Hackett is a capable goalie. He played few games with the Wild during last season. But they also have Darcy Kuemper who is probably about as good as Hackett. This trade was the first time I heard about Johan Larsson. This year was his first year in AHL. He is probably one of top 4 forward prospects for the Wild (others being Granlund, Coyle, and Zucker). Wild also gave up their 1st pick this year and second next year. This is a lot to give up. For that much they should have taken Vanek (plus he played for Gophers).

The only purpose of that hit was to hurt the guy. And Perry did hit him in the head. I do not think height difference excuses it one bit. Zucker needs to learn that even without the puck you have to pay attention for his own safety, but it does not mean that the hit was legal.

What Datsyuk brings to the game is well established. His current linemate selection would not affect his value.

I doubt Pavel will play until he is 43.

I can see Wild having an issue with this plan. Might as well move Minnesota to Canada. It is a proposal. So as I understand it both NHL and NHLPA have to have some kind of a vote on it.

Abdelkader should be told that when Datsyuk is your center your are not there to think. Dig the puck, give it to Pavel, make yourself open and wait for it.

According to the rules just leading with the knee (which Hall did) is enough for it to be called "kneeing". Extending the leg out is not necessary. Some Oiler's fans called it a hip check. I do not think a miss would have given him a penalty shot. If he does not manage to get back up then I can see it being awarded.

The difference is just 13 feet (4 meters). There got to be a way to modify existing buildings provided there is a will to do that.

I went to see Minnesota Timberwolves play twice basically for free. I had to buy some stuff in a grocery store (like few boxes of cereal) and got the tickets. No such thing for Minnesota Wild.

As far as I know NHLPA did not reject last proposal based on its merits but because they were not consulted. It is unclear if players have any issue with the realignment.
