GDT 1/18 GDT: Kings 2 @ Red Wings 3 (Shootout)
MabusIncarnate replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
Me and a few friends have been playing it online a lot again lately since it was free last month, still holds up as a solid MP game. We really needed this W tonight, even though the Kings got screwed (and i'm gonna hear about it from a big ego kings fan friend of mine tonight i'm sure) it's a victory in the books. Positives, Howard playing well again, Sheahan has really stepped up and Tatar has about cemented himself in this lineup permanently. Negatives, still way too many injuries, not scoring enough goals in regulation. We need more luck going forward until we get some key players back. Otherwise it will continue to be a rocky road. -

Can't we just shoot at foam targets instead, quickest to break 4 wins? -

Sure until it's forgotten by next game and everyone goes back to complaining about the officiating. -

Must score.. come on. Your home is the net, puck. Go to your home. ARE YOU TOO GOOD FOR YOUR HOME?! -
Interesting article pertaining to this exact topic, sounds like the Wings management is starting to see a problem also. http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/pleiness-red-wings-coach-gm-say-theyve-audited-training-staff-are-investiga

Most recent posted projected lines earlier this evening were as follows... Nyquist-Zetterberg-Abdelkader Jurco-Sheahan-Bertuzzi Miller-Emmerton-Samuelsson Cleary-Glendening-Eaves Then it was later stated that Tatar was back in, Sammy is likely out. My mindset working with the lineups from practice today, that puts Tatar on the 2nd line in place of Sheahan bumping him to the 3rd. Knowing Glendening is also listed at RW he is likely less valuable than Eaves on that position putting Glendening on the 4th line RW spot kicking Eaves up to the 3rd and having Emmerton take 4th line center. It is projected, when it comes to making the graphics, updating it before gametime, and getting it posted up the night before because of my own personal schedule, sometimes there is a lot of guessing and speculating for lines and whatnot. Sometimes it's logical, sometimes it's like tossing darts because who knows what it's going to look like tomorrow. -
Of course, how else would I entertain myself while waiting for dinner? The person below can play a musical instrument.

I have no plants because I forget to water my plants. I can't even keep cactus alive. The person below me has never owned and will never own a motorcycle.

@ Dropkick - State of Decay is kind of the first open world zombie game to come out. Its somewhat comparable to Dead Rising if you ever played those, but each experience is unique. You are thrown into an unexplored world, and a bunch of random missions for you to accept or decline. If you find survivors and successfully bring them back to your home base, you can actually use them as playable characters or bring them with you to assist with missions. There's a lot of scavenging which gives it a real situation feeling, you use and live off of solely what you can dig up in abandoned homes and work sheds. If you take a car from the street and destroy it, there is no respawn, it is gone forever. With that said, there are only so many limited resources around the world so if you use and destroy all vehicles instead of park them and repair them inbetween missions you will be doing a lot of moving on foot. Each character has their own unique RPG leveling style. If you get one character up to say 7 fighting, 4 cardio, and you die once, that character is gone forever and you have to start with a new survivor at your home base. If you run out of survivors the game ends. It's all about real world logic, how you leave your home when you aren't there, how much you want to invest in protection and how much you want to utilize those survivors for the longevity of the game. You can keep what you find such as weapons and ammo, or donate it to your home base cache of supplies that you can take back later on while building positive reputation among the community. There are hundreds of different guns and melee weapons with randomly spread throughout the world, no item will be in the same place during any other playthrough, what you find there and then is what you get. It's smart and very different, i've found it to be addictive and enjoyable so far.

Andersen was actually in net for Anaheim as the 3rd string with Hiller and Fasth out, very solid and exciting game for him. Lack and Eriksson for Vancouver didn't fare so well, I believe it was Eriksson's first NHL game and let in 6. Not exactly a star-studded goalie battle this time out. All the Ducks except 3 put up points also, some solid balance among the lineup tonight. When I see games like this it always brings me back to the game where we lit up Montreal for 11 goals and forced Roy out for good because they wouldn't pull him and allowed him to get embarrassed. Kind of bit us in the ass down the stretch with all of those Wings Avs games later on down the road, imagine how things would have been if Roy stayed and retired in Montreal.

That sounds different.. probably a nice break from being blown up by tanks and planes all game. I haven't gotten BF4 yet but in previous games I loved the Engineer class with tank mines, I was pretty creative hiding them and racking up kills on tank abusers. I'm still on State of Decay, never played a game quite like it. Very addictive and intense.

That's because Datsyuk is the best Russian to ever do it! He deserves these honors and i'm excited for him.

This is just speculation, but to me it would make sense. Generally what makes sense to us doesn't make sense to upper Wings management so i'm not going to consider this a possibility. I think he would be a good fit here, he's obviously got some leadership skills, isn't afraid to hit and stick up for his team mates, and would add some much needed grit and passion to the team. You hate him when he's not on your team because that is the kind of presence he brings to the ice, and I think that is the kind of player we are lacking. I'd welcome Ott with open arms, I just don't see it happening.
