 2 or 2.5 mil. Then if he responds well, we can afford to pay him 3.5 or whatever next year and sign him long term.

For those of you wondering why his salary is only 800K instead of the 850K or more, it's because when you're on a 2 way contract like he was last season, he wasn't getting paid 850K while in the minors. He gets his AHL salary, then when he's called up, he's put on the 850K salary paid out normally. And don't forget, players don't get paid in the playoffs. He was essentially getting paid his AHL contract all last season except for like 4 weeks of the season when he saw a big bump up to his 850K salary. Now that he'll be on the roster full time, he'll be getting at least double what he made last year, all through out the season, which he should be very happy about.

I wrote this on another forum, but it applies here The following players are free agents this summer UFA's: Hossa, Samuelsson, Kopecky, McCarty, Downey, Chelios, Conklin RFA's: Hudler, Leino Obviously McCarty and Chelios are gone, but what about everyone else? Our cap hit next season is 51.255 I'm guessing the cap will come down from the 57.806 that it's at now to about 56 mil. That only leaves the Wings with like 5.7 mil to spend to resign quite a few players. They're going into next year with 10 forwards, 8 D, and technically 2 goalies under contract. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Cleary, Holmstrom, Draper, Maltby, Filppula, Helm, and Abdelkader Lidstrom, Rafalski, Stuart, Kronwall, Lebda, Lilja, Ericsson, Meech Osgood, Howard My guess is that in a perfect world the Wings would like to keep Hossa, Hudler, Leino, and Conklin first. But I have a feeling Hudler will command at least 3 mil, Leino is making .875, so he probably goes up to 1 mil a year, Conklin was making .750 and he can probably get at least 1 mil somewhere else as a backup, and of course Hossa alone is easily at least 5 mil. I see no value in keeping Kopecky since he's nothing special in the least. He doesn't use his size, he's not a scorer, and his D game is lacking. He's also injured quite a bit. But we need bodies on the roster and he only made .525 last season. Downey I'd like to keep just cause the Wings need at least one tough guy who can fight and Downey has been pretty reliable when called upon. Only making .575, can't seem him making any more than that. And of course everyone knows how I feel about Samuelsson. My only fear is that Babcock seems to love him so damn much for that 2nd unit point on the pp. He made 1.2 mil last season, and because he had a near 20 goal season this year, I could see him getting a bit more than that. My gut is that we're gonna field the same team as last year, minus Hudler and Hossa. If they give Sammy 1.5, Leino 1 mil, Downey .575, Conklin 1 mil, and Kopecky .700 that's 4.775 mil, which leaves us 1 mil in wiggle room which Holland likes to keep.

You trade his ass with Stuart to Florida for Vokoun, bring up Ericsson.

Conks is only responsible for the 2nd and 3rd goals. The 1st he had no chance on and the 4th one he never saw through the 4 bodies in front of him. Did any of you actually see the replay from the angle of the Hawks shooter? You couldn't even see Conklin behind the 2 Wings and 2 Hawks bodies. The D has been atrocious, just letting the Hawks shoot unchallenged. But I'm so glad we're paying our 2nd D line a combined 7 million dollars...

Ok guys, here's all the pics I was able to save from the playoffs (also includes the parade), it's 233 megs and like 1800 photos. These are all Getty or AP photos at high res, have fun! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UWPS2SN0

Yeah I don't get why EA would make him #6 after he wore 23 last year for us. They must just have one guy who does all that stuff and since he has to go through 600 players, he probably just missed a few. Same thing as them spelling Kronwall, "Kronvall" with the V instead of W in the game. They must've used the NHL.com score sheet, since that's how it's spelled on there due to a VISA error when he and his brother came over to the States. The correct way is with the W, obviously since that's how he has it on his jersey in real life. Some people think the V spelling is his Swedish version, but it's not, it's just a mistake.

All I know is that Buccigross used to call him Big Poppa Pump Marian Hossa when he'd do the NHL2Night highlights.

Ahh, how sweet it looks http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/142/14230950/imgs_1.html EA already released a bunch of new NHL 09 screens with the FA's on their new teams although they messed up Hossa's number...

Nevermind, I didn't read the story all the way through, nothing to see here.

I'm like 66% done, but I've been DL'ing since last night at around the same time, why isn't this thing going any faster? I've been connected for 23 hours and 37 minutes, haha.
