Cleary can't manage to score with one of the most elite players in the world on his line, time to Ryan Whitney his ass and make him a healthy scratch every other game for a couple weeks and let him try to snap out of it. Play him one game, no points, scratch him next game. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Started to develop some momentum in the dying minute of OT.. really gotta revisit extending regular season overtime to ten minutes. Five isn't really enough, i'd like to see statistically how many OT games went to a shootout compared to how many OT games were won in the actual OT period.

Fantasy hockey is going well this season..

Still on Dead Space 3, taking my time and enjoying it. Been playing Dragon's Dogma on the side also. I bought The Saboteur online for ten bucks and played a little bit of it. Reminds me of a Grand Theft Auto style game with open world that takes place during WW2. The art style reminds me of Sin City with the combination of black and white with some color highlights throughout. It makes for a very different and visually appealing game. If GTA is your type of game and you are itching for an open world game right now it's a nice pickup for the price.

So Franzen can "do it" also yet he's the most targeted player on this team with 29 goals and 28 goals his last two seasons. Franzen comes cheaper and doesn't spend nearly as much time in the box. If you just said 6.5 is more like a good contract for Clarkson then i'm at a loss for words and don't even know how to reply to that, moreso that you would be willing to pay that much for Clarkson.

Let's be honest, the Norris is about 90% stats and it's not as ridiculous as people make it seem. Fact is, I believe Letang should be nominated this season. Do I watch Pens hockey? No. Have I seen half of their games this year? Nope. Is it possible for anyone voting on these trophies to watch more than half of every team play every season? It's impossible. I can sit here and give a fair assessment of Kronwall because I watch most of the Wings games and see him play. If I were to sit here and say I watch a majority of every team in the NHL play for most of their regular season games, i'd be a liar. No one can really give a fair overall assessment because unless you spend all day every day watching replays of the hockey games you missed the night before and even then you still can't manage to watch it all. You can fairly follow one or two teams, watch close to all of their games during the season and calibrate with other people voting who watch other teams. It's just a different perspective on things, but it's tough for me to beat up on someone when we as fans sit here and make predictions for trophies at the end of the season and predict guys that we maybe saw play 4-5 games all season. How many people said Karlsson should win the Norris last season? A lot. How many watched more than half a dozen full Sens games last season? Probably not many if any. I'm not a stats guy but when it comes to instances like this they become more necessary considering all factors. Just like i'm a non-pens fan saying Letang should be nominated, other guys that are non-wings fans are saying Kronwall should be in the running. But I will say, it's for DEFENSIVE player of the year, not best offensive defensemen, so considering Kronwalls early lapses, unless he completely turns it around and stays defensively excellent, I don't believe he should be a nominee right now.

Tatar - Datsyuk - Andersson I like it.. while we are experimenting with keeping Datsyuk away from our best players why not?

Star Wars episode VII : The Arthritis Strikes Back I'm also a Firefly fan, own them all on dvd. Damn shame the fate of that series was. I think Phantom Menace was the worst of the newer releases, i'm not as hard on Episode 2 and 3 as most SW fans are but I try to remain realistic in the fact that we probably won't see another quality film like the original trilogies. I'd like to see them go off with Shadow of the Empire at some point, although there are some very good books out there among the hundreds that would justify a film.

I've got two friends that are die hard Devils fans that complain about him like people around here complain about Franzen. Do we need/want another punching bag? And I agree with Flashy.. kind of playing out of his skill level lately, he hasn't proven he can do this consistently or that he's worth that kind of money. I'd like to see him play a full 82 game year and see what kind of production he can put up and maintain.

LA proved last season that anything can happen though, in hockey you honestly never know.

Change the 2nd line = more goals. I thought we were banged up, probably the first time all season the opposing team has more injuries than we do. Howard keeps us in it yet again, wings win 3-1 with an empty netter. GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!

I'm in favor of it. If they do go this route it should be like when they made Helmets mandatory, existing players have the option if they want to use it or not, but any new players entering the league would be required to wear them. I remember earlier memories of Craig Mactavish skating around helmetless as he was the last of the generation to not wear one by choice.

There's already a big assed thread about Bouwmeester in the rumor section pretty much covering all opinions and whatnot about this guy. I'm hearing blurbs that Streit might be available around deadline time, that's a rental D i'd take here.

For that price i'd take two Bouwmeesters and that's saying a lot. I'm very familiar with Campbell, he is not worth that contract and is not what we need here. While i'm not gonna call this thread ridiculous, i'm pretty much going to reflect everything number9 said above because it's dead on.

It's time to let this thread die, it can go back and forth for the remainder of Howard's career as a Red Wing. Has a bad game and the Howard haters come here and post the "told you so" replies. Howard has a good game, the positive comments roll in and Axe strains his brain to try and make bad out of a win by posting stats he obviously doesn't understand. First it was his SV% and now that statistic is improving it's time to stab at win totals. He goes on a winning streak it will probably be his lack of total shutouts or comparing him statistically to Chicago goalies this season in a negative way. It's gone far beyond "Howard = average" because it's blatantly obvious what the real feelings are here about him from the OP. Not having the capacity to understand 9-7-3 is above .500 speaks volumes about the future arguments we can look forward to here. Do the right thing, keep your car windows rolled up and stop feeding the bears.

I'd like to see Tootoo and Hejda square off tonight for old times sake. The rivalry is long over unfortunately, but we still have the memories of hating eachother in a vicious way. I'm all about mixing it up and seeing what works.. this line just doesn't work. I'd even go as far as saying try a Tatar Datsyuk Andersson line and see what happens.
