Yes, my sister just had two boys back to back, there's been a lot of baby stuff going on in the past couple years. Oddly enough her first was the first time I ever held a baby and i'm 32. The person below me got pee'd on the first time they held a baby.

This is good news, also getting Pav back tomorrow from the sound of it. All things considered and the last game against Florida aside, this team did pretty well during these injury woes.

I think in longer terms Nyquist will have more value and become a better player. No discredit to Tatar, he will be an excellent 3rd liner that can fill in for the 2nd line when called upon but I don't really see him becoming much more than a 40-50 point per season player. Nyquist I think when he reaches his prime is capable of a few 60+ point seasons, hopefully more. I hope they both stick around for a while and get the proper ice time to live up to their true potential, if there's one thing Detroit excels at it's drafting and I have a lot of faith in the youth in the Wings system.

For the rest of this month, Xbox 360 Gold members can enjoy a downloadable copy of Fable 3 completely free of charge. This is the first of many to come, Microsoft announced that they will release two free downloadable games per month until December. To get your free copy of Fable 3, from the dashboard go to the Games tab, On Demand, A to Z, select F and search for Fable 3. As long as you are a gold member the full game is free to download. If you encounter an error code when you are in the download screen, hit X to change payment method to Microsoft points and try again, you will not be charged. The two free games for July will be Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2. Check back as i'll keep this updated with the August announcements and whatever else is on the way from there forward. There should be a total of 13 free games released by the end of December, so make sure you get your free copies before the offer runs out.

I'm listening to the UFO Paranormal Network Radio hoping for some kind of extraterrestrial explanation as to why tonight happened the way it did. Body snatchers, mind control, there's an answer here somewhere.

I don't see a reason to not start Monster again next time out. He played exceptionally tonight even with the loss. He faced a ton of shots and kept them in the game all night. Roll the hot hand while it's still burning.

Send a message, regardless of current injuries make Weiss a healthy scratch against Tampa. He's capable of being a 60 point player, I really don't know what his problem is but a wake up call outside of burying him on the 4th line is much needed. Give Nyquist, Tatar, and the kids that are playing like they care top minutes until the big guns return. They are putting up the offense, reward them.

One ties it one wins it in OT.

Down our best offensive players, 4th in the east, 4 points behind first place in the East, 2 if we win tonight. What is the line of expectations here, anything less than first place is unacceptable regardless if Pav and Zett are down? I'm pretty damn proud of where this team sits considering the struggles of Howard and the injuries we've faced this season. On top of it.. the game is tied. People are acting like we are losing 5-1 right now.

15-8-7 is a terrible worthless record we have also.

So next gen consoles? Who is making the jump
MabusIncarnate replied to frankgrimes's topic in Water Cooler
There's a few reasons for me. The primary is you buy a console and it's capable of running the games you buy at the highest performance for the next 7+ years. A PC requires graphic card, RAM, and processor upgrades which can cost upwards of $1,000 over that span. I don't disrespect PC gaming, but I don't want to buy a PC and have a game on it chug along 2 years later at a low framerate and less resolution because the system is already outdated. Also I have a lot of gamer friends, 99% of them are console gamers. If I made the switch to PC I really would only have a small handful of guys to play with opposed to the guys I play with on a daily basis being strict console gamers. I've been console loyal since the atari, went through a NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, 3DO, Sega CD, Gamecube, PS, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, and now Xbox 360. It's what I grew up on and have stuck with along the way. I'm sure others feel the same about PC and have been down the same path throughout their gaming life also. It's just personal preference. -
gdt 12/6 GDT 7:00PM: Red Wings 3 at Devils 1

It appears Schneider will be starting in goal tonight, not Brodeur. A bit late to make the graphic adjustment but wanted to make it known before game time. -
gdt 12/6 GDT 7:00PM: Red Wings 3 at Devils 1

GDT updated with adjusted NJD lines after Brunner was declared a healthy scratch. This was my first attempt at a GDT, thanks a lot for the positive feedback everyone! Wings will bounce back in a big way, win this game 5-2 with another big game from Mule. GO WINGS!! -
Lundqvist, Rangers agree on extension.
MabusIncarnate replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
Too long of a contract in my opinion, especially considering the Rangers horrible luck in recent history with contracts like this. With that said, as mentioned in this thread previously, Girardi is a guy I would welcome in our defensive lineup. It's difficult to imagine Callahan goes elsewhere, as much as i'd like him here, it's a relatively unrealistic expectation. -
Fable 3 Free, Two Free Games Per Month
MabusIncarnate replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in Water Cooler
We have a pretty extensive Skyrim thread buried in the Video Gaming section here somewhere, has some good advice and if you need assistance one of us Skyrim nuts can surely help. -
I'd buy a HD remake of FFVII in a heartbeat, it was likely my favorite game on the original Playstation. Other companies attempted to do so, like Capcom remaking Resident Evil and RE2 on Gamecube and although the remake was pretty incredible (I purchased both) the sales just weren't there to justify the time and money it took to revamp it completely from the ground up. Now another example like Jedi is talking about above, is how they reformatted Resident Evil 4 and re-released it on the Xbox marketplace as a Game On Demand. They didn't have to change the game, the code, they just had to change the resolution, do some anti-aliasing work and resell it for $30. It was minimal effort but being the game itself was so brilliant it sold well and they profited from it.

I finished my GDT for Friday and only intend on posting it up for this game. Again Its a template I can use going forward and just swap out the opponents on it so I can do more in the future if need be. Mikey and Flashy still have priority, i'll remain as a fill in throughout the season, I just wanted to put this through a test run as it's my first GDT. Thanks guys.

Monster has a bit more luck on his side because his behemoth of a body happens to stop the puck more often in desperation situations. With size is reduced agility which i'm sure is something he's battled with his entire life as a goaltender. Howard won't adjust this rut he's in if he keeps sitting and forfeiting starts to Gus.

If it makes you feel better Schneider blew two late 3rd period leads tonight. I'm about on the same page as puckbags, sucks that we lost, we aren't going 82-0-0 every season. Games like this have happened before, they will happen again. If being passive aggressive towards your fellow fans about it and preaching lineup and roster setups that will make zero difference on how this team goes forward because you have no control over it makes you feel better than that's on you. We are down our top 2 offensive threats. We are down one of our best defensive players in Dekeyser. There was an extreme difference in line combinations tonight and took a lead midway through the game. As its happened many times before, especially in the playoffs last year, the lead was blown and the game was lost. This is still a playoff team, our overall record is still pretty great all things considered. The season isn't even 1/3rd of the way done and NO TEAM plays consistently excellent hockey through the entire season. It just doesn't happen. I choose to not get into arguments and point fingers because it makes the loss sting even more. People handle things how they want to handle things, no one should be disrespected for taking either approach, but don't expect people to enjoy taking disrespect with a smile when you confront them directly on their opinion. If we all felt the same way and acted the same way about everything this would be a pretty boring discussion forum. Just keep it civil because you are among fellow fans.

So soon we forget the 29 save shutout posted by Howard last time out.

Helm needs to center the top line next game and see how that goes, he's shown a lot more energy and drive consistently than Weiss.
-
Theres a thread for that... http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/75602-the-dan-cleary-hate-zone/ Just tossing it out there as most of the discussion continues to be Cleary hate and not about the game underway.

Game On... hold the lead boys.
