Spam in general is annoying, I get minimal spam texts though. The person below me didn't watch the Super Bowl.

"A shut-out shared between two goaltenders on the same team is credited to neither - the shut-out is only credited as a team shut-out." Also confirmed, the goaltender on the ice during the GWG is the one credited with the W/L. -

I believe neither are credited with the shutout, Howard gets the W for playing more minutes. Correct me if i'm wrong someone but I think that's how this works. -

I was gonna guess Gretzky, he's usually the safe guess when it comes to NHL feats. I'm gonna need an answer to this question, i'd hate to think my Beavis masterpiece jinxed us. -

I want a celebratory hat trick out of Nyquist for making the olympics. -
I'm a bit on the fence so stick with me here for a moment. I'm not defending the Refs, nor am I saying bad calls never happen. It is true it happens in all sports, It's bad in Baseball, it's bad in the NFL and they do have video replay which they review during challenges and still at times get it wrong. I don't know how often I am watching a game and I say to myself after a penalty is called "I need to see the replay, I didn't catch what happened." That's because one pair of human eyes can't watch what all 10 skaters are doing at one time on the ice. I understand it is their job, I get this is what they are paid to do, but until there are 6+ refs on the ice to catch everything, a ton of delays from conferences and discussions, or excessive video replays, i'll take the human error over what it could come down to which is a painstaking process to determine the validity of a minor penalty. They need to make snap decisions based on what they see at that time. The trip in overtime wasn't a great call, but it wasn't an awful call either. In the moment, the angle the ref is standing, and what the infraction appeared to be, you cannot fault the ref. There is such a fine line of determining right in that minute if the blade of the stick caught the skate or the skate caught the stick. Either way I doubt anyone here watching the game was 100% confident during live action as it happened before the replay was shown with absolute certainty it was or was not a penalty. This is the reality of sports, and being a sports fan. I don't want video review after every infraction. I don't want computers or technology determining what is and is not a penalty. I don't want to sit in front of the television for 10-15 minutes, have them cut to commercial break just to return to determine if a penalty is a penalty or not. That is a ridiculous concept coming from a hockey fan and a sports fan in general, it would slow the pace of the game, and just cause further drama and annoyance. It was one call in overtime in 1 of 82 regular season games. The refs aren't out to get the Red Wings, it's our viewpoint as fans to defend every action of our players at all times, more times than not because of our bias we won't agree with calls. So what can be done about the refs? As far as i'm concerned the system as it sits is fine. You take the good with the bad, sometimes it goes our way, sometimes it doesn't. This is how sports have always been and will continue to be.

GDT looks great! I didn't realize Vancouver was so banged up, hoping that works to our advantage. Let's win this one in regulation, OT games do not favor us this season. 3-1 Wings final, Nyquist pots another, Kronwall and Eaves with the rest. -
Thanks for volunteering, looking forward to seeing what you post up!

gdt 2/2 GDT: Red Wings 5 at Capitals 6 (OT)
MabusIncarnate replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
That is tough to disagree with, likely why both teams records are so similar as well. I think when healthy our offensive lines are stronger overall but as it sits above with Datsyuk and Franzen out it's looking like a pretty balanced match up. I'm taking Wings in another heart twisting OT/SO game, 4-3 final. Zett notches a pair, Alf and Sheahan potting the other two. -

They look awfully rough beyond that top line, and Johansson is a borderline top 6 imo he just plays with two world class players. I'd assume those 3 are responsible for 75% of the entire teams offense at minimum. -
First off Kronwall is unquestionably a top 30 defender, i'm not sure why he wouldn't be considered as such. Also, there have been a lot of new threads being posted lately that are strikingly similar to others with small vague side points trying to set them apart as their own topic. Please be conscious of threads that already exist pertaining to topics including team moves, team future, offseason moves, etc. This is why I merged these two topics together to prevent a bit of clutter and keep the same discussion in the same area of the forums. Thanks.

What is your favorite indie game or games?
MabusIncarnate replied to Hey man nice shot!'s topic in Water Cooler
Survive to wave 30 is the only one I need as well, I have a couple of friends that want this as the last achievement also. Maybe the 4 of us could meet up one night and knock it out. Using the highest grade Sniper Turrets and dual Albert Snipers I was able to get to wave 26 solo, so with some support of people who know what they are doing and are familiar with the game we should have no problem. Iron Brigade is something I bought when it first released as i'm a fan of Double Fine games, and it quickly became one of my favorites. The 2nd free game this month, Toy Soldiers Cold War is also similar to Iron Brigade as a tower defense style with action elements allowing you to control units and turrets on the battlefield. That's another one i'll gladly offer up assistance on once it releases on the 15th, I own it as well. -
Red Wings Lines Nyquist - Zetterberg - Abdelkader Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Andersson - Helm - Alfredsson Miller - Glendening - Eaves Kronwall - Ericsson Quincey - DeKeyser Kindl - Smith Howard Capitals Lines Johansson - Backstrom - Ovechkin Erat - Laich - Brouwer Chimera - Beagle - Wilson Fehr - Wellman - Ward Carlson - Alzner Orlov - Green Erskine - Carrick Neuvirth Sorry for the generic GDT today, i'll get back on the ball with a full one for next game. Looking to put that last awful game behind us and move forward here with a big win. GO WINGS GO!!
