Some may interpret this thread as a knee jerk reaction, but consider what our big turn around was last season. It took a plague of injuries to see what Nyquist, Sheahan, Tatar, Jurco could bring to the table and now they are ALL on the roster because of their performance. Give the kids a shot, why not? It may be the push they need back in the right direction of a successful start to the season. I don't see it hurting anything, they can't show off what they got if they don't get the opportunity. I'm not opposed to a Teemu appearance. Kindl can take off also in favor of XO.

Would you be referring to the Fox Sports glow puck?! I still have a recorded game on a VHS tape where the glow puck was used. I cherish it and one day will hand it down to my children.

I think last year especially, the outdoor games got entirely overdone and it lost that "special occasion" appeal. If it were up to me, i'd do it in rotation with the Olympics. One Winter Classic game for 3 years, take a year off for the Winter Olympics. 3 Winter Classic games total every 4 years, no Stadium Series, no other events. Keep it limited and maintain the feel of it being an important event. That's just how I feel about it.

I think this is newsworthy enough for it's own thread. I think the Pens win this deal, like the rest are saying, it's a late 1st rounder. Klinkhammer isn't a terrible 3rd or 4th line option either, but Perron is a quality player to get in return. While Edmonton is wheeling and dealing with the Roy trade and now this, it's an ideal time to ship them Kindl and/or Lashoff for Petry.

Living in Tennessee, I get all the home Preds games locally and have watched a handful of their games this season when the Wings weren't on. While I initially didn't agree with a couple moves they made like letting Hornqvist go, they really do look like a team that has things figured out. Us Wings fans struggle with consistency problems that have been ongoing for a few seasons now, while Nashville is doing quite the opposite right now. It helps that they have a world class goalie like Rinne between the pipes also, I easily put him up there with the league's elite. They made big changes, showed that they wanted to turn their team around with the coaching change and all the player additions and subtractions. While I don't forget the past, it's good to see them be a bit more successful and a state like Tennessee supporting hockey and they aren't headed down the path of the Coyotes.

Apologies for not updating this, wound up having to work a double and didn't get home until after the game was over, I figured by that time updating the GDT with graphics and what not was pointless. Sorry to drop the ball on my commitment to posting the GDT for this game.

A hard restart generally fixes these minor hiccups, and is perfectly safe as a first step troubleshoot in the future. When the power of the console is on, simply hold your finger on the front console power touch button, if you keep your finger held there, it will chime but remain on for about 4 or 5 seconds. Once it shuts off, remove your finger and let it sit for 30 seconds. It's similar to recycling your router, and is generally the first recommended step to address issues like connection, sluggishness, or in-game errors.

Rush? Common shape of a Valentine

The "Tower defense" aspect of the game really only comes up 4 times or so during the entire experience. I really feel like the record launcher is completely useless, I made without it the more weapons I unlocked. What I did was set up a lot of traps in one or two entrances where you don't have to worry about it and focus on the one that is entirely unguarded. I'd use the compensator to begin with, if you ignite larger enemies especially, switch to the magnum to tear them down fast until they aren't engulfed anymore. Save the teddy launcher for the final minute or so, try to bounce around more than grind to get a higher view of the map and drop those explosive teddy bears at the hordes. You don't have to be perfect to succeed, you just have to survive the time. Try to get a general idea of where each tower is and don't stray too far, if it's under attack, the teddy launcher will expel most enemies with concentrated damage the fastest. I also find the dive bomb melee extremely effective as you can drop in the middle of enemies and knock a lot of them back effectively. More importantly, don't get turned off by this aspect of the game as it really doesn't come up too often. The more side missions you do, the better defenses you can unlock before the next story mission throws you into another defense scenario. Once you start getting the rocket turrets and those that are more powerful, it becomes a lot easier. I personally really like the tower defense style, but a lot see it as a drawback. Fortunately, it's really a very minimal part of the experience the further you get.

I played it and beat it, I thought it was fantastic. It's a little tough to learn at first but once you get the hang of it, it gets better and better the more weapons you unlock. Good humor and fun gameplay.

I've always wondered if you could track down the Guiness Book of World Records fattest man, strap some pads on him, and just literally plug up the entire net with him. Is there a rule in the NHL rule book about this? Are there weight parameters that say "If the goalie is large enough that there is no longer an opening to the net, he cannot play in the NHL?". It surely would solve our shootout issues if there was no entrance to the net at all. If we can keep this thread respectful and on point about Howard's performance in shootouts, and his percentages indeed being among the lowest, it may continue. Let's keep it friendly, it is the holiday season after all.
