I'd like to see a Helm, Datsyuk, Nyquist top line, resurrect the kid line as the 2nd and roll Franzen, Legwand, Alfredsson as the old and lazy 3rd line. What is going out there right now isn't working, mix it up Babs.

Too close for comfort right now, I wanna see another big surge in the 3rd and get a W out of this game.

Tough game tonight, i'm glad we racked up as many points as we have these past few games so this one isn't as desperate. It will be a challenge but I think our boys can overcome the odds. Lines are a complete guess, I am not going to be able to re-update it before tomorrow night's game so I took a crack at what I think the starting lines might look like going by what was rolled in the game against Buffalo. Someone will post more accurate ones as game time closes in i'm sure. Monster is confirmed to play, Price is not but highly likely to get the start. Get this win guys and make the path to the playoffs that much easier for our remaining games. GO RED WINGS!!

On topic, i've been in this mindset for weeks, the kids are working, they are scoring, they provide energy. The defense is an obvious problem right now, it was the offense, and it was addressed by calling up prospects that have thrived. Logic tells me that doing the same for defense may have the same result. Give one or two of the defense prospects a chance, especially if we secure a playoff spot and have a few games remaining to test it out.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we all want to know the answer to that question.

Two more, we tossed a stunner at Boston in the 3rd, who knows.

Outshooting Montreal 25-17, it really doesn't feel that way.

I get small mistakes and mental breakdowns from the younger players once or twice a game, but Kindl is a train wreck. This season we have thrived off of calling up the kids and prospects, putting them in important situations and getting a positive result. Why not take a shot at some young defender in our system, call them up, bench Kindl for a couple games, and see how it goes? I really don't see any negatives in this scenario, especially for the last few games if we clinch a playoff spot.

Awesome, i'm excited to have him as a 4th line staple for the next 3 years, he plays smart and even though he may score 3 goals in his career he brings more to the table non-offensively related for this to be a quality signing for us. I hope he continues to develop his game and remain an agitator, but maintains a certain level of class and represents this team well.

Datsyuk returns tonight!! Welcome back Pav! Buffalo is down their first two goaltenders, along with Stewart and Myers. Their lineup looks pretty awful, and we have our best Center back in. If we can't beat Buffalo tonight there is something seriously wrong, this should be an easy two points for us. Detroit wins 7-2, Glendening scores his first (ha!), Nyquist does something amazing, Pav shows us why he was missed so much. GO WINGS GO!!

Nashville is now geographically the closest arena to me, attending the event would be something i'd like to do. I don't necessarily love the event, I still watch it on television but it doesn't entertain me as much as it did when I was a kid. It would be something I would enjoy witnessing once in person though if I could land tickets. I still wouldn't cheer for Weber though.

It wasn't exactly pretty, and a bit more close than I would have anticipated, but a win is a win and it's still two points if the score is 3-2 or 7-2. Tougher game tomorrow against Montreal, Patches had a 5 point night tonight and has been on fire lately. We need the D to show up and shut down their offense or it might be a rough one. I'll have the GDT posted up tonight regardless.

I don't want to overstep here and go overboard, but I can see him in the future playing the same role Larionov did. He has the passing skills already, numerous times a game you look at a play he makes and think "What a pass by Sheahan there". He's capable of being among the better playmaking 2nd line centers in the league, might drop a few 50 assist seasons down the line. Who knows, but right now, first year, thrown into this situation not even anticipating playing for the Wings for a few years, he has impressed me and is a valuable piece to our current run.

Lines are considering the more likely event that Datsyuk does not return tonight, Friday sounds like a realistic expectation for his return. He has not been ruled out of tonight's game though, i'd be thrilled to have Pav back in the midst of our recent great play. Starting goaltenders are unconfirmed, but very likely. This will be a difficult game, I think we edge the Bruins 5-4 in OT. Glendening scores his first (this prediction is bound to come true, right?), Nyquist with a goal and a helper, Kronwall with a couple and Franzen with the GWG. Lets go boys, the more we win now the better our chances continue to be to make it 23 years straight. GO WINGS GO!!!
